Its funny. When I sold my Skywarp like a year ago they were only going about $120. Now they are $240 ish. I guess when you don't constantly rehash molds and know it's not going to be printed the price goes up.- 17121 replies

The idea of G1 is an abstract concept, but it is definable. And it's not really continuity per say in terms of story, but in terms of an Era. It was created after the fact and I think just applying it to the American cartoon doesn't make a lot of sense. You can say these toys and shows are G2 and those over there are not with a fair level of certainty. It's more about classification and marketing. Saying that this character did this in American G1 but then he could do that in godmasterforce.... not so easy. Which is more what continuity is all about.- 17121 replies

Nope, but you you're still wrong. IT is part of G1 if it's Japanese or not. It's not 1.5, or 2. And it's not anything else and that's how it's official branded. Plus it has characters from the American G1 cartoon. Not to mention the toy concepts were concepts used in G1 toys, packaging, and marketing.- 17121 replies

Wrong and wrong. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1_%28franchise%29 In Japan, rather than simply be identified as The Transformers throughout its lifespan, the franchise was rebranded with a new title and a shift in storytelling every year. This led to a collection of mini-franchises within the larger Generation 1 franchise, each featuring their own individual components. They are: 1985 - Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers 1986 - Transformers 2010 1987 - The Headmasters 1988 - Super-God Masterforce 1989 - Victory 1990 - Zone 1991 - Return of Convoy 1992 - Operation Combination- 17121 replies

It's part of the G1 continuity, and franchise, and is most definitely not a G2 toy, so it's G1. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_1_%28franchise%29- 17121 replies

Kind of a mix between that and a gundam haha. It's funny, it's like 80% what 80% of the people on here talk about and like + it's a g1 transformer but people still try to find flaw.s- 17121 replies

I see nothing wrong with people touching up valks at any price. Its your money. Personally I like the piece to complete and fresh from the box as I like to call it. So I wouldn't change a release in that manner as I'm not a hobby guy

I think the almost dying thing was a gag on SDF. He did go nuts with a knife. That was the most badass thing he did. Plus he isn't possibly female, which goes a long way. Or small and mewling.

It was just one guys guess based off another forum. Not exactly scientific.

I just want to see it stand straight up with no assistance haha.

I'd say you'd be mostly fine... though 90's is pretty hot. Maybe put a fan on em in the summer haha

It'll happen. Mr. K wants to do it and it's pretty much all passion projects at this point. Unless they lose money on something.

There seems to be a lot of mysticism involved when it comes to valk storage and display. This article on SNES yellowing pretty much lays it down. Think about it logically. What are you going to have to contend with in a garage? 1. UV rays aren't going to go through a roof of any kind and then go through the box. Not an issue. Anything that blocks visual light, blocks UV light. Make sure your garage doesn't have fluorescent light though, as that will hasten yellowing. 2. Intense heat and then intense cold will accelerate the process mentioned above when mixed with oxygen. So if you don't have a climate controlled garage I wouldn't suggest it. If you live in a place with huge swings in climate it could be an issue, like a desert town. 3. Plastics that yellowed in the box either A. reacted to the plastic/foam in the box that was holding it and hastened the process, or B. it had more trace elements of residues than other pieces produced at the same time. You lost the lotto. That's why they put those holes in plastic bags for toys and such, so there will be some fresh air that isn't just the plastic. The only other consideration would maybe be mold (wet places) and smells. Mold could build up in the cardboards if it's a damp place like a sea town or your basement leaks This could put smells into the boxes, and you could maybe even get mold on your toys over a long enough period of time. Mold grows on anything. Smoke is a no brainer. It will combine with the plastic and yellow it or make it smell. So yeah, if it's climate controlled and dry... you're doing all you can do. The rest is in the hands of the chaos gods. (chemistry)
