Im in the middle of taking pics now of the Virago right now. If you have read Shadows of the empire or played th game the Virago is from that. Its the really mean looking ship that Prince Xixor flies in it. First words out of my wifes mouth when she saw it built and basecoated were "That thing looks sinister!" The shuttle is pretty close to 1/72 scale and the A wing is near the same scale as the standard Xwing kit.

Seems like we are all on a star wars kick. I have 4 in progress now. Star Destroyer, A-Wing, The Virago(SOTE) and my OI Lambda Class shuttle which just arive at its new home. Still waiting on the Falcon and an Ertl Slave One. BTW Ertl just reissued most of its kits aside from the shuttle A-Wing, Y-Wing and B-Wing

Actually if your doing a 1S you need the internal F-15 one. Its another one of those things Gsystem left out that club M had in it. if you want i can draw you some line art of an actual USAFE F-15 boarding ladder that we use. Im going to scratch build the internal one for my Gsystem kit.

yup #E17 is the one. You glued it in the cockpit? it actually goes under the access door i only found out after studying ALOT of pics of the kit and the instructions. That was 2 years ago when i built my first one(which came apart perfectly)cant wait to do a Max DYRL? 1S in maintenance. Taking a break right now and finishing a model of my actual car.

Id rather have a VF, Tomahawk or Monster in THAT scale.I guess that makes this kit 1/6 scale roughly.
-
Its a small piece not even 1/4 inch on each side and fits in the flat spot in the wedge shaped depression. It took me a bit to find too both times i built the kit. If my camera had better focus id take a pic but i cant so ill give you the part nimber for the photoetch fret to see if you can find it there. Its part E17 and is shown on the part list. Funny though it isnt in the instructions for this kit as an option just in the old club M ones.

There is another good SR-71C out at the Air museum at Hill AFB in salt lake city. The museum is free to get into. They had an extra motor on display outside the acft last time i was there. There is also another Cmodel at Duxford air museum here in the UK.

Why not use the code to get starbuck and boomer for wingmen. They should stay alive longer.

A question for Camaro owners here (late 2nd gen preferrably). I have had the fenders off my car before the question is how difficult is the plastic A/C housing to take apart to replace a blown heter core? Mine went out so im asking to see if its a weeknder or if i will need to take a week of leave to do it. Im in the uk but have access to classic industries.com for any parts i need. Just ordered a polyuretane bushing set from them. Should keep the rubber on my 275/60/R15s a little better.

Yes on my end im still looking for a tomahawk.

I just noticed you didnt put the little photoetch detail in the open port to the rear of the upper left ECS duct. other than that its looking good man.

Nope its pretty stiff and pretty brittle. The shoulder peg snapped off mine during construction. Not good for play.

I was thinking it may stand better once complete some of these kits are designed like that. But then again maybe not

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD
HWR MKII replied to Max Jenius's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ah what a wonderful world we live in. First we prove zombies are posible in a technical sense. Now watch some farmer in the middle of Montana or Utah will run over an alien . -
Please tell me you didnt scream like a girl when it happened I know how expensive that kit is. Bad model Karma stay away!
-
Ah i see what you mean now. Looks like all you actually need is filler light coming from the other side to balance the contrast from the sunlight. I had that same problem taking pics of my monster.

Looking great man. You should try taking the pics in natural light it may enhance the quality and show off details too. It helps with darker subjects. Sean
