  1. Not necessarily. The Xbox 360 was officially unveiled just before E3 2005, and launched that November. If anyone, Sony or Microsoft, wanted to launch a new console for holiday 2012 they're likely to not officially announce it until E3 2012. They only have to announce it earlier if it's not having a worldwide launch or are going to release before holiday... hence the Wii U announcement this year.
  2. I've only done Story missions, and I think you need to do Memorial missions to unlock higher ranked units. And I haven't used Epyon or F91, so I can't comment on them, either. But I do see what you mean about Unicorn being a beast. Even with a Rank 1 Unicorn (with four upgrade slots), I was able to get melee up to 266 (could have gone higher, but I only used two upgrades for melee, the other two for defense). Combine that with the fact that Unicorn's SP attack his excellent. The move itself is great for chewing through a crowd, but what really sets it apart is the time you get to spend in Destroy mode after. I bought the license so that anyone can use Unicorn, and have been using it whenever a pilot's default suit kind of sucks. Or, in Garroad's case, because he doesn't do all his irritating yelling unless he's piloting Double X. Do you know how many times you have to use a suit before you unlock the license for purchase? Also, do you have to develop a new version of a suit after you have the license before anyone can use it? Unicorn's showing up, but even though I have the license for Nu it's not showing up.
  3. Well, I bought the last copy the mall Gamestop had. For Xbox, though, so it's a little weird talking about it in the PS3 section (guess we never got around to moving all the individual console thread discussions into the general video game thread). It's a lot better than DWG2 so far. Same repetitive gameplay, sure, but the story mode seems to work better, and I dig that the game has Japanese voices now. I also like how the maps have zones of strategic importance. I haven't encountered a single Mobile Armor yet. I'm sure they're there, but DWG3 doesn't shove one into every other map and flaunt them as a big feature anymore.
  4. Are the Mobile Armor's still in it? I played the first one a ton, but I was pretty disappointed with the second one. The campaign missions required too many bullcrap "so-and-so must live while you fight a Mobile Armor hell-bent on murdering said ally" win conditions. I HATE the Gamestops around here, but I have to go to the mall today anyway, so maybe I'll swing by and see if they have any. If not, there's always the internet.
  5. Did Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 actually come out? I was at Best Buy yesterday since they sent me a coupon. I was gonna pick up DWG3 and the new Transformers game, but there wasn't a copy of DWG3 to be had, for either PS3 or Xbox 360.
  6. I think the Walmart one is Battle Blades Optimus with hooks instead of the swords, a darker paint job that's supposed to look like he's in space, and a new head mold sans mouth plate. Pic here.
  7. Hey, how's RotF Voyager Prime? I generally don't collect Leader class figures (no space, too much money). The Dark of the Moon Voyager Prime looks awful, and while the Deluxe looks pretty good (if a little lacking in paint), I'd want to display him with RotF Voyager Megatron or Dark of the Moon Megatron (if I pick him up). Walmart's stocking some repaint of RotF Prime (the one with the hooks), and it looks pretty nice. Should I get it?
  8. Since I've bought every Transformers game so far, I figured I'd give the new Dark of the Moon game a go. I have mixed feelings... it's much better than Transformers: The Game or Revenge of the Fallen, but not as good as War for Cybertron (or the awesome PS2 Transformers game). But my major gripe with it is that it's really short, maybe half the length of WfC. I bought it yesterday after work, and I'm already done with it.
  9. The area I live in is fairly rural, so I rarely see anything more expensive than the odd Volvo or BMW, and no sportier than a pony car. I've never seen a Ferrari, and I don't think I've ever seen a Porsche that wasn't a Cayenne. But, oddly enough, I see a Lamborghini every so often. In addition to the white Countach, we parked next to a black Gallardo at the hotel where they were doing Batman casting in Pittsburgh, and here in Greensburg there's a younger guy who drives a green Gallardo. Few years back I got stuck behind a yellow Diablo. I guess when you drive an exotic sports car in "Penntucky" you really stand out and have to take extra car not to get pulled over by the local po-po.
  10. And wasn't just the violence or the dark tone, either. For the first half-hour, if Carly was in the scene it was all T&A shots. The opening scene especially. I was complaining to my wife because we were stuck sitting near a group of kids, the oldest of which was maybe 8. My wife says, "What do you expect, it's a kids movie?" Then the movie actually starts, cut to Carly's rear, and I turn to my wife and say, "Are you sure this is a kids movie?"
  11. You're not mistaken. I liked the Murcielago better than the Diablo, but not as much as the similar-but-smaller Gallardo. The Aventador is better than all three, but the design seems a little timid after the Reventon. The Countach is still my favorite Lamborghini, though. There was a guy driving a white one around my local Target the other day. That car was 25 years ahead of its time.
  12. Just got back from seeing it. I think it's definitely better than RotF... the plot (however thin and borrowed from an episode of the cartoon) is more focused this time, and while there's a lot of humans running around doing stuff, I think there's more robot action. The first one is still the best of the trilogy. I'm sure the movie will do well and another Transformers movie will be green lit. But I hear that Bay is done, and I'm sure Hasbro is pushing for some new fresh designs to sell toys, so I'm thinking the next one will be a reboot.
  13. Microsoft released some updates for Windows. I might be a little odd in that I don't allow autoupdating for Windows; Windows Update can only inform me that updates are available, and then I actually click over to the Knowledge Base article to see what the update is for before I allow it. I noticed that two of them related to IE, and one of those related to issues rendering fonts. It's not likely, but I wonder if your issue relates to the issue being patched? Well, if your issues aren't consistent (that is, not always the same letter or not always the same spots on a page), the problem is almost certainly software. If you're using the driver supplied by Windows Update, have you checked HP's website for an updated driver? The Windows Update drivers aren't always the best (it once suggested that I "update" my Nvidia drivers to an older version).
  14. In a store, or online deal? I played the free trial, and I liked the game but there wasn't enough to do (at the time) to rank up without doing missions that were above your level or doing pvp, which kind of turned me off.
  15. Really? They had a ton at mine. Can you find any more of the Generations figures I need? Maybe we could work out a swap.
  16. Just got back from Walmart. TONS of Dark of the Moon crap, if you're into that. Like Target and TRU, they have three peg hooks for Generations, and they were actually very full. Unfortunately, while they have tons of Thunderwing, Dirge, Megatron, and Cliffjumper (surprisingly no Skullgrins), that's basically all they had. What I'd really like to find, in the order I'd like to find it... G2 Optimus Prime Wheeljack Thundercracker Warpath Kup Perceptor Wreck-Gar Windcharger Grapple Am I missing anybody? I found all of the pre-RTS Generations figures I wanted.
  17. Is that chick about to drop on deuce into Sharon Apple?
  18. I wonder if Hasbro's still shipping these? While I haven't seen anything besides Skullgrin and Cliffjumper, I did notice that Target still has a trio of peg hooks that seem to be for Generations, as does TRU (except that TRU had Megatron, WFC Prime, Thunderwing, and Bluestreak). Maybe I'll go to Walmart tomorrow morning to see if they might not have a few more, since I was really looking forward to basically all the post-RTS figures except Wreck-Gar... who I was still planning on getting, but didn't really have a strong emotional attachment to.
  19. That depends. What if the game was considered a great game, but I personally didn't like it enough to finish it? I've got a huge list of games like that (highlights include The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and The Legend of Zelda: All of Them Since the SNES). Now, as far as games that I just got sidetracked on but would like to complete one day, that list is a bit more manageable. A few immediately spring to mind. Fallout: New Vegas Uncharted 2 The Witcher Enslaved Bulletstorm
  20. I went to Babies R Us this afternoon to find some stuff for my best friend's baby shower, and figured I'd peek at the toys while I was there. Imagine my surprise when I found a solitary Generations Scourge. I'm digging him. He's got weird shoulders, and the alt mode doesn't really look like (although is probably more plausible) than the original's rocket sled thingy, but the bot mode is just so spot-on G1 that he's hard not to love. Too bad I couldn't find any of the others. I was really looking forward to that last batch of Generations figures, much more that the earlier waves.
  21. Saw it this afternoon. It was better than I thought... but I thought it was going to suck. Pretty much every complaint I've heard (boring characters, terrible CGI costume, deviates from comic mythos, etc I'm in agreement with, but there was some stuff I enjoyed, too (Sinestro). Ultimately, I'm not sure it was worth seeing in the theater, but I wasn't bored watching it.
  22. There is a section on the application that asks if you have any special skills. I wrote "willing to do nude scenes" in it.
  23. Since they're filming in my area (Pittsburgh), I applied to be an extra in the film.
  24. I know I'm a minority here, but I really prefer my games, even shooters, as single player affairs. To that end, I picked up the new F.E.A.R. Solid game that seems to be tying the first two together, although it's lacking the atmosphere that the first two had. It's hard to find the game frightening when one of the early levels has you gunning down Armacham soldiers on what appears to be a sunny Mexican street, but it's still fun. I'd recommend it, especially if you're a fan of the previous games in the series.
  25. Not going to get the Reveal the Shield and Generations toys I really wanted because Hasbro would rather hawk crappy toys based on the same handful of ugly Bayformers just because there's another movie coming out... I'm just going to go find a new hobby.
