  1. BTW, are the South Koreans getting AESA with their F-15Ks? Last I heard it was an option.
  2. Were they grafted blades? I though it was his mutated bones. As for the phalanx vs elephant question. I was asking in real life. Not about the movie.
  3. Has the Shornet gone up in exercises against the Raptor? Did they still get arse-kicked by opponents they never saw?
  4. I can live with those. Don't play with the microman anyway. I have worse times with the Yammie 1/48 hands and hip rubber seals. The 1/12 seems a bit big and chunky to 'play' with. The 1/18 Scope and 1/48 yamato seems about the maximum 'right' size for a playable toy. There are heaps of them still on sale here in Singapore. I noticed that HK seems to move their stocks faster. The shoppies seem more inclined to put things on sale to clear the shelves of older stock compared to Singapore.
  5. Can a Spartan Phalanx stop a war elephant charge? Esp. when they were not using those later 'deluxe length' spears? Actually, if I was facing a non-moving phalanx wall (who can't move up and attack since they were guarding a narrow pass), I think 'battering rams' (or just long tree trunks) would be a good idea. One smash and the arm holding the shield is in for some bruising.
  6. I had a Minerva model kit from Crusher Joe 20+ years ago. Was the Minerva designed by Kawamori? It is very similar in style to a lot of the Macross TV series designs.
  7. Were Elephants present in the historical battle? Did Spartans really march to war carrying NOTHING except their spear, sword, shield, robe and underwear? Where did leonidas get the apple from huh?
  8. Another thing, weren't the Spartan Phalanxes supposed to employ much longer spears? Like up to 18+ foot long ones. Not the short ones we see in the movie. And the fancy looking swords the Spartans were using?!?!? WTF?!!? And of course the Immortal's twin 'Ninjatos'. Wahah!
  9. Ha! The Persian Immortals looked like TMNT foot soldier computer fighting game ninjas.
  10. Thats what I would bet on too. Which was why I asked about that comment that the F-35 isn't quite good enough to face the Flankers.
  11. Thats the 35 mllion dollar question then. How far can the stealth aspect go towards making it deadly for 4th gen fighters?
  12. Wow! What do the RT boys think of this? Havn't they been clamouring for a Beta for years? If its not pricier then a Yamato 1/48 I'd buy this one for sure.
  13. Given how the F-22 is kicking F-15 butt principally thru the 'I can't even see the damn things on screen' factor, is the 'stealth' feature of the F-35 so far behind the F-22 that its going to have trouble with the Flanker? I mean, yeah the Flankers would have more range/payload etc etc, but wouldn't the stealth aspect even things out a lot?
  14. The figs are really small. Volume per dollar, they make Yamato valks look like a steal. You won't be disappointed. The story and plot gets better as the episodes advance.
  15. Its not just that. Even if parts can still be made for the F-14, changing a part for an F-14 is supposedly a lot more time-consuming then changing an equivalent part for an F-18.
  16. The plant is near the sea. Its the movement of the tides which moves the floor on the plant, rather then the direct gravitation effect from the moon bobbing closer and further.
  17. Well, you wouldn't want the hip joint on your ride to fall out due to stress when in Battroid mode right? I suspect they wouldn't have had to do that if the plant wasn't sited near the coast. Quoted from the Article : The F-35 Lightning II will be the world’s first and only stealthy, supersonic, multi-role fighter. Eh?
  18. Not that I disbelieve it but _that_ pic really looks photoshopped.
  19. All kinetic projectiles I have seen on fictional space battles don't show them slowing down, which is realistic. There is also no need to account for it to hit some target in the background as the chance of it hitting anything in the great big expanse of space is negligible.
  20. I paid the rull $80 for my Alpha (due to shipping outside US). But yes, if I had paid say $40-50 bucks for it, I wouldn't be so angry with its faults. Oh yeah, I wouldn't be so pissed if they didn't call it 'Masterpiece' and keep harping on 'see the AUTHENTIC RUBBER TYRES' as if its some big bloody deal. Yeah, thats it, the damn 'RUBBER TYRE' thingy just pisses me off for some reason. Maybe because it infers that we the toy collectors have been in a cave since 1642 and have never seen rubber tyres on a toy.
  21. Well, technically you can't have streamlined and bumpy in 1 package. But if you are talking about bits sticking or protruding out all over the place (like in the Mig-35 earlier) then yes, thats how it goes. The F-22 doesn't seem to have too many 'bumps' yet.
  22. Shaggydog, I am one of those poor sods that own _only_ the MPC Alphas! Went for the looks of the Yamato's for the VF-1s' Thanks to that damn Alpha, I don't dare to go near Toynami stuff anymore!
  23. Hey, we Votoms fans are all in praise of the beautiful Takara Dual Model Zwei Scopedogs. The Zoid fans all love our Zoids too. C'mon, be fair. When I play with my KFM Zoids or DMZ Scopedog's or Deluxe DX 12 inch Sazabi (ok granted they don't transform) I _really_ do NOT have to worry about the figgin arm falling off or the elbow snapping and stress marks on the plastic etc etc. OK so the Yamato's transform, but doesn't the fact that it cost 5x what my other toys do contribute to the QC to make it at least comparable in toughness?
  24. Maybe not 1/35 but I am quite sure I saw a blue Tread which was taller then the Gakken 1/35 Legioss some years ago. It was on a locked glass shelf display so I am not sure if its a toy or model.
  25. They must have had a good laugh over this. http://www.midwaysailor.com/midwayva25bomb/
