  1. Cool. Sounds about right to me. His valks are great if you need a quick solution for a diorama, and you're not bothered about little details. And he has a wide variety of rare valks for completists.
  2. I've been geeking out over Xigrid's bike recently. I finally finished! It took me many years to gain the confidence to paint this little thing. Xigfrid's 1/60 Isamu Bike and Ghost-9. And I have been fiddling around with this concept for Sharon Apple w/ Isamu's Bike. 1/48 scale. I think Sharon is the right size now.
  3. Do you mean the 3D desgin is weird, or are you just not familiar with Macross Plus? In any case, I agree the design is heavily pixelated, which prints "good enough" in small 1/60 scale. But any larger scale definitely needs smoothing. I finally finished! It took me many years to gain the confidence to paint this little thing. Xigfrid's 1/60 Isamu Bike and Ghost-9. That's a lot of years of work champ, I just hope you've enjoyed it. And since you are so familiar with the VF-9 design and 3D Modeling, I am interested in hearing your review of this VF-9 by Senovis on Cults3D.
  4. Your VF-9 is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful soft lines.
  5. Concept WIP. Sharon Apple w/ Isamu Bike - Bike by Xigfrid. 1/48 3.6cm. Amateur Fan Art.
  6. Sweet backdrop and photo! Thanks for influencing us to learn more about these designs. As a Nadia fan, I'm seeing a lot of influence from the Cordoba on the Super Space Battleship Neo Nautilus. Thunderbirds is always mentioned as an influence on the Neo Nautilus, but a lot seems to come from the Cordoba too. Studio Nue is credited on the Cordoba model kit page. But if I were to guess, I would say Miyatake probably designed it, not Kawamori... just based on the design details and it being a capital ship. But what do I know... (FYI, Kawamori is said to make a cameo in Nadia, as a very technical science-minded crew member of the Nautilus. He looks just like him to me.) Amazing work. I'm sure you're having fun researching every aspect of this old beast of a ship. But would it hurt your feelings if I said the stacks look "light faded orange" to me🤪 Bring on the Titanic memes. I loved that movie. Should I find a rock to hide under??? @MechTech was cooler than I was in high school. Lots cooler. Dang what a ride! What a classic! Looks like what graphics designers used to use.
  7. I missed this one. A really fun idea. And the guy really thought it through: Notice that the missile placements are empty.
  8. I also use Tamiya Thinner for Tamiya Acrylics, but I have heard that Mr. Levelling Thinner does wonders with Tamiya Acrylics.
  9. I bet you never thought you would be a Titanic ship specialist! Question: I've never airbrushed enamels. But you use Mr. Color Levelling Thinner with Enamel paints, the same as what can be used to thin Tamiya Acrylics? I thought you use Tamiya Enamel thinner. I didn't know you can use the same thinner for enamels as acrylics.
  10. IDK exactly for each one, but I know Kawamori did some mecha design for the show. So who designed your capital ship?
  11. I did not expect three Crusher kits at the same time. Those 80s sci-fi anime designs have a beauty all their own.
  12. Taking papercraft to a whole new level. Some guys are just better at doing stuff...
  13. Hold on, double check, oils and enamels may melt some bare plastics.
  14. @MechTech Nice oldies-but-goodies spaceship. That's a nice result with the green parts, given that it's without painting, I would not have guessed. As for the white parts, how would they look with a bit of color modulation, maybe a quick layer with a white oil paint? And the mods on the wing for the second plane look really clean. Seems like very challenging handicraft to pull that off.
  15. 80s anime space stuff... with a capital J.
  16. It's difficult to pull of a nice finish with such a detailed resin kit, it's not as easy as a snap-fit plastic model, and I do not envy you working on those canopies. I don't know how much previous experience you had to help you through it, but it looks great!.
  17. Pretty cool. I always loved my fold-out map of Middle Earth that came with the novel back in the 80s. I spent more hours reading it than any real world map. I believe, if I remember correctly, Tolkien drew the original map by hand.
  18. To be honest, we are overseas and we watch WMT in a foreign language, partly as a language building exercise. Conan is highly recommended, it foreshadows all later Miyazaki films in one way or another. I am sure you can download it with subs somewhere.
  19. Purple lighting is good. Reminds me of Patlabor 2. Nice work! Which reminds me I do have a Bandai Ingram of my own for a future lighting project, plus a Pit Road police vehicle.
  20. @MechTech On the money as usual! This was a fun project with my 6-year old daughter, who is a huge Future Boy Conan fan, and a good little artist herself. Since Figma has not made a Lana figure, I took the plunge and made one for her to play with. All my kids are brought up on World Masterpiece Theater at this age, with shows like Conan, Heidi, Little Women, Anne, and Rascal locked and loaded on their TV. There are few things in life as precious as lounging on the couch with my daughter, watching Conan try to rescue Lana😍🥰 With this larger scale figure, it was easier to practice some airbrush shading techniques I learned from those amazing Spanish miniature painters on Youtube. For the dress, I picked four shades of red, from dark Hull Red to light Ferrari Red, and followed the zenithal highlighting as a guide, airbrushing darker shades first like a pre-shade, then building up towards the lighter shades for edge highlights. Hope you like it!
