That's depressing to hear. Hopefully Bandai will reach parity with Yamato during that time.
-
Yamato is saying late november. For those of you guys who are ordering this with me, our shipment is confirmed but check your PM for payment information.

Any gappiness I can forgive since this is the first 19 toy, ever, that has the compact nature of the torso done correctly. Both the hi-metal and the yammie yf- 19 look like they spent time on the rack compared to the line art.
-
post a more recent pic!

I wouldn't be interested in a repaint but I wouldn't be interested in a TV accurate version either. Not at this price anyways.
-
Sad, just like in the show he ends up with the box.
-
wow. most impressive.
-
I'm thinking those side panels are meant to fold up to hide some of that side gap a little more
-
the hi-metal doesn't have landing gears either. The yammie version doesn't have the benefit of just being able to take inconvenient bits and pieces off, they all have to go somewhere.
-
that's some craziness right there.

Stripers + Guns + Mazinkaizer = WFT?
eugimon replied to Twoducks's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
comes out in January 2011, a 3 part OVA with the the other two coming out in February and March. -
You also need to consider that the dx vf-25 wasn't designed with its own armor packs in mind. The vf-25 got a minor retooling adding holes to the back plate in for armor attachments. This was a pretty horrible idea because that back plate is ridiculously fragile to begin with due to the poor plastic quality and the poor engineering. It's not uncommon to see cracking around the mounting holes. In fighter mode, the leg armor significantly alters the geometry of the wing glove attachment to the leg. Which stresses the wing glove joints, resulting in more cracking or at the best some pretty alarming stress marks. This wouldn't have been an issue had Bandai designed the leg properly but they didn't. The forearm armor attaches in a manner similar to the old 1/55 chunky monkey arm armor. Not only is this incredibly flmisy but it actually breaks the transformation in fighter mode as the armor attachment latch does not allow the forearm and the shoulder to close properly. This makes attaching the gunpod a pain in the ass as the tolerance is zero. The leg armor requires you to actually remove the ankle cowling off the DX and attach them again because they couldn't be bothered to make a more elegant solution. The large boosters on the back, aside from helping to cause cracks, also flop about because the wing glove lock on one side of the DX just doesn't work. So you have a nice fragile hinge supporting a heavy, unsecured weight. Add to all that, the whole thing is floppy as hell. Metal on metal shoulder hinges get loose really quickly. Which is nice because the plastic seems to out gas and contract causing most of the friction joints to self loosen over time. The whole thing seems like it was designed by different teams and then cobbled together. For instance. The shoulder looks like it should be articulated but the pauldron on top of it pretty much stops any articulation past 3 degrees or so. The tail fins don't cant out at any angle, they just hang straight down because the leg panel covers the tail fin hinge completely. It's just a complete mess. Save your money and the aggravation of blowing 200 bucks on this shiny POS.

talking specifically about the vf-25 design.

I heard Yamato's CEO was going to visit North America to try and open up the market and he's going to spend 200 million dollars a day! ZOMG!

I love how we went from "the hi-metal line might end" to "yamato is going to go out of business!" I love the internet.

ah, that's good. Thanks for the clarification.

wait, what? I thought the 1s was a regular release, or are you saying there's an exclusive version as well?

I'm kinda expecting some autobots to show up at any moment when I look at that picture.

I robot the movie is unrecognizable from the book. If they're just going to make Pern: Hip young kids with flying dragons fight evil... then why call it Pern in the first place?

really enjoyed it as well but the ending killed it for me. -
There's being critical and then there's being a troll. The two things are pretty different. Example: Critical: Personally, zombies don't do it for me but I checked out the show because I like apocalypse shows. Troll: Zombies are lame, I can't believe people like them. Maybe if you're a child. See, you can express your opinions without insulting everyone who has different opinions from you. That's the difference between "Critical" and "Troll".
