OK, now that I've gotten Hamatchi to work with Vista, how about some space fighter tactics discussion. Is there a strat guide in English some where? Are flares worth it vs rank S weapons? How about an extra tank of fuel for dodging? What is the ideal mix of missiles? VS SS Rank CPU opponents, I found that Micro Missiles and High Maneuver Missiles kill them really fast. Which is disappointing because some 2vs2 or 1vs1 matches can last more than 5 minutes. Cockpit mode or Behind the Mecha?

Everyone worked themselves up into a frenzy in that thread then nothing became of it. Oohh, I have some progress to report. VOXP's mcr.exe is a Windows Portable Executable file that uses ASPack 2.12 / Alexey Solodovnikov compression. So... I figure out how to uncompress it, we may able to edit the text. Keep in mind that most of my programming knowledge comes from basic HTML and a bit of ASP coding. Maybe I should watch Hackers a few times to see how the 1337 do things. *queue terrible Russian accent* "mcr.exe, I will break you!" Quick update: mcr.exe has been successfully unpacked. It now looks like the original VO game when viewed with a Hex Editor.

Bleah... I put the VOXP mcr.exe file into a Hex editor and it appears the text is either compressed, encrypted or called from another file. With the original VO exe, I could see the Kana & Kanji as well as bits of English such as "Stage 12". With the VOXP exe, I can't see any of that. I look more tomorrow while waiting for Frontier to air.

Wow, that YF-19 looks really nice. Maybe I'll have to try VOXP again. BTW, did anyone get anywhere with translating VOXP? My VO translation project ended with the last update Bothtec did to the original Macross VO.

yer slow! That is a much better pic though than my cell phone camera pics. Be sure to tweak the screensize and controls by hitting home. It plays better with the nub than the d-pad. Honestly.. I'm having more fun playing Symphony of the Night than VFX2 ^^; I need to get around to throwing the DYRL game on it... I'm sure it will play fine. Let's see.. what emulated Macross games do we have on the PSP: Macross 2036 (Plays fine, the emu has some sync issues with the MP3 audio) Macross Eternal Love Song (haven't tested but I'm sure it plays) Famicon Macross Super Famicon Macross Gameboy Macross 7 Wonderswan Macross (haven't tested but it is likely that the Wonderswan emu will play it.) PSX Digital Mission Macross VFX PSX Macross VFX2 PSX Macross Plus Game Edition PSX Macross DYRL (Likely, not tested) Now if someone would make a decent MAME port to the PSP we'd be playing Super Space Fortress Macross, Macross 2 and Macross Plus arcade.
