  1. Watching the video has convinced me that I need to pick up Yotoden, and maybe MD Geist.
  2. Whoa, awesome. That's the first I've ever seen of some of those shows.
  3. I think when you call something a rip-off, you're making a value judgment. You're saying that all of it's features are stolen, and it doesn't have any original, quality content. I do think Mospeada lifted a lot from Macross: fighting aliens, transforming airplanes, an idol singer, etc. But I forgive Mospeada for any theft because it has TRANSFORMING MOTORCYCLES. And the Legioss and Tread are wonderful designs, as well as the Inbit. Hell, if Mospeada hadn't stolen transforming robots and alien invaders from Macross, I wouldn't like it so much.
  4. I thought the deal with Toynami was that what we see or hear about at cons means nothing. We saw these fastpack over a year ago, didn't we?
  5. Old-ass thread. I think there was another, longer music preference thread too. Yay for 80's synth, new wave, and british electronic music. My favorites growing up were: OMD Erasure New Order Depeche Mode A-ha Pet Shop Boys Thompson Twins The Cure Def Leppard Poison Belinda Carlisle Billy Idol Chicago Roxette Taylor Dane As for more modern stuff I like: Garbage Foo Fighters Linkin Park Gwen Stefani/No Doubt Moods: Original trilogy Star Wars ST Braveheart ST Enya Neverending Story ST Black Aria And of Course Anime & Video Games: FF3 Chrono Trigger Secret of Mana Macross Macross 7 (insanely good) Tenchi Muyo
  6. That's exactly what I thought. Not that I play those... Weird. Finally, a Megazone 23 game, in the year 2007...but it's a dating sim...and it's 2D...and it's on the PS3.
  7. Could this be the OAV pictured before maps?
  8. I agree with Effect. I only care for eighties and early nineties anime, mainly because I like the designs a whole lot. Dude, I never knew there was an 80's maps. Thanks for the great cover art, Area88! You got any translations of the titles?
  9. It looks gorgeous, and I like the size. I hope it's cheap enough for me to buy lots. Looks better than the Toynami for sure.
  10. That show looks awesome. I'm downloading it now.
  11. Is this it? [attachmentid=42514]
  12. Wow, it looks like sculpting technique really devolved in the last 20 years. The old Baroness looked hot. The first Scarlett had bad hair but a nice face and figure. Admittedly, Covergirl was a dog.
  13. It's actually impossible with the Legioss fully transformed. The nose would be in the way. I looked at some line art and it seems to suggest that the nosecone sticks straight backwards when the Armo Soldier links with the Tread.
  14. I don't know if this has been mentioned, but it looks like the CM Tread fighter has a totally separate piece that comes off. The landing gear and connecting boom are both attached to this separate piece. I think if they are going to use a separate piece, they might as well make the connecting boom attach in the correct place (not so far down). They also have the front landing gear in the wrong place. My hope is this prototype is far from finished and the separate piece will be replaced with something more accurate.
  15. Quoted for...uh, me agreeing with all of it! The new Legioss fighter looks like it's upside down. Hopefully there are tailfins and a cockpit on the other side. But I doubt it. That's exactly what I was thinking. Bring on the mecha bell-bottoms! I don't have a problem with the new Tread, but I hope it transforms. So where are the new ride armors?
  16. Wow! Although, from what little I can see, I like the old designs much more. These new ones aren't chunky enough.
  17. Those are pretty much my thoughts exactly. Don't you think the Legioss sits too low when linked with the Tread? I'm most excited by the (Beagle?) ride armors.
  18. Holy shiznit! Those new Cyclones look fantastic! The rider has a sort of Microman look to him. I plan on buying bundles of those. I hope they make Yellow & Houquet versions. The CM Legioss & Tread look...weird. I must say I like the look of the Masterpiece Alpha much more. Much better proportions and poses overall. That CM gerwalk pose isn't very dynamic. The only thing I didn't like about the Masterpiece Alpha was the overall sloppiness of it, so the Aoshima's might be just what I want: a better version of the Masterpiece Alpha. The CM Legioss sits way to low when attached to the Tread, doesn't it? Still, I don't know how I could not buy one. Those mini cyclones look great, too! The new Inbit designs...I like'em. I wonder what they're for?
  19. I'd also like to see Borgman & Zillion. Girls Detective Club looks cool too. Other than that I'd like to see: L-Gaim Dirty Pair TV Urashiman SPT Layzner
  20. I worshipped those games. Awesome fantasy RPGs with great story, memorable characters, many hours of gameplay, and anime cutscenes. For 1992, those games had it all! My favorite games for the SNES were: Secret of Mana. Action RPG. Three player co-op! Great gameplay and story, lush graphics, and cool music. Lufia. Fantasy RPG. This was the first game to actually make me cry.
  21. Oh my god, Totoro, that's awesome! I must get that book. So it's the Animedia magazine? Damn, that's gonna be hard to find I think. EDIT: Hey, I have the October 1983 book. So close!
  22. Spread super thin, with one two, two, or ocassionally three small line art images on each page, unlike any other artbook I've ever seen, or the Robotech RPGs, which have pages packed full of line art. Counting by page is meaningless. For example, the page 193 of Art 1: one image of the Auroran. Page 216, one image of the Invid Shock Trooper. 194, one image of the Invid trooper, incorrectly called the scout. Wow, one image each of cool mecha, and no more anywhere in the book. No images of the Lancer or Rook cyclones, no Invid Enforcers or Pincers or scouts. Page 218, mostly white space with a picture of the Legioss in battloid (the only one in the book) and another of the cyclone. Way to pad the page count. Good thing I grew up with the Robotech RPGs that had multiple images of these from different angles. Bwa ha ha! Are you farting kidding me? Here's a perfect example of the line art pages in Art 3: [attachmentid=41778] Cruddy art, crudely colored to ruin any beauty of the lines, and no image of the battloid or guardian modes. THAT's what the Robotech art books are like. They suck! Nope. The Macross RPG book already gives you more Macross lineart than Arts 1-3 combined. REF Field Guide gives you more Mospeada lineart than Arts 1 - 3 combined.
  23. Wrong. The Macross and Southern Cross books had lots of original line art. They also had artwork by some other guy. But, unlike the Robotech artbooks, the RPGs had lineart of the support vehicles, transformation sequences, various shots of the Armored Valkyrie, etc etc. The RPGs came out in 86 also, and had way more lineart. Seriously, I know it's become the thing to do in this thread to disagree with me for the hell of it, but this is retarded. There are obvious reasons to find the Robotech artbooks lacking.
