  1. Haha, that's a very accurate description of exactly how my attempt went too. I'll give it another shot sometime; just knowing that it is possible (and difficult) to get the right booster fully locked-in is pretty reassuring. Thanks!
  2. I've followed the thread pretty closely since its inception, and the only advice I could recall was to ensure that all three connection points were locked into place. Unfortunately, that's exactly what's giving me trouble. As I said, on the left side everything lines up perfectly with no problem and the booster snaps in easily, but on the right side it just seems like nothing matches up. I dunno, guess things just aren't clicking for me.
  3. Put the boosters onto my VF-19 for the first time today (I've been keeping it in gerwalk/battroid, and I'm not a fan of having the boosters on in those modes), and like pretty much everyone else the right side booster won't fully attach securely. I know there's three connection points for the boosters; two on the wing root and one on the innermost hardpoint. The right side booster attaches to the hardpoint connection just fine, and while I can get the booster to grip the wing root connection points, they won't stay connected there and immediately pop off those points. It's so odd because the left booster attaches so easily. For people who were able to successfully get the right booster fully attached, what was your trick? I was, however, happy to find that the booster stays on surprisingly well with just the hardpoint connection so it's not that big a deal, it'd just be nice to have it attached properly.

Hah yeah, the end caught me off guard too. It's definitely looking good. Nice to see they've added the UN Spacy tampo to the legs after all (though the font could be a little skinnier).
  5. Great pic/pose on that TV CF!
  6. Dang, good observation. I'm rewatching the scene in episode 2 where the 0Ds are refueling at aerial tankers before the training session, and it does look like the 0D's gunpod in the episode is much more forward than it is on the Arcadia. Watching further into the episode though, there's a scene where Shinn's 0D is lifting off from the beach in gerwalk mode, and you get a very clear look at how the gunpod is mounted on the arm. The Arcadia's notches seem pretty much dead on with what's shown in that scene. So perhaps Arcadia was going for gerwalk/battroid accuracy when the gunpod is stowed on the arm. Thanks for the link Senpai, and thanks for your input as well, spanner!
  7. Do Flight Pose stands still have that issue where they leave marks over time at the points the stand makes contact with the valk?
  8. Are those Jolly Rogers on the inside of the tail fins accurate? Looks a bit odd. The thing is that they DID have a non-scratching solution back with the Yamato release (magnets!). To pay such a premium for the Arcadia valks and have an inferior attachment method is a bit annoying.
  9. Great pics spanner! The green looks excellent. Wasn't planning to pick this up, but my Brera 27 could certainly use a wingman...
  10. Thanks! Haha, I didn't even consider that! You're not being rude, you're being LEWD!
  11. After practicing with the YF-29B, I finally worked up the courage to transform my Alto 29 to gerwalk for the first time. Not much of a pose, but I've had this shot in mind for a while! @sh9000 Haha, what a perfect backdrop for cannon fodder.
  12. Looks great, though I hope the stickers being used for the skull and crossbones in various locations is strictly a placeholder...
  13. Nice! Now this is the news I've been looking forward to!
  14. Cool that the art design on the box is consistent with the VF-0D. No UN Spacy tampo on the FAST packs is less cool.
  15. Interesting, thanks for the insight into the Japanese brick-and-mortar prices, calubin_175. 21K for an Alto YF-29 with supers? Dang, that's awesome! You're lucky to find just the valk alone for that much on Mandarake's site. And it's nice to see that we didn't pay that much more importing the YF-29B; paying a 2000JPY premium for the YF-29B is certainly easier/cheaper than buying a plane ticket to Japan. Had the YF-30 hang out with the YF-29B today! I was lazy so I only put the YF-30 in the traditional gerwalk mode (ie the intakes are still attached to the fuselage), rather than the true YF-30 gerwalk with the waist joint.
  16. Wow, those wings are really eye-catching, nice build! Awesome T-800! I can't believe how realistic that looks, at first glance that first picture looks like it could be a screen grab from the movie. Awesome shot, those lights are so cool!
  17. My Avengers! Iron Man Mk VI standing in until Mk 45 arrives. Enjoying the heck out of Hulk and Cap. I can certainly understand the complaints about Hulk's articulation; he's got plenty of joints but the range of motion isn't the best for several of them, but he just looks so dang good and is fun to mess around with. Really looking forward to Mk 45 and Hulkbuster!
  18. Very cool pics, treatment! Love the RX-00SG Squidy, haha. Dang, sorry to hear that. I've heard even Amazon still has outstanding preorders to fill, so it sounds like the domestic Drumlo stock has been slow to distribute (or worse, that available stock was much lower than anticipated). In any case, I hope you're able to get your hands on a Drumlo soon; it's one seriously lovely RD!
  19. Sweet JASDF fighter pics! Nice call on the similarities to the F-2 scheme, Sildani. Transformed my 29B to gerwalk, my first time transforming a 29 (never transformed my 29 Alto). The 29 has some serious junk in its trunk in gerwalk, haha. I really like it, though! And the ability to rotate the outboard engines really shines in this mode. That sucks, I know what you mean about RSAL being sometimes more nerve-wracking than unregistered! The infrequent tracking updates plus signature required delivery can be a nasty combo. Unregistered SAL also tends to be faster than RSAL because it doesn't have to go through the same checks/security measures. It's been explained to me by friendly postal workers at the post office I frequent that RSAL can be extra slow because registered packages always need to be stored in specially secured areas under lock and key, then someone needs to sign off on each package any time it enters/leaves the secured area. Still, I can't bring myself to abandon the small amount of peace of mind that the tracking and limited insurance coverage RSAL provides. Hope you get the chance to pick up your valk soon! I have to agree, the YF-29B is a real looker! I know the gloss finish Bandai uses on the 29s has its detractors (and I certainly wouldn't mind a matte finish 29), but the gloss works wonderfully with the 29B's dark blue. Looks fantastic in-person, kind of reminds me of a Blue Angel.
  20. Thanks for the kind words all! @ChaoticYeti, yeah, getting the 25G for a cheap price was definitely one of my luckier scores. Though the savings I made there were mostly used up on the 25S armor. @akteon, I've never played Macross 30 either, but knowing that the YF-30 and YF-29B are rival valks in the game makes them auto-awesome in my book. The blues used for the YF-29B are especially attractive in-hand, so it's definitely a worthy addition to any collection. @spanner76, haha, well, considering my cheapo camera and my photography skills (or lack thereof), I'll probably leave most photos to the professionals like Saburo. Grats on the valk, and that edited pic is awesome! Great set-up, love that pose on Optimus!
  21. My haul for the week! The 25S armored parts arrived 20 minutes ago, so I'm just in time to join the armored fun. With the 25S armored parts, I've finally completed my 25-series collection (all valks and the appropriate super/armored parts for each one), woohoo! Now I just need to find a place to display them all, haha.
  22. That's a good change though, right? Or is it a bad one? I can't tell anymore.
  23. Man, that's like one of my favorite things about the 19's gerwalk. It's an uncommon configuration that I feel the 19 pulls off very well (unlike the VF-17's gerwalk, which I wholly agree is horrendous, haha). Gerwalk is my second favorite mode because it contains elements of my favorite mode (fighter!) while having the limbs and poseability of a more conventional mecha. I also love what a practical mode it is in-universe, sort of a jack-of-all-trades mode that can be effective in an array of situations. Above all else though, the silhouette of a valk in gerwalk is just so distinctly Macross, it's the mode that scream "this is Macross!" to me more than any other. Very cool, thanks for doing this mickyg! About the earlier mentions of the white edges showing when printing/cutting these out with paper, maybe carefully running the edge of the cut-out along the tip of a sharpie would help mask that? Gonna have to give these a shot when I have the chance.
  24. I love the 19's gerwalk mode, the way the arms come out over the top of the valk just really does it for me for some reason. Considering how difficult it is to remove the packs that attach to the arm, I personally think never putting them on in the first place is a smart move! That's what I thought as well, and grats on the Advance!
  25. Looking better and better! I really hope they stick with this vibrant white plastic they've been showing. And man, I never really noticed before that the 0S only has the black strip across its chest. I always thought he had a stripe of yellow too (like on the 1S) and I kept wondering when it would be added to the proto.
