They are. And I think you can make an argument that they are works of pop art from a technical and design perspective. I don't see it that much different from guys who collect shoes or vinyl designer toys. It depends on how you present it: A nice display vs a bunch of cheap pieces and clutter. However, having half naked dolls all over your place.. there isn't much argument there. You're a perv haha. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

http://www.tomopop.com/yamamoto-2199-s-rei-serves-up-some-classic-appeal-29961.phtml I'm not really into collecting these PCV figurines of various anime girls... I just think it's kind of creepy for a grown man to have them sitting around. haha. But this one really pops. Love the colors and the helmet.

I didn't say "all" I specifically said Josh and Adam. And I also specifically said some of the other guys do a great job, Veef included. Yes, I like critical reviews. It's all about value for your money. But saying a toy is total crap because you don't know how to transform it and hurt yourself in the process... It's not a giant vinyl Voltron. It takes a little finesse. I also think the way Adam handled criticism of his review was pretty childish and unprofessional. You did this in another thread where you either don't read or don't understand what you read and confused people. haha. Just something I noticed. Nothing personal of course, just a suggestion. A renewal would be fantastic, but I don't think you can beat this thing in Robot mode.

Got the Parachute sack on. It just slots right on. I'd say for $30 bucks shipped it's a lot of value. The Sack has a lot of moving parts and it came with some spare ammo and hip covers. I like that it perfectly matches the gray/blue of the gun and his visor. Looks really good on the SB I thinik. Plus, there is a plastic bag of replacement parts for the joints? I can't tell as I can't read Japanese. Updated my Album with more pics of the upgrade pack: http://imgur.com/a/DRFSV

Ooof. Chunky monkeys? haha. Couldn't you just get a Jetfire for $150? Never seen gunhead. Sounds fun though
-
Obviously marked up items will be the most expensive. So they count haha
-
Macross: VF-0a for $240. Non Macross: I think I paid $260 including EMS shipping for my SOC 48 expansion kit which was a web exclusive. Considering they usually go for 300-400, that's not too bad.
-
Thas what im talking about! haha
-
How so? I think Adam is writing off Macross fans. haha. That's pretty much all I've said and people are turning this into a "save collectiondx" thread. You were only brought into this because somebody mentioned your name...somebody who wasn't me. Anyway, I'm done with this line of discussion. I said my piece and I stand by it.
-
Only one counts! haha
-
Please doesn't include multiple orders of the same toy. I want to know the most you've paid for one single boxed item: used, new, or at auction. GO! Do your most expensive Macross Then your most expensive Non-Macross. Toys only

I blame Min-may.

You know she's not a real person, right?

I don't think so, as I mentioned in my original post and my other post, the other reviewers, including you, do a good job giving a fair expectation. But Atom and Josh are the voice of the site, and it has an impact.
-
They are just preying on people who think Yamato might not make anymore valks. And maybe they want, but it doesn't justify mark-ups like this. If you have the money to burn, more power to you.
-
Why would you need to be fair? I mentioned that already. haha. Scyla, you gotta read the whole post before you jump in like a ninja.
-
I didn't. If you read what I wrote it says when it comes to Josh or Atom be wary of macross reviews. Most of the other reviewers are pretty skilled when it comes to transformation and understanding the toys. Yeah, the quarter is a little floppy, but that doesn't mean the toy is crap. I also feel he should be able to defend his reviews without attacking a whole community for calling him out. Josh and Atom are just pretty dismissive of Macross in general and it's a little annoying. I love collectionDX too, and there are a lot of good reviewers, so don't get me wrong. I also appreciate that they do a lot of work bringing reviews and such, but I think there is space for a show that focuses more on Macross, Bandai, ect. They spend sooo much time on toys like the walking dead, and neca junk. I just roll my eyes a bit when they talki about "Moar diecast!", while totally ignoring the engineering of the piece. A little reading goes a long way. haha
-
I hope you don't mean the collectiondx review? Those guys are pretty clueless and fat fingered when it comes to macross....or any high end tranforming toy. They know like 70s robots and Star wars. Beyond that .... don't trust josh or adams reviews on any toy that requires some finesse haha They also give glowing reviews to anything they get for free, buyer be damned. If they have to spend money they are much more harsh. Stick to anymoon.com for intelligent macross reviews

Yeah that's why I didn't care about the alto 171. That and if I'm going to get a 171 I want a unique color, not a 25f and a 171 that look the same. The green with the detailing really pops.
-
Alto 171. Not the alto 25f. The two 25's are the same parts obviously. Wow people don't read sometimes haha. The alto 171 had indications that they would add details like the 25's but they cheaped out. I am assuming that since this is a web exclusive they will be better..and released later for a renewal.
-
Yo seems cheaper to me. Shrug
-
The ozama aps have moving thrusters and opening bays. The altos do not.
-
Also, the Alto's 171(this is a thread about 171s)don't have moving parts. I'm willing to bet these do. Glad I passed on buying the Alto for $310 Should get the nightmare and these parts for around $250ish
