I think all the super rare 1/48s will be high dollar in the future, and the Low Viz stuff always seems to be hot. I'm still amazed people go nuts over those brownie command 1/60's.

I don't think you can prove that. It does happen. But they can't buy 70-100 items all at once and resell them. Hell, there is a guy on this forum who bought 7 himself so he could re-create a scene from the movie. A lot of them are going to collectors who know better than to wait. If you're complaining about $30 dollar markup I can't help you. I don't understand people who complain about a fairly small mark-up, and then also complain that they can't get the toys they want. Pony up and lay down if you know you want it. This isn't the right hobby if you're on a budget. You could also be industrious and buy an extra for re-sell. And don't knock NY. They are doing you a service by making these available. HLJ and other sites just take their allotted stack, sell it off, and move on to their Vinyl dolls. Yeah, it cool to get them at the cheapest price possible, but they don't give a damn if you get one. At least NY is buying up stock from stores that don't even sell in the states and making it available. To me, it's worth $30-40 extra bucks. You'd be paying that much if you bought through a proxy Japanese buyer anyway. Both of the new renewals were up multiple times over the course of two weeks with plenty of chances to grab one both on NY, and other stores. I got one and NY and another site myself. It sounds like a lot of you don't even like these toys! haha. So why stress pre-ordering/buying something you don't enjoy? Also, some have rose colored glasses when it comes to Yamato toys. They were full of quality issues and can also be annoying to transform at times. People have just forgotten about broken shoulders, loose feet joints, and snapping head lasers. I'm not defending Bandai, or hating on Yamato, I am just trying to be realistic. It sucks that Yamato is gone, but its not the end of the world. We'll see how it shakes out.

Well.. they do originate from a cartoon Personally I think the Yamato 17 looks boring and almost cheap because of the lack of paint details and uniform color. The 171 CF looks amazing.

People complain a lot about pre-orders but the renewals for the Vf-25 CF and VF-25F a few weeks ago were pretty easy to reserve. It just took a little effort. This is coming from a guy who works full time as a professional. If you're serious about collecting it should be a priority. I'm much more concerned with new Macross IP's and a Macross movie in America and what kind of NEW stuff we might see. Yamato was fantastic, and the entire world of transforming toys owes them a debt, but I'm ready to move on to bigger and brighter things. You have to remember all of Yamatos quality issues, especially early on. Even the later versions had some issues.

What kind of paint color would I need? Would i need spray paint or just .. paint paint? haha

I thought you just had a store where people go go and buy things you've already made. I had NO idea you made it specifically for me and expected payment. I know you mocked up some missiles for the VF-25 CF on the fly, so I figured you took requests. If you don't, and it is a considerable time and money investment I do apologize. You can get a V1 scopedog for $60-100 all of these guys are 10-11 inches. The Takara DMZ line is about 8 inches but I doubt you could find one for $100. You might want to check the Max factory line, those should be less expensive and about 6 inches? You can still find deals out there if you look hard enough. haha. I've been using Rinkya a lot too. Even after fees some of the weapons kits are cheaper than evilbay if you buy a few at once and combine shipping.

It's not about getting the licenses. Thats the easy part. It's sinking money into development and production. Obviously Yamato wasn't that profitable if they were bought out.

Bandai isn't sitting on those Renewal Molds. haha.

Are you the type of person that only collects certain kinds of Mecha/figures/models/ect but will pass on similar toys in the same family? What is it about design that either draws you in to spend your money, or make you say you'll pass on a piece? Or, are you just a toy whore who will drop your wallet at any little piece of plastic that comes your way? hahaha. I guess it's interesting to me personally, why people collect. Why they don't collect other things. Why they stop collecting or decide to let go of something. For example, I literally have my breath taken away by Votoms toys. Something about their design, as simple as it is, really sucks me in and forces me to buy/collect and pose them. I will rotate a Votoms toy and just pose it for hours. I'm really drawn to collect them. But then I see Gundams, which were designed by the same fella, and are somewhat similar in some areas, and I think they look ... Silly, cheap, and generic. Obviously Nostalgia is a big factor in toy collecting for most people. It can make one toy seem like the holy grail to one person, and like crap to another. I'm much more interested in what it is about the design itself that captures your eye. I could go into more details about why I think that is on those specific lines, but I'd rather hear other peoples ideas and opinions. I'm very opinionated about what I like and what I don't like, as some of you might know from my posts.

Sell crap you don't need to make room for toys.. and be economical about your space. I'm also thinking about breaking down some boxes soon though. I don't think it will make much difference value wise. I hope Takara bought some! JETFIRE?????????? haha

Not a bad idea, except that sticky metal piece where you screw the door would cause issues. Since I just bought it I'll try to get a new one.
