  1. yeah, Will Smith really sold the fear of the infected in that warehouse scene. I don't think the ensuing encounters would have had the same level of fear and tension if it weren't for how well that scene played.
  2. Got a chance to go see this movie and I liked it overall and I thought it had great effects shots. My one gripe... so, it's the end of the world, but neville has the time to wash and wax up his favorite Ford vehicles?
  3. It would only make it more collectible if there was a small batch of misprints, or if yamato normally release flawless toys. But if they're ALL like that and if the company is known for making poor QC items.... then I would doubt that it would raise the collectibility.
  4. it's funny because it's true. I'm still dreaming of the economy of packaging that we see with bandai and takara.
  5. heh, we pointed that one out way back on page 1.
  6. well, I'm of the opinion that yamato was contractually limited to making any significant changes to the 1/48 line and this will give them the oppertunity to muck around with the design.
  7. I'll be happy with the vf-1d and the vt-1. damn, it's 330am for me... must sleep.
  8. oooh, official virgin road?
  9. Yup, I'm really hoping these come with fast packs and have a sub 100 dollar price point. And I can't wait for the GBP armor for these guys. And this also renews hope for a perfect transformation vf-11.
  10. I just can't believe I'm excited about the vf-1 again. I vaguely recall a thread where I swore I was done with it as well. Oh well.
  11. I do agree about the fighter mode, doesn't compare to the 1/48 imo. I'll get a few of these just because I find the battroid to be the most anime accurate to date. And the double elbow joint... drool.
  12. that clinches it. I've been asking for double jointed elbows forever now...
  13. uhm... do I see a double joint on the elbow there???
  14. nice, thanks for the update! I guess I won't be sleeping anytime soon.
  15. Don't force the bump any further than what you see here. When the back pack is raised, the hinge will look like this:
  16. soooo, there's a rumored 1/60 perfect transformation VF-1 in the works and you're asking about something other than it???
  17. well, the chest area of the battroid looks hollow and it looks like tabs on the underside of the back plate for locking in the legs in fighter mode.
  18. so is this confirmation that yamato did not get the macross F license? I can't imagine they would cannibalize their own sales unless something big happened.
  19. I think I'll be keeping my 1/48s... based on that preview pic, I think I like the fighter mode of the 1/48 better, but the new 1/60 battroid looks damn good. The nose cone is much more accurate to the line art.
  20. wow, it looks good. The proportions on the arm is much more accurate and it doesn't look like the arms hang low in fighter mode. I wonder if the heat shield is still retractable. I'm going to have to get some of these...
  21. edited my post with pictures as requested.
  22. don't, DON'T try to force the back pack up at all, you will break that hinge. The correct way to transform the backpack for battroid: 1. the little antenna on the rear hatch should befully recessed, it should not be sticking out at all. 2. the hatch should be depressed, it should no longer be flush with the back but pressed down past the two nubs on either side. 3. the the back pack gets flipped up but no further pressure should be applied to try and make it sit higher. The top of the backpack should be level with the top of the hatch. 4. the hook on the top of the hatch should now be flipped over to secure the top of the back pack. If you leave the antenna out, you'll stress that joint and it will break. if you force that backpack past being level with the hatch, you will force the joint and it will break.
  23. oh no, the rattling came anytime the flaps or airlerons did anything, or when the pilot throttled up or down or when the landing gears went up or down... it was enough to shake the entire seat and vibrate it like I was sitting on a cheap "massage" chair. And it was definitely coming from the carriage. The overhead noise was just incidental.
  24. having flown air china before, I'll take a coal powered cab before I fly in another plane serviced by china, let alone built there. No offense intended, but the airbus I flew in rattled like a 30 year olf VW rabbit held together with gum and duct tape.
  25. maybe we should all pitch in and get yamato a copy of Word or something. Or hell, just email them the url for dictionary.com. I guess the lesson is: Never underestimate yamato's ability to frak it up.
