  1. well, it could very well be that yamato doesn't have the license to do any more valks and they wanted to capitalize on the licenses they do still have. Without knowing what's going on with the licenses, it's pretty pointless to get upset over what yamato is choosing to release, imo. They may not have much or any choice in the matter.
  2. I've pared down my toy collecting to macross only. I've almost completely lost interest in transformers and gundam and honestly, I've never been a fan of the old super robot shows so I have none of those at all. I'm pretty tired of the vf-1 as well, I'll be getting the 1/60 for their posability and just to be able to display them in scale with the other 1/60s. I prefer to have a bunch of unique valk designs than a lot that all look essentially the same. Of course, there's something amazing about the really massive collections like kensei's and godzilla's but I'm NEVER going to have a collection of that size so I just don't see the point o having 10 vf-1a with the only thing differeniating them being the color of the stripe on their chest.
  3. yeah, honestly, I thought they could have done the infected with sfx and they could just tweaked the mouths with CGI.
  4. yup, I don't get why people would be upset, unless they were doing the whole "investment" thing. If you like your 1/48s (like me) good for you and if you want an in scale vf-1 to go with all the other yamato valks (like me) than good for you. No one is forcing anyone to buy these, or sell those or whatever. Just get what floats your fancy. For me, even with the low hanging arms, I think the 1/48 fighter mode is superior (based on the pics so far) to the new 1/60 and that happens to be the mode I like the best. But I also appreciate the increased posability and more anime accurate batroid mode of the new 1/60 so I plan on getting a few.
  5. It's been confirmed by Graham that the yf-21 will come with FAST packs and guns and stand.
  6. yup yup, the whole arm assembly, from the eblow joint up through the shoulder should have been machined out of aluminum. It's thin and there's so much stress put on it when the arm is pulled out during transformation.
  7. heh, as awesome as the new 1/60 line looks, I won't be getting 1 of everything. i'm pretty sure I'll just be getting "key" designs/color schemes.
  8. ah, okay... so as I understand it, if your player and AVR support HDMI, then you can send 8 discreet channels. so as long as the player can decode the format, it doesn't matter if your AVR does. Your AVR will playback the audio in pro logic IIx, same if you're player and AVR can support 8 analog inputs.
  9. you're thinking of tali the quarian. Liara is the blue alien girl in all the promo stuff, so I haven't ruined nuthin.
  10. both DTS-HD and Dolby true HD will get down stepped to a lossy "core" track. As long as the receiver supports dolby digital and/or DTS.
  11. No way, liara is way cuter than ash, even if her head looks like a starfish with a face. But a cute face. Besides, Liara can juggle a whole room full of baddies and send them flying into a wall and blow up turrets with nothing but the power of her mind.
  12. yamato has always given more weight to the fighter mode, unlike transformers which gives more weight to bot mode. In order to get the yf-21 to have the sort of thick legs shown in some scenes of the anime, you'd have to have a big belly, you'd end up with something like the 1/72 yf-21 and if that were the case, why even bother? That was the number 1 complaint about it, the second being the shoulders just sticking out there.
  13. yay, we can all move on now. edit:: those extra grey bits are the fast packs, and they looked like that in the anime as well. They're removable so no worries.
  14. then what are you complaining about? the yf-21 has skinny legs and it has its tail fins hanging off the forearms.
  15. Merry Christmas!

Now, get back to work on your display shelves! Don't let a little thing like the release of the perfect transformation 1/60 Vf-1 line get in your way!

  16. the legs at least look like it will be similar, there's still the big calf link present.
  17. upgraded my sound system, str-dg910 and a dayton sub-100.
  18. Personally I like biotics more. I think the powers are more useful for crowd control and they affect both biological and mechanical enemies.
  19. so tack on the 20% price hike that re-sellers charge, plus shipping and you're looking at 140-150 bucks a pop shipped?
  20. I'm quite happy to have been proven wrong.
  21. well played sir, well played.
  22. no worries, sorry I couldn't help. Can you take a top down picture of the backpack and the hinge? I'd like to see how yours is different.
  23. hmm, try refolding the tail fins, which ever one you have on top, fold that one down first this time.
  24. thanks for posting the link! Animation looks pretty good for a series and I liked the battle choreography. I loved all the little and not so little nods to all the various macross shows.
  25. This is the original post: "most civilized nations..." "abhorred" Sorry (removed for offensive content by 'eugimon'), these are loaded words and you know it. And learning not to assume is also something you learn in university, but maybe you missed that class so you could take some extension classes on "how to use your knowledge to be a (removed for offensive content by 'eugimon'), on the internet 101". Edit:: My apologies to Sketchley for immaturely calling him names.
