Ok, this is the first one I've run into so far. And so it begins... -
"I LIKE IT!!" This looks like an update of what contributors are hoping Detroit will get: bronze Robocop statue

Just my luck; days before Moon Diver is released, I get the YLOD. Argh.

M.A.S.K. - Show and Toy collections
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I loved playing with my friend's Rhino. The ejection seat feature was always central to my playtime. As for S. Aramaki working on the show, here's an excerpt from an interview found here: Actually, M.A.S.K. is one of those times I snuck out of Artmic and worked for another studio during the day. (laughs) In fact, I even left the country! I told the president of Artmic I was going on break, and went to Chicago to discuss the designs of the toys and get prototypes approved. When I came back to Japan two weeks later, all he said was, "Man, you sure took a long vacation! Where were you?" And I'm definitely picking up the DVD set.- 374 replies

I get the same feeling when I tinker with Hound and Mirage as well. And it's pretty cool how my 10 yr. old nephew loves Henkei Hound. The TF shelves are barren over here. Even the peg warmers are gone. I have a sinking feeling that it's gonna get harder for me to find RTS Windcharger.

An A for effort, but that's about it. It's pretty bad-bot mode looks like a cosplayer.

Well, I'll trade you a Mindwipe for a Skullgrin. I've only seen Perceptor and and Wreck-Gar once, and those were the ones I picked up. Everything else is Mindwipe, Ravages, and a smattering of Cliffjumper. My only worry is that once RTS dies down and gets replaced with DOTM toys, the last couple of figures I really want (Warpath, Windcharger) might get lost in the shuffle and I'd have to rely on the secondary market. After seeing a lineup comparing the Kup releases, I'm beginning to think that the e-Hobby exclusive is the best looking one (once the battle damage is given an alcohol rub, that is). I'm really tempted now to plunk down the cash to get the 3-pack he comes in, and get a generic Junkion to boot.

Bandai DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Remember when fans were asked to name the new valk for the then-upcoming Frontier series? IIRC, I tossed in the name Durandal in there. Hmmm... -
A friend of mine just lost his boat docked in Santa Cruz this morning when the waves hit. But the worst that happened here is a pittance compared to what Japan is going through. I'm happy you guys are ok, stay strong!

DOTM Skyhammer's aesthetic doesn't look like it belongs with the other DOTM TFs. That would make only a total of three DOTM toys I'd be interested in buying.
-
Yeah, it's weird how Classics BB got 5 or 6 repaints yet Cliffjumper never even got a Takara release. No Grapple, not even Lugnut. Can't wait for Windcharger though.

Heads up for those in Northern CA: finally, mixed in with the wall of Mindwipes and Fallbacks, I found the next RTS wave at Target! I picked up a Wreck-Gar, Perceptor, and G2 Prime. They must've had a few assortment cases arrive since were a quite a few Bumblebees in there. Of slim pickings were Perceptor and Wreck-Gar. BTW, I was disappointed to learn that the future store listings for an Arcee figure is for TF Prime, not Generations. It looks good, but G1 Arcee still doesn't have an official HasTak toy.

The theater, crap-I completely forgot about that place. I was thinking you watch the episodes by downloading them from the PSN store. According to the link BP posted, the SDF-1 should appear after viewing 6 episodes. Well, off to the theater I go...

I made a JP PSN account to try it, but I couldn't find anything Macross related. Maybe the promo is over?

GI Joe 30th Anniversary Line Fall 2011
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Is that a Cobra trooper holding a smart gun from Aliens? I'm gonna have to get one just for that gun. -
I'm trying to do the exact same thing through the wonder of styrene and earth magnets. Jazz will become a parts-former, but I'm ok with it. I'm just having trouble finding a spot to put the spoiler parts in bot mode. And yes, the lack of detail on Jazz is disappointing, but I still love him to bits.

Thanks for the offer, but I went for instant gratification and snagged a used one for $8. DH, separate threads for at least the big consoles would be ideal. It would be easier when discussing all the details for each one instead of rummaging through a general gaming thread. Maybe separate them via manufacturer? (Sony Gaming, MS Gaming, etc.)

I was muddled there for a bit; I was thinking my fat ps3 had a slot for a ps2 card. Guess I'm in the market for an adapter. Thanks for input, gents!
-
I was thinking of copying my ps1 save onto a ps2 card using a ps2, then finally loading that ps2 card on the ps3 to copy the ps1 save. Feasible, right? Now when is Einhander getting on board?

The little red tank that could: Next-gen Warpath. Whether it's Warpath or not, it looks like the turret is facing the wrong way.

Front Mission 3 on PSN? Yes please! I have to find a way to get my old saves in there though.

GANTZ - Live Action Movie
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If you read the manga, some disappointment is in order. Kei is just not that big of an a-hole in the movie. In fact, everyone in the movie has been toned down; they don't seem as despicable as their comic counterparts. Granted, a LOT of elements were taken out, but the overall tone is a more positive one than the nasty, cynical, and dark atmosphere of the comic. However, the film by itself without drawing any comparisons to the comic is satisfactory. A friend who had never heard of Gantz before thought the film felt like a big Twilight Zone episode. -
GANTZ - Live Action Movie
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yep, the voice acting was cringe-worthy during a lot of scenes. That's my biggest gripe with the movie-I was really hoping for subtitles. Otherwise, the costumes and effects were well done considering the budget, and Kishimoto was a real cutie. The guys I went with who have never read Gantz seemed to enjoy themselves and are now curious about the manga.
