One thing I would like to see is how close to the ground the gunpod is. I wonder if you can get a pic of the vf0 in fighter mode with gunpod atached underneath? I've always wondered if there was clearance for it given its beefy chunky look. (I will assume the arms are really high up and the handle collapses deep plus the bigger overall size of the fighter makes it ok)

It would blow the 1/72 version away. I will throw out all my old 1/72 yammies if they do mac plus line of 1/60 with details of the 1/60 mac zero and 1/48 valks. Ah decent proportions for once. *looks at stubby yf21 nose* *vomits at sight of ugly screws under the vf11 in fighter mode* *tips yf19 upside down in battroid mode to show the top hlaf of the mech flop out* Also if possible try to make the battroid mode less chunky and more skinny without sacrificing the strength and durability of the toy. The skinny look makes the valk look much more agile and speedy, if a little delicate.

Seeing the monster again was a nostalgiac moment. Those 3 old guys who blew up a chunk of the building were funny. Did they actually own the monster? The good thing was that it wasn't painted in any crazy paintscheme like the others and went unscathed.

So the plastic will have a shiny finish? That is great.

Eww what a mess. I'd hate to be the one to have to clean the floor.

Someone mentioned they wanted to recoup costs from 1/100 that was scrapped. Maybe that explains the price?

That pretty much sums up my views. This is why I can safely say that max and milia were heroes for using thier skills to help bring an end to war by protecting the defenceless humans from the far-more-threatening zentradi. If a cat is trying to kill a mouse, doesn't that mouse have a right to defend itself with its speed or small size to escape death? We humans had no choice against the bodolza faction. It was either you fight or go down with a fight, or you hold hands and watch them kill your family down on earth while preaching about how killing is wrong and we should not shoot aliens from the safety of the sdf1 due to how mean that would be. There was a scene where bodolza actually shows off to misa how superior thier forces are and shows her a dying planet (just like the way darth vader showed princess leia the power of the deathstar to kill planets) and then mocks how weak others are compared to them as thier millions of ships blast the defenceless planet with thier guns, almost like saying, "you are a defencless little runt, give up or else you are next. We zentradis' sole purpose is to go to planets and wipe out all the inferior races to us." Once they get to a point where reasoning with them is over (we are a threat to thier forces due to culture which can contaminate thier army with thoughts of love - yeah we are reeeaaalll evil!) I don't see why human can't be painted in an purely objective view as heroes who rescued not only the earth and the human race's right to exist as well as the future generations that would follow, but also the zentradi who hated thier former life as a dog of the warrior religion and a cog in a machine with no individual ability to think for themself. It was really a rescue mission more than anything. The enemy just didn't know it yet. I think it is safe to say that what war really does is take away a person's innocence because it forces them to kill whether they want to or not. That doesn't mean it is ok to kill, just that when all options have been exhausted, you're right to life and your families right is the first thing you would think about. The ending to gundam wing movie summed it up really well, the characters all fought bravely against the odds even though they looked like they were going to lose. The people they were fighting for didn't even acknowledge these brave pilots' existance until they could see the fight on the monitor outside. What were they fighting for? The ability for people to speak. By fighting for them, the people can then hope for a TRUE peace that allows the people to at least communicate and work out thier differences in a civil manner so that they no longer have to fight in senseless wars again. The main villain is really that old guy trying to take that ability away from the people with his plan to control the whole world and space with an iron fist by secretly manipulating people so that they would be too tired and weak to be able to fight against him. (from all the previous war - the idea is that they would be so sick of war they would give in to a dictatorship to avoid any future death. Prisons are safe.) All the previous wars were his way of slowly but surely generating enough power through the industry of war, (which refines the war machines to higher level of killing efficiency) so he could use that advanced technology while the rest of the world thought it was at peace, to create the most powerful of all mecha and use those refined models to dominate the world with it against a weakened and unsuspecting public. But people were too busy fighting each other to even realise they were being manipulated from the beginning, so he was allowed to control them through fear. The villains are always the ones who try to rationalise thier need to control others with force by getting the people into a state of weakness and tiredness so that they eventually except the conditions given to them due to manipulating the events that lead to war from the first place. When people give into thier fears they cocoon themselves and don't think logically. That is what the old guy was hoping for with the marimeia army. Show them your strength by flexing your muscles and people will give into the stronger guy at the expense of thier own freedom, too horrified by the thought of war to fight for themselves. Of course the heroes hated killing and were constantly asking "what are we fighting for?" and they get thier answer at the end of the movie when people started protesting against the marimeia army to show thier disagreement with it. People wouldn't even have that right under a dictatorship. But when they protested on the streeets to show thier message of disagreement it meant they got back to thier true peace where they had freedom again. That is something worth fighting for. And you'll note because the heroes had the skills, they tried to avoid killing the pilots (even though the odds were against them) and only disabling the machines they used to kill people with. (kinda like when arnie shoots people in the legs in terminator 2) ...Unfortunately that is where real life differs from sci fi. Not all people are that good that they can just be given the choice to avoid killing people when defending themselves. Sometimes it is unavoidable. I think max pretty much ackowledges the hyposcrisy of kaifun in macross when he sees how lethal kaifun is in self defence and wonders how he can be a pacifist. Without those martial arts skills to defend himself and protect the innocent, he wouldn't even be alive to continue to have a voice and spread his message. It's hard to see how this differs with the soldiers fighitng to protect sdf1.

But from the point of view of the writers, humans were the ones with the moral high ground. We were weaker than the zentradi in numbers, the commander wanted us dead, and so we fought for our lives to survive. Even if we wanted to make peace, they wouldn't have let us. So once Bodolza had realised how much a threat culture was to the zentradi (it weakens thier ability to fight) I can say that we were right to kill as many of them before they killed us given the circumstances. So although killing isn't right, (only max and milia have the skills to disable the pods without killing the pilots) it is a necessary evil if you are up against an enemy that can not be reasoned with - if only to deter the enemy from thinking they can just have thier way. Of course there were different factions within the zentradi when britai defected, (the human sympathisers, the neutral guys like kamjin who couldn't care less, and the bodolza loyalist) so I'm reffering mainly to the ones that were loyal to bodal right to end. If I were one of the cannon fodders and I had to defend my home planet, I wouldn't feel any kind of guilt killing a zentradi as I see it as protecting people I love and thier homes. But I wouldn't call my self defence of my homeland "murder". Once all options for peace talks have failed and the enemy knows it can wipe you out with very little risk (due to having far bigger numbers than you and being able to bully you) there is no luxury to dream about peace. Just blow that phucker away because chances are they will crush you with thier numbers and unfair advantage. If the zentradi were bred purely for war, and the archivist knows that they were being used like tools I don't see any reason why humans can't be called the good guys/heroes of SW I. There's nothing to be ashamed of: we won. They had the advantage. We had the moral high ground, for bringing culture to thier culture-less existence, and the alien defectors are thankful to us seeing as they were going to be exterminated due to thier commander thinking they had been contaminated. End of story. For those Zentradi that died: they took thier chances thinking they would win and lost the bet. Like gambling you can only blame yourself for taking the risk and not winning. Had thier commander been more reasonable and left the microns alone as the ancient prophecy warned, he would not have been defeated so easily by culture shock. I often wonder what bodol would have thought if he had lived to see the truth in the ancient ruins seen in macross 7 when exedol had read the mural about the history of the PC. Would bodalza have changed his mind? From my point of view, all the rogue zentradi still clinging to thier old belief that war is the meaning of life are misguided fools that need to be rescued from thier brainwashing. Not the humans. They may not be pure evil, but they are the ones in the wrong for blindly believing a lie. I'm sure if Bodolza had merely been captured and put into a prison as opposed to killed in the tv series he may have wisened up and agreed with the Britai/Exedol defectors that going with humans was the good thing and probably apologised for being such an a-hole before.

I see humans as being 'good' and aliens more 'evil' since we had the disadvantage in the war. The underdog fighting against the bully. the underdog is always the one you want to see win since the bully is the oppressor. If the fight was more fair split about 50/50 like in gundam it might be a little more grey though.. This is where the peace activist like relena from gundam wing comes in handy: where both sides are pretty strong and the environment they live in might not be able to sustain wars for too much longer. Where the mecha are in danger of being used to oppress the people while they are at thier most weakest (ie marimeia army trying to create a new world order in the Gundam Wing movie using the most elite soldiers and best mecha to create a global dictatorship) after having expended all thier energy fighting against each other and too weak to fight anymore. (which was the master plan all along - control everything both earth and space) Obviously to me the hero is the guy that fights for the least oppressive ideal. If you think about the zeon in gundam, it wasn't so much the ideal of going to space to migrate that was so bad, (in fact I think the "old types" were just scared of the power they would lose, after having been used to it for so long) it was more the fact that the Zabi family had hijacked control of the zeon to create a dictatorship and purposely tried to make the people angry so that they'd fight unquestionionly due to fear. You can't reason with someone who is brainwashed. Go against the grain (as an anti zabi group) and I bet you'd be targeted by the people for your different view. Possibly hanged in public as a demonstration of what happens if you try protesting. I see Bodolza as a Zabi for macross. (they are both bald ) Sure he was scared, but the soldiers he was leading were not thinking for themselves. So in my view that is more evil than what the humans have. Zentradi then being more brainwashed, are not evil themselves just thier leader who turned them that way and wishes only to wipe us out. The soldiers expressing thier will to want to join up with humans, would be systematically killed the same as what you would have with a dictator who won't listen to anyone's reason and wants to absorb all power for himself. Assasinating whoever gets in thier way. Once you take away a person's free will to think, that is where you can start to question whether the leader is a good or bad guy. It doesn't matter the reason that led up to thier behaviour, but thier actions that should be judged. It is possible to have a villain you can sympathise with (eg he is just getting revenge for something) but there is no excuse once they go down a path that leads to others suffering. They are still evil in my book.

As long as the fans of today can convert newer people to this series, then I think the toys will keep being made and profits continue. I'm a fan of mecha shows in general (I always make sure to mention macross as one of my all time favourites to boost awareness) so hopefully people will have fond memories of ova/movie like macross plus simply for the transformaing mecha designs and fights alone due to common interest. As a fan of transforming mecha in particular I hold the vf1 as my favourite. Maybe kawamori should never have killed off Hikaru, misa and minmay and kept the franchise going and fed the fans what they wanted like what they going to try with robotech for people who remember it from the 80s: A massive saga that just keeps going on and on for generations and genrations. It probably would have resulted in new generations of fans wanting to get to know more about the original show (for backstory reasons) than to have them refuse to watch something due to age. (and for fear that because nobody else talks about it, it must mean that it sucks - peer pressure!) It is a shame that one day people will get too old to care about macross. Maybe macross needs an alternate universe story like what has happened with gundam to keep interest with noobs? Still I would be happy if they kept doing side stories here and there. If that translates into toys being made of all new valks (like VF0) I will not worry one bit. I believe a fans job is also to help pass the torch on to others who are non fans. If fans seperate themselves into camps and think of themselves as being wierd for liking a 20 year old show then others will really think you are wierd and tend to distance themselves from you for fear they will be wierd too if they hang with you. (rather than being curious and wanting to know more about it) The image should be changed from "wierd guy who likes this old stuff", to "this guy has class and taste and knows his mecha shows. Macross was a classic deserving of recognition, so owning toys and vintage stuff from this series shows how lucky he was to be around when it was still around and popular." That is the attitude others should have. They should admire the collection due to how long it's been since new toys were made of it. There may not be another series made like it again. So if people do see something they have not heard of, rather than hide them in a closet, why not explain, inform and introduce them to it and maybe they will like it and get into it themselves? Maybe even lend them your dvd to watch it and see what they say and maybe the fanbase can grow? That has been my philosophy. If they don't share you taste in anime then move to another person and begin converting others who you think might like it if you recommend the show as something worth watching.

Happy 46th Birthday To Hory Froating Head!
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to UN Spacy's topic in Movies and TV Series
So why do we celebrate the 46th birthday? Was that the first time humans witnessed the anti gravity device inside it to make it float? Like in Macross Zero where the AFOS head joins with the AFOS body to become the birdman? -
I think it was a bit of both. He is just a kid, not old and "experienced" womaniser like roy, but minmay isn't the type to act slurmty and easy just because she is famous. Realising this, you wouldn't want to come on too strong too quickly, for fear of offending the person. Her movie version where she kisses hikaru was just acting at first. And the paparazzi took advantage of it to make it look like she is a slurmty bitch in front of everyone. Note the bridge bunies reaction. "That is disgusting. No innocence at all, it was just a facade.". Obviously she was stressed about this because maybe her image was destroyed and they think she had a secret toy boy or lover who she uses for sex while not onscreen or something. Playing with someone's heart, phucking them, then dumping them when they see something better they can get. Of course as she realised she was lonely late in the tv series after realising her dream, that is when she wanted comfort from hikaru so I see it as "wanting comfort from a partner who will hold me" (kaifun had left at this point) not a "lust" or "one night stand" sex thing. Given those circumstances it was easy for Hikaru to score. -Misa is lonely and scares off the men. -Minmay is lonely but fickle. (her attitude change after the rescue under the skin of the sdf1) Two lonely ppl competing for the same guy = easy. Hikaru scoring = being lucky. (he didn't have to put in any effort, they just fell into his lap)

Macross, Attack Of The Clones!
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to Cabbit Commando's topic in Movies and TV Series
But I mean ones that even the people who built the cannons didn't know about. They helped start the unification wars as a way to control the conflict on both sides in secret while reaping the profits from all the deaths. Remember they want to control the world from behind the scenes and kill off as many people as possible, having foretold the exact time when the SDF1/ASS1 would hit earth or be "allowed to escape" the clutches of thier enemies, by information handed to them by thier alien informants. ie the faction of the pc that wants earth as thier new home until the PC are all wiped out by the protodevlin. It was never an "accident" they escaped from thier dimension to mind control the EVIL series. The experiment was designed to unleash them from thier hell until such time as they could then use people like basara as a leash to control the damage the out-of-control PD can do after thier work had been done wiping out the PC. Once the PD had been sealed they can begin thier new plan to control the galaxy with the building of thier galactic empire again. Something that would take several generations to accomplish. One problem poses itself: Basara didn't seal the devils as they had planned and instead helped them become good guys. It matters little to them though since he saved the galaxy from destruction and allows them to continue thier secret plan for the galactic dictatorship. Ok it's my little piece of fan fiction but it helps the story make sense for me. -
Macross, Attack Of The Clones!
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to Cabbit Commando's topic in Movies and TV Series
I think there might have been underground cities that kawamori didn't tell us about. Maybe something like in space battleship yamato but only for the men who had the connections and power. Millions of elite humans were frozen as part of a secret project to reseed the world with thier "superior" bloodline after the coming invasion of the aliens which the earlier ancestors had made a pact with and promised to give them ownership and control of earth in exchange with melding thier alien DNA within thier bloodline of humans. This explains the differences in opinion of the rival factions in the PC (some trying to save earth while others wanting earth destroyed. Procacha wanted to wipe us out, while the opposing PC faction who had made the secret pact with humans wanted us to survive and so sabotaged thier efforts to destroy us) and why earth was chosen as the new beginning to start over. The prophets within PC saw the end was near for thier civilisation and thought to peacefully co-exist with weaker species (human) who would pose no threat since they had no technology. The only problem was the secret of the islanders was discovered in Mac 0 and a huge investigation into man's origins was established to find out the truth. Thus the true reason for going into space to inherit whatever superior technology the PC had and give it to the elite who had been living in the underground cities for centuries plotting to control earth since ancient times. These plotters knew they would one day inherit the knowledge from the heavens and create a kingdom in space for themselves one day, and bided thier time waiting for the PC to finally collapse from within before making thier move. Technology was kept away from the eyes of normal non-hybrid alien humans, and used to reseed earth with thier DNA to evolve our species to be more like themselves. Basara was probably one of these which explains his powers that no one else has. Similar to those two girls in macross Zero the power lies dormant within themselves but only a select few have true powers based on thier genetics. Most who are pure humans, probably have very little spiritua powers, while those who are closer to alien, seem to exhibit stronger powers. I predict once un spacy gets the secret technology from the PC (like that tiny AFOS which can shoot massive death beams) and makes the most advanced weapons, they wil then create a galactic empire similar to star wars where they will then use that power to crush all other peaceful and weaker alien species and force them into slavery. But only the highest level know this plan. It's so obvious now why basara is the only one with anima spiritua and can control the protodevlin so easily while others can't. He might be the equivalent to aerith from final fantasy 7 and descendant of part of the branch of humans in ancient times who chose to interbreed with PC in thier "atlantean" times. (ie the underground city we saw in DYRL) -
Yes this is the one I own. It has always puzzled me why people keep buying the older release? Maybe they think it is better than the FP version? *Shakes head.* *Hugs VF11B FP*. Spatula make this an important, albeit expensive lesson: Read reviews first first before buying anything. Before I got into buying any yamato including 1/48 I read a few of graham's reviews of the toy (and all the different releases with improvements and fixes) and saved myself the pain before forking over the $ Same thing with the toynamis and why I won't buy any until QC is fixed. For people who don't even open the box of the thing (a MIB collector) this isn't such a big deal though. (this is what I suspect the toynami MPC toys are: things that are not really designed to be touched or played with like the superposables.) review page of yamato valks: (covers the 1/72 vf11B w FP. Click the thumbnail to read the review) http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_toys_yamato.htm ^ comes boxed in fighter mode so it will be easy to identify from earlier version
-
Ok. Must suck to find out the hard way. I was lucky I read up on the earlier versions before shopping around for vf11. When I got into the 1/72 line the FP version was available and I was happy. I think fighter mode is the best mode to have it displayed in. But it is still cool to know that the toy actually does transform. That is why anything that is expensive I tend to research and read reviews first before commiting as I hate stuff that is easy to break.

The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread
1/1 LowViz Lurker replied to Montarvillois's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well so long as you have it leaning against a wall or something it is fine and can hold that pose. No danger of falling over. I just wish there was some way that they designed it so those hinges were really ultra stiff so that it was designed to also be posed in that manner. Too bad I guess. -
Well if you are desperate you might want to ask if anyone is willing to sell thier Yamato "VF11b w FP" version to you. From what I have heard this is strong and won't break, being a later release. No fragile hips probs. The fast packs as you can see in the attached image look chunky compared to thier lineart though.

double post deleted

I only own the VF11B w Fast Packs release (bought from HLJ) which has pretty strong hips. Althought I don't transform it often. (I leave it in fighter mode) Maybe you should get one of those instead? (see attachment) Those shoulders can be a bitch to transform but lining them up is doable. After all the fast pack version already comes packaged in fighter.

What I would like to see is a robin hood style story of a guy who is in one of the gangs and becomes a kind of do-gooder protecting who he thinks are his family and believes that he is only the way he is because the gangs are what are needed to survive in this world. The weak and poor perish and fed upon by others like packs of wolves so it is only right that he be the way he is. He is a symptom of the world that is imperfect. His need to steal becomes his only means to survive. (a bit like the chic in Cowboy bebop) Then max like a father figure comes along to set him straight. And tries to get him away from it. Of course the twist would be the MFP although corrupt from within, try to set up the gangs to fight against each other in a massive gang war to kill them all off in one clean sweep. The reminaing survivors are then killed off by the police and peace is restored.. Or is it? (the kid goes anakin skywalker and see the dark side of abuse of authority. Many of the people within are sadistic and enjoy seeing others suffer. Despite having a badge they are cruel and inhumane.) This is where we see a series of revenge kills by remnants of the gangs and this time the innocent join up with the gangs who are minorities (formerly peaceful people) on thier side. Reasons being they had thier sons killed by the MFP and believe the cops were too harsh on thier kid. Due to a shortage of good drivers, Max is then used to hunt down the gangs involved and ends up killing lots of innocent people. Max goes crazy again realising the system has failed, and defects again, wandering the world alone, but this time knowing he was used to kill the innocent rather than just failed to protect them like in Mad Max 1. The bad guys and good guys is not so clear cut. end of the first half of the movie. This time however it is learnt that the person behind all the revenge kills was that kid who was angry at having his best friends killed by the MFP in the beginning of the movie. The kid pretends to be in need of help to lure max into a trap, and we see a violent stand off between the kid trying to outdo max in driving skill, and max who is aging and lost some of his old skills. Max ends up beating him of course and gives him an Obi-wan-like lecture before giving him a mercy killing. (it was in self defence as the kid had a concealed weapon) Before he dies, the kid confesses he wanted to be just like Max and outdo him, so he could then help others using his influence and skills. Killing the cops was never about revenge for his friends, but to test the MFP so they wouldn't get complacent and let the world slide into chaos like before when they were easily overpowered. (as in the first movie where all the bad guys were protected by thier lawyers and able to get off easily, thus leaving innocents to suffer due to the witnesses being too scared to show up) The kid reasons that killing enough of them might make them wake up to the reality of the gang violence still out there and the young people like himself who were still being recruited by these very gangs to work for them with no other option to go. The kid tells him after I heard you, "Max Rockatansky" were back with the MFP again, I realised there were still good people amongst the bad just as he had innocent good people who ended up in bad gangs. Max reflects on this and realises they are not that much different, protecting people they personally care about but going about it differently. The end. Max learns a lesson in how important it is to protect people from the unjust on both sides (corrupt mfp and the gangs) and then leaves that town. Not a hero this time. Whether he wears the badge or not, does not matter. He reverts back to his old ways as a mercenary rather than hero like in mad max III. I always thought the first movie painted him as kind of cruel but max was still young then and lost his family so it was an emotional response at seeing his friend die in the fire and his family run over which turned him into a heartless zombie. The older max should be more akin to his old self before he went crazy, ("the family man" max) and similar to the character he plays in the patriot. (less of a selfish prick and more humane) Given his age, I would hate to just see him act like the person he was in the first movie. He should have progressed from that stage by now and be too tired to care about getting petty revenge or just to gain oil. I think if mel is going to be in it, let his old age, his injuries, and scars be part of the character of an aged max than to pass the role off to a new face. But because he is old, put him back into a car. This is the horse the lone cowboy rides into town into. Take away the wheels and there is just less of an adventure for max to get into on his journeys. The truck in Road Warrior to me is akin to a horse and carriage and the gangs = the bandits trying to loot travellers with no protection for themselves and whose only defence is to run as fast as they can to escape. So everything in this should be chase scenes and crashes. Not wandering on foot. And it has to be an action movie. I just saw MM1 again and the story really plods along and moves so slow for a mass audience to really get into. Bring in the drama, action, humor (with violence) and a more non-conventional ending than other movies and I will treat this as a serious movie as opposed to as a fan of this TYPE of movie. Max should not be an anti-hero anymore after what he did in the 3rd movie. (he was practically a jesus figure at that point) So the fourth has to take it into a direction beyond what a fan expects. I would like to see him actually feeling a little guilty at the thought of killing this time and regaining his mental health even though he should be aging and going more senile and battered from all the wounds of previous movies. I think this would be a good place to put a "father forgiving the son for his deeds" type angle on the story. Where the person grew up in the poorest slum worked his way to the top and used fear to control those below trying to take control of the gang, and then at some later point (like in god father III) the kid had intentioned to go legit after a certain point in his adult life. I think the "Fury" part of the title should be more a description of the anger at rival gangs wanting revenge for thier buddies being killed by a different group as opposed to the "crazy" kind of mad where max loses control of himself in the first movie to become the zombie max with nothing to live for. If they just have him wanting revenge again it will just get repetitive.

I think people just want it because it looks cool and fits in with the theme of black stealth mech. Ie vf17 and Gamlin's black VF22S in macross 7. I'm not much a fan of the ace pilots like milia with red, and the red vf17. Just seems like a psychological thing: "here I am see if you can kill me!" I like the way the destroids are mixture of earthy color and bright. The zentradi, possibly fighting in space more than on earth (roy mentions they seem more mean in space combat) should just adopt an all-black scheme instead of green, purple, and red and white.. (The zentradi with a gundam "titans elite" paint scheme. ) The more cartoony and anime the color, the less practical. But they look cooler and more distinct if they are important main character in the show. Following fights and understanding what is happening is much easier. I don't see why Roy should have a white VF1S (from the movie) as opposed to a grey VF1S. This is why I think they should release a dark grey VF1S. Grey plus black looks good. Roy's tv flight suit to me is dinstinctive as well because it suits the black and white skull and bones. Black, white, grey are good combination imo. But so far I have much prefered the dark paint schemes like black VF17S and VF22S over the primary color ones. (ie red Qrau, Red VF1, Red VF17S, Blue VF22S, Red VF22s etc) Grey will always look cool though, as seen with the VF11. I was always sad seeing the greyish CF in macross 7 die so easily. Traditionally the CF always get color suggesting it is dull and mass produced so it doesn't deserve attention, while the hero is the guy with all the nice bright flashy sportscar colors who can afford to show off. But for a toy that you want for realism there is a clash between wanting an anime style figure (the bright colors for the show offs) or a military themed valk with a specific look and role. (generic pilot) For enemy mecha I like green Qrau over purple. For people who perform elite tasks (like the titans in Zeta gundam) they get black (gamlin) or dark blue (guld in yf21 and the emerald force in macross 7. Blue being a cool, calm, relaxed color to reflect the style of attack as opposed to hot color). And for flashy pilots they get the bright stuff due to wanting to show off. (max with blue and milia with red, basara with red, angel birds with primary color, Char Aznable with bright red on his zaku etc)
-
They were all sorts of customs seen in macross 7 robot carnival episode. Maybe make it into one of those. joking It's role is to hide amoungst the sound force mechs to blend in with the bright colours so they are harder to see. Red Qrau, Yellow Qrau, Purple Qrau, Red VF1, blue VF22S. All the colors of the rainbow of the sound force with thier music playing. The enemy will be so confused they won't be able to see the polka dot custom hiding behind all the color.

The only info is that it won't be the same color from the existing one. I wonder if it will be a limited edition or a mass produced low vis? I will just assume if it doesn't say LE on the box it is going to be reissued like all other valks. For those who talked about not caring about colectibility this would be a good test.. If anyone would care if the lv was a common release and if they'd still buy it knowing this. (ie that is there are some who do collect for thier own personal reason ad the satisfaction of knowing they have every variant of every valk that was released, while some collect hoping the value will rise over years and exploit the desperate rich kid with money to burn who missed the boat at the time it was still available at normal price. There might be an incentive for these types to just rush out and buy multiples for that express purpose. Either way yamato wins ) Well coming from someone who owns 94 (!!) valks I can totally see where you are coming from. But "think of the children" who do have a specific type in mind and are at the mercy of those evil ebay sellers who will boost the price of an already expensive toy knowing some types are in high demand due to being harder to find. I think in the long run it can only mean good things for fans whether you are new and starting out, or as a person waiting for more different releases. (I personally want them to start some mac plus valks - the yf 19 has got to be a popular mech) Seriously though: one of these days you have got to take each and every one of those valks out, transform them into battoid mode for us all to see them, and pose them in a strategic formation as if they were about to march off to fight an army of zentradi, then take a picture of the battle. I would like to see a rows of battroid all ready for combat, similar to what you see in the tv series when the destroid are all lined up shoulder to shoulder in preparation for the deadalus manuever before they are about to fire everything. I just got an idea: I think all LE should be packaged in battroid mode for dramatic effect. I think having the box sitting up tall like the Qrau might make people think it was that much more special. I don't know why but I have always been more a fan of seeing mecha in thier robot form than thier vehicle form. Probably because I like to put them in dramatic poses and stuff. The other advantage of packaging it that way is the head turret will stand out more so it doesn't look so samey.

Ah good so it technically means the original is still a genuine LE (not like CF release) to not piss off the collectors and ebay sellers with thier outrageous asking prices. I wish they would do this to the VB6 monster. Do up a weathered version with different paintscheme. Still haven't seen many custom of this..
