  1. Okay, I can accept that. But, if you're going to add the Angel's Paint video to DYRL, isn't better to add the whole thing and not just the first 30 seconds? To please everyone, they could include an alternate cut (same way they do "director's cuts") that includes the entire video. I'm just saying, include the whole music video or no video at all. The way it is now, my DYRL DVD seems incomplete because it only shows part of the video. Seriously, sometimes I believe Bandai wants to sabotage all of their non-Gundam Sci-Fi releases.
  2. Right, I'm just talking about the (then) newly animated Angel's Paint music video, which I thought I made clear by using the words "the" and "video", instead of the words "all the videos". Now that we have that cleared up, there's no good reason why that one entire video is not included. We wanna see the f'in Megaroad launch at the end of DYRL, damnit. It's the way it should be.
  3. Okay, thanks for the explaination, JsARCLIGHT. If I understand correctly, old masters have a high enough resolution, but they're not in the best condition and may need restoration (esp. for HD DVDs) . And a master comes in between the original film and the dvds. I had no idea what a "master" was, and I still don't, really. Is it digital? Who knows.
  4. So you're telling me the HD/Blu-ray versions of Wings of Honneamise are just upconverted DVD rips?
  5. Here's an idea. Include ALL of the Flashback 2012 video at the end of the new DYRL DVD instead of just the first few seconds. I was overjoyed when I first watched my DYRL DVD and, after I thought it was over, I saw the Flashback video. I thought, "Man, this is perfect, DYRL the way the creators wanted it to be." And then, the video just cut out to the rolling credits! I was shocked. Why only include part of the video? (And I should add, disc space is not an issue. The Tenchi Muyo OVA set is renown for it's perfect picture quality, and it has all 7 episodes (3.5 hours) on ONE disc.)
  6. I was thinking about getting the new Wings of Honneamise DVD, because I want to see the movie, and despite the fact that BV is a shitty company and screws everything up. But I didn't know that the Honneamise HD-DVD/Blu-ray wasn't remastered. This brings me to a question for people who know how this DVD stuff works. For a given anime, is there some digital master somewhere with a super high resolution that gets compressed when they put it on a DVD? And for a HD release, could they go back to that same master and just compress it less? I'm asking because, for an HD release to make any sense, they'd have to have some high resolution source to go back to.
  7. Maybe the Macross F announcement is just a clever scheme to get us to buy the anniversary DVDs and toys.
  8. TheLoneWolf talked about "film" rights, which confused me too. It just dawned on me today that people will ridicule this movie if it involves F-16's flying in space. The movie will have to feature a futuristic looking fighter mode if they want to use it in atmosphere and space and still suspend people's disbelief.
  9. I've always wanted to see a movie post that consisted of two things: a giant UN Spacy kite, and the words "coming this summer." That would be the coolest. Part of me thinks that HG can use the valk designs if they want, since they recently use them in Robotech: Battlecry and use them now in all the comics.
  10. Can anyone explain to me why HG can't use the valk designs? They're still selling valk toys. Doesn't that mean they have the US rights to the design?
  11. HD is wide-screen. I can't remember, is the original film widescreen?
  12. I dunno, I've seen her in person and I agree that she looks insanely young. What is she now, 42?
  13. Doesn't look like any particular valk to me.
  14. I'm trying to upload a 900KB image (max upoad is 10MB). It just hangs forever. Am I the only one having trouble?
  15. Google search for central anime and macross 7. I think I grabbed it from a.scarywater.net. Macross 7 starts off weakly, and the first song gets annoying, but after a few episodes the show gets really good, and the music is awesome.
  16. That's an extremely cool idea. I'd also think a pinpoint-barrier tip would confer some significant armor piercing ability a la the Daedalus attack. My only concern would be how to make it work in a toy. You gotta think of the merchandising! What's really cool about this idea is that you could take someone out of battle without killing them. If you only have power for one more jump, and you use it to escape a missile volley, then you're out of the fight. Me likey! Hey, wait. What about folding missles?
  17. I'm guessing it's just a very rough, conceptual sculpt. No sane person or company would offer that as a final design.
  18. That page isn't responding, but from Jenius' description, I think I remember them. Are these new? Would I be a pest if I asked for another link?
  19. Pics or links please? I'm not familiar with that one.
  20. He's only credited as animator for Gunbuster. I wish they kept ol' Mikimoto around for this one. I can't really take anything seriously as Macross without his beautiful designs.
  21. So about that Fire Bomber concert. The first I heard about it was a week ago when someone said it was sold out. How does one hear about these things ahead of time? If I had known about it earlier, and had been able to get tickets, I would be in Japan right now.
  22. That was the Blind Master, if my memory is correct. Man, Mark Walberg as Duke? I don't have anything against Marky Mark, but he is totally wrong for Duke.
  23. What, this Nani guy thinks he can second-guess Yamato? Infidel! Let's lynch him!
  24. Do cell phones fall under the category of electronics? If so, I have a question. I want an awesome internet cell phone. One that gets 3G internet, as well as wi-fi, has a fairly big screen, and (if it exists) has a Flash-enabled browser. The iPhone has neither Flash nor 3G capability. Does the phone of my dreams exist? I've found some that come close, but I can't figure out if they have Flash.
  25. 1/18 is Microman scale, and GI Joe: RAH scale. It's about 3 3/4" tall. I think the tiny Gakkens were smaller.
