That's so illegal where I live. Sure it isn't illegal where you are? People end up getting killed by the police for doing that.

Funny I saw the same photos posted on Masei's Facebook page by Masei. I'm no motorcycle expert or even a motorcycle novice but I know that claiming you can ride at 100mph with these helmets is a dangerous statement. The actual interior helmet might a real tested helmet but custom Macross style attachment parts does not offer any real protection. They might even cause more injury in high speed crash. Seriously people buy this helmet as a display piece or cosplay. If you're going to ride with in stick to city streets and avoid the freeways.

Why make a live action Robotech movie when you can just sit down on the couch and watch transformers, Stealth and Battleship in a row?

Royal Space Force- The Wings of Honneamise on BD in october
Roy Focker replied to Marzan's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Never saw it. Heard it was a classic. Found it on Hulu today. Decided to watch it. It is wonderfully animated but incredibly boring. 30 minutes to the end my sound died on me. After fixing it I decide to do something else.- 34 replies

Here's what I've been working on for the past month. (Painted & Unpainted same armor) This was my first experience making something like this. It is not complete, needs some more adjustments and I need to repaint an entire section. Proportions are not anime accurate. From across the room it looks pretty good. Less than 3 feet away not so much. Learned a lot making it. I have plenty of materials left and plan to start again and make an improved one.

It is the same outfit that Roger Moore wore during the end battle of Live at Let Die. Also some Spectre henchmen wore it too.

Is that a custom? I was thinking about doing that.

I've been researching cosplay armor as possible means to make the shoulder, arms and leg armor. Seems that you buy, cut, heat, shape, treat and paint some types of foam to make armor. The same could be done for DYRL Pilot Suit. This why I wish I had a garage to take on some big arts and craft pockets. I also found the following on Google. All the "hard" is actual just fabric. Why is it in 2 seperate pieces?

Emailing them is not the easiest thing. Told them about the mistake and they seemed to have missed it or something. I think they're still going to send parts as well. So it looks like I will have 3 helmets and a parts to make a 4th.

There's a motorcycle store 5 miles from me. I looked online and they sell bubble shields. I visited them in person to check them out. The shields are only sold online.

Today the postman knocked on my door and handed me a box from China. Must be the replacement parts. I already got the replacement helmet in the color I originally asked for. I open the box. It was another replacement helmet. Yes that's right I now have 3 helmets (1 Hikaru & 2 Roy) I will need to email them later tonight after work before they send me a 4th helmet. I don't think I need replacement parts now.

I got an idea. More like a recycling and expanding of a previous idea. What do you think about a Macross World Calendar of Macross Cosplay as perk for a future convention? There's those new DYRL helmets, already made outfits and macross world friendly cosplayers. I also have some professional photographer and model contacts that could be used. All of the really good Macross cosplay galleries come from Asia. I think we can organize one that can top them.

Robotech is a dying if not dead property. As mentioned in that article Harmony Gold blew many chances over the years to bring it back. Macross in turn has continued to grow and even bring in new fans despite being stuck in Japan. Robotech has been kept on life support by fans. The live action movie's rights were bought only because everyone was buying the rights to retro properties. They haven't made a movie yet because it would lose money. It would very hard to fund movie on a dying property. The Kickstarter pretty much showed the buying power of Robotech's existing fan base. If they want a Live action Robotech to make money. They'll need to do the following: Don't give a F*ck about what the Robotech fans want. Whenever adaptions are made they try to balance what will bring in a new audience and what will please the fans. Forget trying to please the fans. Just focus on making an entertaining sci-fi adventure with transforming robots that will please the majority of the public. A total reboot is needed to attract a new audience to Robotech.

I too got a replacement helmet. Mine had a loose part and it wasn't in the color I asked for. This time I got the correct Yellow Helmet. I did have to send a couple follow up emails during the process as they tend to say the "helmet will be shipped out tomorrow" in every email. This time the helmet was tightly wrapped about 3 times with bubble wrap. Finally it was protected. There are few things about the helmet itself. First I think the yellow might be a shade off. The yellow that was used is a pleasant shade of yellow. I think Roy's... I mean the shade I wore is bit darker. Next the placement of the one of the screws was a centimeter or two off. This created a gap between the back piece and the jaw piece. I was able to take part the helmet to realign all parts but I can't get one screwsback in. Lastly they changed the method of how they attached the decals. With the previous helmet I was able to scratch it off with a credit card. This time things are permanently printed on the helmet. I'm going have to paint over them. In summary their quality control isn't perfect. They messed up with packaging. They have taken steps to fix things. I want to say what do you expect from a 3rd party? As a business they get a barely passing grade. Even with all this I'm still pleased with the helmets. If you're on the fence about getting one I say do it. Yes it might be a hassle but in the end you'll still get a neat collectable to put on your shelf.

I saw a commercial for it yesterday. Rated R? Is this rating to hurt the movie? It looks like another dumb teenagers save the day movie for teenagers to watch. Is this rating going to hinder the target audience from seeing it?
