same thing was said about the q-rau, and so far i don't have any problems with it....though i'm sure their are many here who beg to differ. i guess i'll end up being one of their testing dummies.... Using the Q-rau as a comparison for QC is a very poor choice. The Q-rau does not transform, has less posability, and has an overall simpler design compared to Yamato's VF line. You might as well be comparing a 1/72 Hasegawa to a 1/72 Bandai transformable VF-1 kit, there's just no comparison. That said, the Monster will probably have it's small share of QC problems, but I highly doubt there will be be any dealbreakers like the VF-11B's fragile hips.

Cripes! Now that is talent! Have you any idea how many April Fool's pranks you could pull with skills like that?
-
Nice Scope Dog! Tsk tsk, another scale-breaker. I'm not investing in anything that isn't 1/48, 1/60, or 1/72, this is already ridiculous. I really hope that Yamato releases the regular 1/60 Monster. $350 be damned, if they release it, I'll buy it!

I use the PS2 Action Replay PSX disc to boot the PS1 games. I used to have the PS2 Gameshark PSX disc, but I sold it since I had to sit through a 2 minute Gameshark intro before booting the game. Btw, I use the AR in conjunction with a mod chip.

Great work, BoB! Nice and creative rendition of Sivil's outfit, it's more revealing without appearing out of character or style. Kudos! Btw, what's that lump on Sivil's right forearm? And I'm not talking about the fin

That tears it, we need to go back to the old board settings, what were they? They were smaller for sure. Bite yer tongue! The old 32x32 limit still gives me nightmares.

Nope, UN Spacy doesn't give him another VF-19 Kai. However... SPOILER ALERT He does acquire a VF-19P in Macross 7 Dynamite.

I wouldn't mind larger avatars either.

is it just me or is Max's VF-1S is purple-striped
TheLoneWolf replied to treatment's topic in Movies and TV Series
It's blue. There are plenty more images from the Gold Book to back it up. If you flip through the Gold Book, Skull Squadron's colors vary depending on which portion of the movie you're looking at. For example, in some scenes Hikaru's red stripe turns from red to blood red. And yes, it is animation inconsistency. The movie (more than likely) was not animated in sequential order with several teams working on it at once. It's preposterous to expect 100% animation consistency in a film that was hand-drawn twenty years ago. As for the Max & Kakizaki display pictures, they were probably animated on seperate cels by different people. -
I'm surprised it took this long for someone to abuse one of the servers. Play with warez... Anyways, if someone can't figure out how to queue files, I say they deserve to be banned.

Marvelous! Graham, is there any chance Yamato could release some limited edition 1/48's with a "hand painted look?" Repaints be damned, I'd buy them all!

Street Fighter III ................. PS2
TheLoneWolf replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Does anyone know how much Sony's PSP is going to cost? Two of the GBx's strengthes were its very reasonable MSRP and backwards compatibility. -
No thanks. At this point, the only 1/48's that would remotely interest me would be non-repaints. VF-1D, Super Ostrich, or Elintseeker.

Very nice! MW's first Q-rau custom!

One of our HK members said that the Academy VF-2SS was actually licensed from Bandai. I don't have any actual pics of the parts, but it seemed to be of excellent quality, too good for a bootleg.

OMG! So I'm not the only one? You must have the other piece to this amulet? *holds up half-completed amulet*

Which version are you looking for? I still have my Saturn version, but I sold the PSX port a few months ago. Didn't make much sense having the same game twice, so I sold the lesser of the two.
-
Right off the top of my head. - Rick MPC VF-1J - Toynami Super Posables - Yamato 1/48 VF-1's - Transformers Action Masters (WTF was I thinking? Non-transforming TF's?!)
-
The PS1 version is actually inferior compared to the Saturn version. - Lower video quality. Instead or working from the masters, it looks like Bandai just re-encoded the Saturn .avi's to Sony's .str format. - No stereo output, the game is in mono with no option for stereo. Oddly enough, if you rip the FMV's to a computer, they will playback in stereo. Must've been a software oversight when porting the game. - There's a minor sound fx bug if you fire the gattling gun for a few seconds, you'll hear a brief "reeeeoooo" sound, this was not present in the Saturn version (nor the anime). - Difficulty is subjective, imo. I beat both games and didn't notice any increase or decrease in difficulty. Could just be that I'm a beast gamer. Other than that, both games are completely identical.

Robotech and HG license debates
TheLoneWolf replied to Roy Focker's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Actually, Toycom has gone on record stating that they were willing to pay royalties to both Big West and Harmony Gold, but HG wouldn't hear any of it. Perhaps, in retrospect, HG was worried that a future court would find them at fault for accepting royalties for shows that HG knew were not in their license. HG would not be able to plead uninformed ignorance, as it would be difficult to convince a court that they were not aware of what their license even contained. In this case, HG's best bet was to blow a lot of hot air at Toycom and pray that Toycom folds, and that's exactly what happened. Just my nickel. edit: syntax -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
TheLoneWolf replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
What photos? Do tell! -
As Movement is one of the more recent artbooks out, it's very well possible that it could be in there. *crosses fingers* Below is the image we're looking for. If you've got some time to kill (I'm sure there are tons of images on that CD), we'd appreciate it if you sift through it. If not, that's ok, since it might be in the Movement artbook DA is getting. Man, we're almost done getting all those images! I honestly had my doubts there for a while.

They remind me of the Special Edition CD soundtracks. I think they're alright. Not great, just alright.
-
Thanks for the shout-out, Blaine. Anyways, I think I might know the location of the Flashback image (below) that DA needs: If I remember correctly, it was only released on one (or both) of these Macross CD-ROMs below. While I have neither CD-ROM, I believe Shawn might, as these pics were taken from the MW game gallery. The fact that he has several pics of them leads me to believe that they are actually in his possesion, instead of being just e-bay screen grabs. Anyone hear know how to get a hold of Shawn? I'm not going to waste my time trying the PM. Macross Collection, released in 1997 by Movic Macross 15th Anniversary, released in 1997 by Pioneer.

I have all three Mac+ artbooks. OAV artbook Movie artbook Movie program With the exception of the movie program, there are some very nice images to be used. Unfortunately, all the good images have been placed dangerously close to the books' spines. Scanning these images could do irreparable damage to the spines, and even if I were to give it the ol' college try, the ends of the images would be warped in the areas where the spines bend. Edit: DA, your Storm Attacker pics have been uploaded.
