  1. Thank you so much for sharing that, I think I bought the last one. For those wondering what the big deal was, it was priced at just $91.63 with free shipping. Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical that the seller is going to deliver, because that price is just too good to be true! If it arrives though, I'll definitely be back to thank you again, ULessa!
  2. In stock on HLJ! Just scored one, woohoo!! http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN986342/Act
  3. Aww man, I have been checking the VF-25F page almost every night on AmiAmi hoping to snag a restock, and the one night I don't check they are up all night. Dang ol' Murphy's Law of collecting.
  4. Thanks, Mommar! That's what I said, noeljim! Wait a sec... haha, I'm sorry noeljm, I think my brain just automatically puts an 'i' in between 'j' and 'm' when I see the letters together in a name. Even just now I had to spend a good few seconds staring at your post trying to figure out what I did wrong, haha. And thank you very much for the transformation video, it was really a great help. It's such a shame that Youtube muted it, even clicking sounds can be useful because then I can listen for how many clicks a certain part was moved or something. I did have the Macross Plus OST disc loaded during my whole ordeal yesterday, so it was almost like watching your original un-muted video, though! I think Yamato's 1/60 YF-21/VF-22 mold was already pretty great (though I also struggled with the transformation, haha), I bought all three VF-22s but I never bought the YF-21 because I didn't want to have it without a good YF-19 to accompany it. Really regretting that decision now . I'd be okay with a straight reissue by Arcadia, and it would maybe allow them to keep the cost closer to the original Yamato price. If they can somehow improve the YF-21 to the same degree they did with the YF-19 though, I'd happily open the wallet for that!
  5. Been away from the Macross collecting game for a long while, but I recently had the opportunity to purchase a YF-19 at an amazing price from a very generous seller. It arrived last Monday, but aside from putting some missiles on (which are totally awesome, btw) I didn't mess with it much. I've been studying this thread all week so I'll try to avoid being too long winded (most everything I want to say has already been said), but I just have to gush about the fighter mode; I cannot believe how it looks now! Such an incredible improvement over the Yamato. Finally attempted to transform to gerwalk today, and I'm a bit embarrassed at how long it took me, haha. What gave me the most trouble was the gerwalk leg joint just above the main knee joint; for the life of me I could not get that joint to pull out. Watched noeljim's and odeean's transformation videos on youtube repeatedly and I just couldn't understand what I was missing, they made it look so easy but I couldn't do it! I had all but given up when I just kinda pulled downwards lightly in desperation and it came out easy as pie. So obvious to me now, I was pulling back too much and failing to un-tab the tab directly behind the joint . Took me like 30 minutes to come to that realization, I'm so ashamed . Another point of trouble for me was attaching the shoulder FAST packs, the connection points in the shoulders seemed to be slightly too small (especially on the right shoulder). Eventually got them in and now they attach/detach fairly easily, but I ended up rubbing some black paint off the inside of the right shoulder, grrr. I could tell it was going to happen just by how tight the connection was, but it's impossible for me to have FAST packs and NOT attach them! In hindsight I should have stopped and filed down the connecting peg on the packs a bit, but at least it's a relatively out of the way spot that's easy to touch up. Oh, and I completely agree with the general sentiment that they really should have used magnets for the leg FAST packs. Those gripes and difficulties aside, gerwalk looks so freakin good! With the FAST packs on and under-wing armaments loaded it is just so cool to me! I love the lines of this valk so much. I want to go for battroid mode, but I think I should study up a bit more before attempting it, haha. I'm also concerned about scuffing the black paint around the cockpit so I want to find a good low-adhesive tape to protect that area beforehand. Anyways, some shots of my great accomplishment for the day.
  6. Together with the Toynami Regult, the VF-1S is probably my favorite Macross toy. Still holding on to the hope that the Hi-Metal YF-21 and YF-19 will get released someday... To my great surprise, I noticed that HLJ actually has the VF-1S back in stock in case anyone is interested: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN961438
  7. Got in the latest Generations wave today. Every single figure is a hit but Wheeljack in particular is a thing of beauty, just love how he looks.
  8. HLJ's sale is over. Best place to buy them is from AmiAmi: LINK Scroll down a bit and all three VF-22S are there. Don't be afraid to place a back order with AmiAmi if you want the Max, they tend to fill them within a few days!
  9. Found RTS Wave 2, Wreck Gar is awesome! If you see him in stores though, do watch out for the paint apps on the top of the bike. Mine was missing half of one of the flame apps. No big deal, can head back to the store and exchange it, but just a heads up.
  10. No news of the YF-21 at all since they showed that prototype. So it's kind of good news because at least they haven't officially canceled it (which would likely be a death sentence for the YF-19 as well), but the silence is also unsettling. Just going to have to wait and see, maybe we'll get some new information with this year's toy shows.
  11. One foot on my VF-1S is nice and tight, but the other was loose enough that I could pop it off the ball joint without much trouble. What I did was just take the foot off, put a single drop of super glue inside the joint cup, then I reattached it to the ball and just wiggled the foot around til the super glue dried. Worked perfectly, glued foot is just as good (if not a bit better) than the other one.
  12. Thanks eriku! @nexxstrait I hope this is acceptable. Not pretty, but you can read it with only a bit of eye strain .
  13. Got the Battle in Space two pack this evening as well. My first experience with these molds, so I was really looking forward to it. Rodimus is nice, but not as nice as the Generations Red Alert I picked up the day before; he's kinda short and the articulation in his arms is pretty limited. Cyclonus on the other hand is wonderful! His robot mode in particular is just gorgeous, with wonderfully effective light piping. Definitely be sure to study the figures in their boxes very carefully though, almost all the sets in the store had very obvious stress marks on Rodimus' arms. I cherry picked the best one, but had to put up with a very crooked rub sign on Rodimus (some time with a hair dryer fixed that, though).
  14. HLJ is on winter holiday til the 6th so service will be slow until they get back, says so on the front page.
  15. Thanks! The Regult was a major reason behind my purchase of the Hi-Metal as well, but it also worked the other way around! I'd known about the Regult, and thought it looked great, but I didn't have anything in scale with it so I passed on getting one. Not a big fan of the VF-1J, so when the Hi-Metal of that was released, I wasn't interested. The news of the VF-1S with Strike parts, however, really caught my attention and when it was finally released I kept waffling about whether or not to get it. Then I remembered, the 1/100 Toynami Regult! That instantly sealed the deal for me so I ordered the Hi-Metal and a Regult the same day . Just in the nick of time too, as the regular Regult appears to be pretty much sold out everywhere now.
  16. Just having some fun on an strangely snowy day here in Nevada. Starting to get the hang of using this camera properly, discovered that setting the ISO manually is often much better than letting the camera adjust it automatically.
  17. Wonder if they'll include a special box with Kakizaki's set . Do they specifically say they aren't including a strike cannon part? The pictures could just be representing the proper DYRL load out (1As weren't outfitted with strike cannons, after all).
  18. Pitroad's 1/24 command vehicle is out! Anyone have a preorder on it? Really looking forward to pics of the kit in-hand. http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&vgForm=ProductInfo&sku=TOY-RBT-1314&template=default/product/e_display.html
  19. For what it's worth, Millia is my favorite out of all three. Just something about the red they used for her, combined with the white highlights makes it look great to me. Gamlin's is cool as well, but he feels a bit plain since he only has yellow highlights around the engine and the grey areas blend in with the dark blue of his valk. More importantly he doesn't pair as well with Max .
  20. Pretty sure I saw both those PCCs at Toys R Us, but I could be mistaken. All the rest definitely aren't in stores yet. Here's Generations Wave 7, looks to be a good one!
  21. I wonder if Wheeljack is going to use the Tracks mold from Reveal the Shield, because we've seen a Wheeljack repaint of that Tracks but it was supposed to be released under the RTS line.
  22. Glad it worked out for you! @troyness I got pictures for you and Loop! First, some 'before' pictures: Notice how Max can only look straight ahead, while Millia can turn to the side, this is because the cockpit section on Millia is pulled down farther, creating more clearance and exposing the 'neck.' Furthermore, as a result of this Millia is able to lock her nose section in place, while Max's won't. Compared to Max: Well, let's get to work and open Max up to see what's wrong. Here is the first set of screws you need to remove (there's one on the opposite side of the cockpit as well). These screws secure tiny 'arms' that hold the cockpit down while allowing it to move up and down for the transformations: With those screws removed, you can pop the 'arms' off their pegs and lift the cockpit section a bit more. This allows you to get at the next set of screws. Again, there are two screws (with one circled in the picture). These are the most difficult to remove/replace due to their awkward position: Removing these screws allows you to remove the cockpit fuselage and get at the source of the problem. The circled screw is the one that may be sticking out too far and preventing the cockpit section from being pushed down far enough: As you can see from this next set of photos, the screw on this Max is actually fine, it sits flush inside its screw hole. The circled grey block was just really tight so I needed to use more force to push it down . But, notice where the screw sits when the block has been properly pushed in; obviously if that screw were sticking out you wouldn't be able to get the cockpit to push in all the way: "Keiichi, you idiot," you're thinking, "you probably just needed to use more force on your other VF-22S' too!" Well, I may be an idiot, but I'm not stupid! ...or something . Here is why I was reluctant to use more force. The screw on the left is the one taken from Max at the problem area, while the screw on the right was taken from Millia in the same spot. Note how much larger the head of Millia's screw is, it will NOT sit flush inside the screw hole. I removed the same screw from Gamlin's VF-22S: So basically, the wrong sized screw was used on Millia and Gamlin. As a result, the head of the screw was poking out and stopping the cockpit from being pushed all the way in. Unlike Frogze, I was not able to screw the screw further in, the head was just too large. So, I just took the screw out, and everything still functions perfectly well. Once you've confirmed the problem, just put everything back together, here is a reference shot of how the cockpit armor needs to be positioned when reassembling:
  23. Sorry I sold off my spares before you got a chance to reply to my PM! Was going to be passing the post office on Sat. morning so I really wanted to get a buyer ASAP to save on time/gas. I think I may stop by Target tomorrow to try to pick up another set, if I'm only able to find one of the pair, would you still be interested? PM received .
