  1. not sure what that stuff is but I have used the 3M (green) Marine tape for the Frontier Valks I've switched to Battroid.. its great stuff! lasts ages and doesn't leave any sticky residue or do damage to surfaces.
  2. What a cool photo! LOL @ the post-it note! yeah same.. I have an Isamu 29 which in my honest opinion has the best paint scheme of the lot! I don't think I'll ever get the others.. They are ok but the shelf heights are too low.. Even if it meant losing one shelf, ideally they needed to be about 3 to 4 inches higher so it would be possible to have the Frontier Valks in battroid mode whilst on the display stand.. but they are wider and deeper than the Detolf shelves. Yeah im quite proud of my little homage to the old Group C & early Group A Australian touring car championship days! Ahhh the memories! Love the Commodores especially the HDT Brocks!
  3. hehe! Mr Ikea is making an absolute fortune from us MW members! I said I wasn't going to buy another Klingsbo but sure enough whilst at Ikea today I bought another! But.. I got this one cheap, 50% discounted as it was a return with a few of the glass shelves that had been broken.. Took some measurements & got the glazier company who does all the glass work for the bus company I work for to cut up some new shelves (for free too I might add!) BOOM! Cabinet fixed! Pays to be friends with one of the Ikea staff girls eh! bottom 3 shelves of the middle cabinet are the new ones.. the shade of the glass is ever so slightly darker but its only a bee's dicks worth so you can hardly tell.. but in the end & at half the normal price, who cares!
  4. Yeah kinda but I still reckon the v2 Yamato VF-1 gives it a good run for its money! I can switch it from fighter to battroid in about a minute whislt being careful doing so!
  5. Mate that looks really good! You're putting Bandai to shame with this one as you beat them to it! Keep up the great work!
  6. Woahhhhhh So much eye candy!! MUST.RESIST.GETTING.A.VALKYRIE.RAGER...
  7. your displays look really great! I have been thinking maybe off load my Klingsbo's in favor of Detolf's as they seem far more suited for displaying Valks.. Then I can line them all up beside each other and same more space! Just gotta find someone here locally who will want to buy my Klingsbo's first..
  8. nahh not really.. As long as im gentle when handling the Valk they seem ok and stay put so im not gonna bother fiddling with em.. I touched up some of the more obvious paint chips so now she sitting pretty!
  9. Personally I think the J-Hik looks better without the gray visor..
  10. Well here she is finally sitting on display! A few small gripes about the 30 but she still makes a welcome addition to the collection. And she'll be staying in fighter mode too..
  11. Its certainly a nice design especially in fighter mode but regards to everything else about the 30 its pretty much the same but different..
  12. Well my YF-30 finally arrived this morning.. a few little hassles.. There are a few little paint scratches here n there though nothing that cant be carefully touched up I guess. There looks to be a stress mark in the plastic around the left hand side wing root hinge area.. like its been carelessly transformed previously. The little locating tabs don't seem to lock in place so well either and keep popping out particularly on the underside where the left leg sits up against the missile pod and where the left wing sits up against the left leg. The folding wing tip sections don't seem to want to lock into place very well either and sag down a little. The pilot is standard issue DX junk, no better than the VF-25/29 pilots. Thought Dandai would've stepped up the quality a little there but no.. and the pilot just doesn't want to sit center in the cockpit and leans a tad to the left.. Not liking the design they chose to fix the vertical stabilizers (rudders) to the plane. They really do need a small notch or something there to indicate that you have them sitting on the correct angle when in fighter mode. And they seem like over time they could become loose with excessive use and not sit where you want them or just fall off.. Also its strange they made provisions for wing mounted missiles etc but not include any with the plane? On the plus side the paint scheme looks great and its nice to have the 'no step' markings pre-applied. And the box is nice, follows the trend of previous releases. I hate to sound like im having a major whinge here as yes the 30 does look very cool and I do like it, its just that I am a little disappointed and expected better especially considering its a brand new toy, new design etc etc.. still a little better than previous DX VF's the 30 doesn't really come across as a significant step forward in terms of build & finish quality. Feels like the YF-30 I received has left side loose and floppiness issues and although it was sealed its almost like it was second hand.. Either way im happy I bought it and that its finally here and yes its still a sexy plane but I don't think I'll be purchasing any more of em..
  13. hopefully it'll arrive today and I'll be sure to comment! Tracking says 'forwarded for delivery' so fingers crossed.. Australia Post is sooo slow...
  14. Mine was processed through customs yesterday but no further updates.. hopefully it'll will go through the sort facility today.
  15. Speaking of hard things.. I think something of mine just got hard.. and then..
  16. that sure is a nice empty space you have there! should look even better once its filled in with a sexy YF-30! Hope yours gets on its way soon! Mine just landed at Sydney airport about an hour ago! yipee!!!
  17. hehe! yeah have cart-jacked a few times but only once at Mandarake if I recall correctly.. aside from getting order cancellation emails due to no stock a few days later.. which kinda sucks too!
  18. post deleted.. apologies for the stupid question..
  19. hehe! yeah the VF-4G is a pretty sweet bit of kit! One brownie VF-1A had the DYRL head unit with the extended goggle bit and darker whites while the other one if the TV version with whiter whites and no goggle bit on the head unit, just has the forward lense bit.. Both brownies have very similar painted areas.. Both are as awesome as each other but I prefer the head on the TV version personally. It would have been nearly 12 months ago I saw the M&M pair on ebay and the asking price was $1600.. with free postage.. still didn't help take the sting off the price.. I did see the pair for sale recently on Yahoo Auctions in Japan for 100,000 yen but it sold. Wasn't prepared to spend that kind of money. Well actually I would have but just didn't have it to spend. And the misses would have not been so impressed if she knew I spent that kinda money on more toys. Hopefully a set will come up somewhere at a semi reasonable price but im sure everyone is looking for the same set so I'll have some solid competition buying it! I wanted to put together a Steve McQueen display with his Gulf 917 and various other memorabilia I have of him including those awesome shoes but to date haven't got round to it.. Yeah im over the moon about getting Roy Low Vis and Virgin Road Valks! Next is the VF-X! any offers anyone!?!?
