I snagged one at the re-issue as well.

I had one on backorder at HLJ for the longest time. I just cancelled it a little while ago. I can't believe I found 3 at 3 different local stores before HLJ could even ship me ONE, which I had preordered as soon as it was posted on the website. Crazy! I hope it won't be as bad with the subsequent 1/100 VF releases.

I dunno if it's a general thing between hlj and bandai. I was able to get some recent gundam kits through hlj easily enough. Just seems like they had a hard time with the yf-19. I'll probably cancel my order with hlj as i don't need more than 3 anyway.

HLJ has been weird. I ordered the HG YF-19 on Oct. 22nd, 2022. Never received. Meanwhile, bought 3 copies at 3 different local brick & mortar stores. But the Wave VF-171EX I ordered at HLJ did come in.

TV VF-1J, TV VF-1D, and Max/Miria VF-1J would be a great start. Then a TV VF-1A if we're lucky.

I got notice that my copy from HLJ has entered my private warehouse. Anxiously awaiting the announcement of a Max VF-1J Super Battroid now. 😄

Isn't it mostly moulded in white? I don't recall if things like the feet or gunpod are moulded in color. And decals wouldn't cover those.

Pretty cool. I hope they're planning on TV versions and supers down the road.

I wish they'd do what they did with the 1/1000 Voyager kit: release both a non-clear and a clear version simultaneously. With so many people lighting their star trek kits these days, doing a clear version makes sense. But it would be great to have a non-clear alternative.

I heard they are re-issuing Enterprise B in clear plastic as well. What I really need is a re-issue of the Excelsior decal set....

Ordered! Really hope they have Glaug and power armors in the works. And hopefully all in 1/72.

Now all I can think of when I see the old rounded hands is Baymax from Big Hero 6...

In Gundam? I haven't seen rounded hands for a while... I think Witch from Mercury, Hathaway's Flash, Unicorn, etc use mechanical blocky hands.

That's a creative idea but... would soft cushioned hands be good for precision handling of the gunpod? Good for lifting or moving heavy objects? For punching Zentran in the face?

Cool! Still wish they'd done YF-29 in 1/72 to match all the other Bandai 1/72 Frontier and Delta kits but... oh well. At least the smaller size and cheaper price makes it more feasible to do an 'all 3 modes' display for these guys.

I do like the J head and Hikaru's TV colors though. So either I can live with the round hands or swap em out.

If the final kit doesn't include a mechanical blocky hands option, then yes, that would be a good way to go.

There's a part of me that has nostalgia for the old rounded hands (both in the show, and the old kits that had them), but a bigger part of adult me can't get past the fact that these rounded hands on this kit clearly wouldn't fit inside the arms. The 3d concept design work seems to indicate some mechanical style hands may be included as well? I'd probably opt for those.

Ah good. That probably applies to the Armored VF-1 kits as well then, I would think? Assuming they come with a gunpod. I haven't been able to look at an Armored VF-1 kit yet - mine are still sitting over in HLJ's warehouse.

I actually... really don't like these new rounded hands. I'm hoping this kit still includes the original battroid hands as an option. I'm going to want all my battroid hands to match each other, and I'd rather not have to buy 'donor' kits to replace the hands with the original style.

I was thinking the same myself. To be honest, I don't really like kits that allow multiple options out of one box... I always wind up getting multiples that have the same box art, when I could have had multiple different cover artworks to enjoy. 🤣

I finally picked up a VF-19 and decals at my local shop. I've gotten another set of the decals from HLJ, but they still haven't filled my order for the VF-19. I'll leave it on order since I'd like to have 2 or 3 sets to do 2 or 3 of the modes eventually. But I can't believe my first one came through my local shop.
