Guys - thank you all. Contemplating a conversion of a Wave 1/100 VF-1J Battroid into a -1D. Thanks for the assist.

Random one: In Battroid mode, is the VF-1D taller than other VF-1 variants? I'm thinking that it is due to the longer cockpit - translating into greater height when vertical. Thoughts?

Looks great - as does the VF-1J! A true-scale 1/72 Zentran soldier would be great, too. Would buy them both.

2D vector would be good. Another method of getting the right AoA is deflecting both rudders inward, pushing the tail down. Legacy Hornets do this. I guess leading edge slats & flaps on a R/C model are a bit much to ask for?

Went for round two last night - it can withstand a second viewing. My only criticism is that it makes survival on Mars seem a little 'easy'.

If I could figure the spoiler tag thing, I'd say which parts that weren't in the book that were in the movie that could've been jettisoned so to include at least one part that was in the book. Still, I'm considering a rewatch this weekend.

The UAE gifted some of their armed Air Tractors to Egypt. Got to see them in action in the Sinai last year.

Very solid - was disappointed by some of the more dramatic scenes from the book were cut. "X months later" is a poor substitute.

They've got a motorisation kit for their V-22 that spins the prop-rotors & the nacelles. Wonder if they could articulate the wings or such...

There's a shot in that episode of Roy in his VF-1S flying with CF VF-1A. The VF-1A seem to have a black skull & crossbones on the tail, but I've never seen a clear shot. Anyone help?
