  1. Macrossworld caused it. I stumbled upon Macrossworld. Saw the promo pics of the 1/48 Vf-1A about 3 months before release. Got hooked. Bought the damn thing the moment I saw it on the shelves.
  2. I suppose MD can claim that too due to that single Isreali hotshot.
  3. That about says it all. With the CM Legioss+Tread, it doesn't really matter how good Aoshima remakes the MPC. Unless the CM stuff turns out to be craptastic in build quality...
  4. But its got AUTHENTIC RUBBER TYRES! I mean, how cool is that! And, and its the most accurate representation of a veritech ever and and.. and... its got RUBBER TYRES!!!
  5. The guy in the Coca-Cola T-Shirt is kinda spoiling the photo though...
  6. In the 90s, Renault made a special version of the Clio called the Clio Williams. Prices were astronomical for a performance hatch since Renault promised only a run of 400. When the damn thing sold well, they got around the 'limit to 400' by calling the newer batch Clio Williams 2! Then they ran another batch called the Clio Williams 3! If Renault can get away with it, Toynami sure can. In any case, my opinion of Aoshima has dropped about 35 levels.
  7. I (got this from wiki some time ago) thought that the second An-225 was slated for completion anyway since there was a demand for its services. Or was that bullcrap?
  8. The Aoshima version is not going to be made in Japan while the Toynami version was not made in the USA. Its virtually guaranteed that they'll be made from the same factory in China using the exact same molds so I'd bet that nothing will be changed and the exact same set of QC problems will be present.
  9. Am I glad I bought the DMZ over the 1/12! You would think toy companies should playtest their products! There is a 1/48 AT Transporter on HLJ. Anyone has it? I am tempted.
  10. Enforcer = GAMO. eidt: Wait. Enforcers are the big guys with the big honking converging cannons right? If you are referring to the smaller power armour suits I think they are called 'Protectors'.
  11. I think it would be unlikely that they would release an accessory pack for a toy one year later (when the toy is hard to find) without also re-packaging it with the toy or re-issuing the toy.
  12. If they had a long rectangular stamp featuring the Executor I'd vote for it. Since they did not, I chose the Stormtroopers.
  13. The HLJ pics says : PVC/ABS/PC Whats PC? http://www.hlj.com/product/CMS65095
  14. 1/12 is 50% taller by height compared to a 1/18. e.g. for a 100m building. 1/12 = 8.33m 1/18 = 5.55m The 8.33m model will be 50% taller than the 5.55m model.
  15. That really does _not_ look like 1/18 vs 1/12!
  16. Cool. so HG is not getting any royalties when I buy my CM Tread.
  17. I thought that for Macross, HG had only the rights outside-of-Japan but for Mospeada, they had the rights both outside and inside. Read it from this forum long ago.
  18. I thought Yamato only does this to Macross products. heh. Whats this about the 1/12 not dwarfing the 1/18? I don't have the 1/12 but shouldn't it be 50% taller which is quite significant?
  19. I don't see any reason for the US to want to land armies on the Chinese mainland short of Space War 1 starting. And the Chinese are far far away from moving even a fraction of their army across the pacific and I don't see any reason they would want to even if they could (again, short of Space War 1). Anti insurgency forces for the ground, continued investment in carrier groups and rapid deployment of air assets with overwhelming superiority in technology seems to be the way for now.
  20. Wait, HG has the rights to Mospeada even in Japan right? Does Tatsunoko factor in any of this? Maybe HG gave a very attractive licencing package to those toy companies to encourage them to make the toys?
  21. When is the 25th anniversary for SOUTHERN CROSS? Already passed?
  22. I agree. Besides the G-Lmits and endurance limits of a human pilot, there are quite a few things a computer can do quicker then a human in a pure 'go out there and blow the other guy up' scenario. I suppose the next next leap for air combat will be when the weapons and detection gets so good that a laser takes out any flying object in detection range.
  23. Now I fell really STOOPID for buying my CRUMMY MASTERPIECE ROOK BARTLEY at the price of USD90+....
  24. Yeah, my last few trips there, I couldn't find any Zoids outside TRU and it was just Gundam and Gashapons everywhere. Have to say Animate is my favourite chain there. They seem to carry the most yamato macross stuff too.
