  1. Yes, I've read that article before and I know that it does not state whether or not the Drama CD's are canon.
  2. Before we can debate whether or not this is the same Flower Girl that appears in M7, we need to establish whether or not the Drama CD's are considered canon. If they're not canon, then anything is possible. If they are canon, then we have a bona fide mystery. Unless the Drama CD's explicitly state that they are canon, only Kawamori, Studio Nue or Egan Loo can render such an assessment.
  3. lynn2009, thanks for that translation. There's plenty of thunder for you guys to share
  4. Just curious, but is that $53 - $60 shipping estimate for Surface Mail, SAL or EMS?
  5. So, according to the box set, Neya Michiko did her own singing. Well that explains a lot. Good sleuthing, d3v!
  6. No kidding! We'll have to track down Egan Loo and ask him.
  7. Thanks for the translations, they're fun reads. At first I thought you were only kidding when you mentioned Minmay's "short, thick legs" Does the CD say who wrote the script?
  8. Here you go. Looking back, I really hope that's not her name in English.
  9. Wow, that's the first (and probably the last) time I've ever seen Southern Cross cosplay. Lana and Louis don't look to bad either. I'm just surprised they couldn't find an old, bald and fat otaku to play Claude Leon (Gen. Leonard)
  10. I have it, I'll post some scans when I get back home later tonight. Hopefully we'll get this mystery solved.
  11. Have you checked the movie program guide for Macross Plus: Movie Edition/The Galaxy is Calling Me? It has the lyrics and titles for both of Emilia's songs, and there's some kanji above the lyrics that may include the name of the singer.
  12. Nice Kim figure! It looks like you gave her Minmay's hand, but where to did you get her head from?
  13. Yeah, I think the rainbow canopies are here to stay. They're quirky, and we all know how the Japanese love quirky stuff. I'm no fan of the rainbow canopy, but it don't bother me anymore since you can wash off the effect with some acrylic paint thinner. Thanks Kyp!
  14. Kyp, kudos to you for being brave enough to use your new 1/60 as a guinea pig. If I ever do decide to get the v2, I'll be sure to get a bottle of Tamiya acrylic paint thinner. From some of the pictures I've seen, it looks like the rainbow effect can sometimes distort the cockpit details, which I find counterproductive.
  15. From the angles of the pictures taken, I agree that the canopy looks pretty bad. Hopefully it's just the camera angle or just a very early sample piece.
  16. sketchley, thanks for breaking down the contents of Chronicles #2. And thanks for telling us how much of the line art is recycled.
  17. When you put it that way...definitely MacrossWorld.
  18. What a great use for the old v1 1/60 pilots! They look like they're in scale too! I like how the tampo markings are just peering through the red paint, it's a pretty cool effect. Keep us updated on your progress.
  19. Did the "Mirai" name contain a cite? Non-cited information from Wikipedia (including the Japanese version) should never be taken too seriously.
  20. Sorry it's taken me a while to respond, but I wasn't able to find my first two TIA books to compare, so all I'm working with is Memory Perfect and the third TIA book. As for those Yotchan design sheets, the DVD booklet has them except for the ones where he's falling face-first into the ground, the one that focuses on his eye, and the one that focuses on his UN Spacy symbol. I can also verify that some of the interviews were taken straight out of Memory Perfect because it has "Interview MACROSS MEMORY PERFECT" right above them However, there appears to be a new interview with Ishiguro since I can make out the words "25" (most likely in reference to Macross' 25th anniversary). Finally there's another interview with an older fellow who looks to be around Ishiguro's age. I don't recognize his photo so I couldn't tell you who he is. As for the rest of the character designs, I'd guess that 97% of them can be found in the TIA books and Memory Perfect. Few struck me as new with the rare exception of a 3/4 bust-view of certain characters like Kamjin. The booklet also has rear headshots of all the major characters, meaning all you can see is the back of their hair. I don't remember seeing these before either. Hope this helps!
  21. As an X-Files fan (who stopped watching after season 5), I liked the movie. It wasn't jaw-dropping, but it was still very good. As people have noted, it's essentially a 2-hour episode that is character driven, not plot driven. If you genuinely liked the characters of Mulder and Scully, you'll love the movie. If you watched X-Files for the aliens, mutants, and double plot twists, then you'll be disappointed.
  22. I can't read kanji, so I don't know if the interviews are new or recycled. I know what you mean about rare lineart, it's truly a treat when you find one in an odd location that hasn't been published in any of the major artbooks. I'll double-check when I get back home, but I don't recall seeing any lineart that hasn't already been published in the TIA books or Memory Perfect.
  23. Bravo, George Sohn. If these get made, I'll definitely pick them up. Interesting. Even with a telescoping neck, I don't believe the 1/55 design leaves much room for the head to tuck in in fighter mode. I'm curious to see what Toynami does.
  24. I'm at work so I can't give you an exact page count, but I think it's around 100 pages. It's got interviews with the staff, an episode synopsis, the usual character & mecha lineart, some of the cover art from the old IMAI/ARII kits, and some of the Macross merchandise that's been offered throughout the years. It's pretty nifty but doesn't offer anything that we haven't already seen, and it's definitely not worth the price of the box set.
