Bolt’s Blt comp entry#1 Neo Grade VF1 Armored Valkyrie
Bolt replied to Bolt's topic in The Workshop!
Did a late night hack job, as an experiment for a possible custom mod on the gun pod. Going for the underslung grenade launcher look here. So..I took one of the auxiliary bazookas from the Thunderbolt psycho Zaku (come on , that thing just has way too many bazookas!) and went at it..I would add a second trigger in the forward trigger guard space.. So why didn’t anyone tell me I had the rear end upside down in the last post?! Haha, I almost broke it apart before I remembered it spins easily on the pc insert (duh!) Another thing that drives me insane for a minute ..no strap! Not in either of my kits! Is it me, or what? The strap is clearly shown and labeled in the instructions. So I find some random rubber piece out by the garbage and (wash it..) cut it to length (looks a little long for now) and trim the thickness down on each end for a good fit onto the pegged pieces. The ammo pack might be too much, but it’s more realistic. And I would maybe add a second ammo pack to the body of the armor or batroid somewhere.. Still mulling it over.. -
Nice pose! As someone else mentioned, I believe Mirage’s Valk is MAGENTA Favorite Valk, favorite Delta pilot

Nice set. Haven’t seen that one yet. I’ve bought several sets for my son and the ninjago line has really grown on me. They’re really quite diverse in their designs , I find.

To each their own. Delta has been the most color wandering squadron yet. I don’t really like any of the color schemes of the armor parts. I would custom that. Don’t care for Hayate’s Valk color scheme even a little. But I do like Mirage’s C ,Arads S And Messers F, in that order I guess. I would get chuck’s E because I like the radome’s.. but at the end of the day , I agree that these toys are we’ll engeneered and that makes them quite desirable . Not sure I’ll even get more of these , just some supers and Armored Set. Way beyond the point of needing to complete the whole squadron.

Nice! -
Good info @Darth Mingus I’ve been looking at these kits lately , they look pretty good. I would probably paint mine rather than use stickers, although the stickers probably do ok. Hey @aarelovich the eBay prices for these are still quite expensive, considering what Hobby Search is selling them for. At that rate you can buy my Yamato 1/15 Garland for a little more

Yes it does! Getting it this far is only half the work! The other half is painting and detailing and weathering, oh my! -
Looks awesome! I’m starting to see a comic book here..

Ok, phew.. between work and Salmon season, been having long days. Believe it or not. So, masking last few bits, like the head visor on the Hasegawa. Then had to rebuild the angled bits on the thighs after sanding.. Havent touched the gunpod yet, getting to it eventually. But I’m considering a custom jobbie... And a handful of pieces to work over before everything is primed.. Might be a double strike.. Been thinking about @electric indigo suggestion and shaving off the missile heads to replace with alternates. But I haven’t found any that work in my 1/72 kits. Not ready to outsource for those..And I’m considering missiles firing effect for a dynamic action finished look anyway. For now , I’m filling out the one that is FUBAR and will try to recut it into the right shape.. Everything else is worked over and primed. Next step is secondary assembly and paint prep.. I really like the grey look! I think I’ll give the Hasegawa bits and the oversized shoulders the low viz treatment. The armored parts will be something else, I believe, that needs to compliment. (Starting to ponder the base or diorama jobbie..) Well, that was days and hours of work! More to go. More to come. See you next Deculture -

Nice project @Xigfrid all 3 points sound awesome Looks like you can only fit 2 VF’s between the island and the elevators.. IMO the bigger , master file picture looks right for an ultra modern carrier sporting VF’s..but that’s also a bigger project.. (Also looking forward to your revised Ghost X-9)

Good times! Adrian was the real rock star of that pod cast. Lol. Happy Birthday amigo! Also loved Tony’s rant.
