1. OK, who got a screen shot of the heiroglyphics that flashed across the number readout before Locke was able to reset it?
2. According to Tommy Yune, one of the main reasons why the Macross saga characters look different is because they do not want the new fans to get confuse with what is Robotech and what is Macross. The new administration is trying to get away from the similaraties between characters between the Macross saga and SDF Macross. If you ask me, this is a good thing because the last thing you want (as a fan of either universe) is that confussion about what is Robotech and what is Macross. Finally, stupid hardheaded purists for both sides have something less to argue about. 370544 While that is a plausible explanation, I have been up and down this debate more times than you can shake a stick at, including transcribing many of Tummy Yune's statements in the beginning of the whole debacle. For all that I have been through I can tell you this, Tommy Yune is a business man first and foremost. While it is my personal opinion that he is one of the worst, and uncreative, comic artists ever to get paid for what he does- It is the honest truth that this man will always spout his party's line, even in the face of facts which prove differently, and that his word is never to be trusted.
3. Hey there- Way back in the day when 0080 came out, some U.S. anime magazine did an article on it and, what I remember most vividly, is that the introduction of the 0080 article wa s a 2-page spread and had a kick ass action drawing of the Alex's head, torso and right arm from slightly above*, and then the 0080 version GunCannon and two GM's further in the back. The artwork is, frankly, probably too good for it to have been an American artist at the time, but I could be wrong. So it might be from a Japanese anime mag. The problem is that I cannot find the image anywhere online. Does anyone remember what I'm talking about and, more importantly, does anyone have scans? *I think it was holding it's beam saber, but I could be mistaken.
4. Hey, awesome artwork on the main page. Seriously, though, if you're going to use my artwork, I will require my name be credited on the image itself. It looks you've photochopped Max out of the rest of the image. If you want, I can send you a copy of the Max image by itself. It'll make for a cleaner image.
5. Haha! Just kidding. Seriously, although the Macross storyline is a rare gem, only equaled by UC Gundam, and only surpassed by my fave, Patlabor (I can be biased, after all), the biggest attraction to Macross, as with all anime I am interested in, is it's visual appeal. You see, animation is, after all, a visual medium. And Studio Nue works very hard to be cinematic in scope and detail, with great designs. Even MacII, while somewhat lacking in delivery (although the story isn't bad at all) has great characters (of course, look who did them) and some nifty, sleak, variations on the VF design. Although I begrudge Shoji's idea of VF's with faces in Mac7, it's still a very deep and well-done anime... with great visuals. So, yes, I actually like Macross. In visual appeal coupled with story-telling, which is one of my main interests in anime, it ranks at the top with such works as the Patlabor films, Wings of Honneamise, as well as Miyazaki and Ghibli films. p.s.- Your question is still dumb.
6. I like all Macross and your question is dumb. Go burn in hell!
7. This also works for the non-transformable FIX's as well. I've got the FAZZ (sentinel version) and I sitting here with all of this armor falling off, even though I'm not touching it. So I superglued that armor on and, voila', no more picking up pieces. I know this has been mentioned before, but clear nail polish works well as a joing strengthener, especially around loose hips. If you fiddle with the toy enough, the nail polish will rub off, but you only need re-apply!
8. I haven't bought a Zeonography yet due to sheer disinterest in available kits. ALthough I hear they are very nice. I'm curious when the Kampfer is going to be released. I would love a Kampfer vs. Alex set, yo.
9. I'm of the opinion that anything Non-UC is pretty much stupider than all get out. Wing was so laughable I almost cried.
10. Well...is the WIP finished??? BTW, what ever happened to BoB? 366978 For complete discussion on the image, visit the thread I made once it was completed. A lot of people (rightfully) had issues with Minmay's head, but... c'est le vie! Yeah, BoB kind of petered out. His last post was back in the beginning of November. Let's hope he's happy, wherever he is!!!
11. Great stuff, Polidread... but isn't that a VF-1A? =P
12. Here's the next part in association with the Komilia WIP above:
13. Ditto that. CGI=Death. The real-life stunts are what added such kick ass to the Mad Max films that tripe like Gone in 60 Seconds and 2 Fast are sorely lacking. That was one of the few good things about the recent Dukes of Hazzard movie, all real stunts, and the only computer stuff was superimposing the actors faces into the cars.
14. I disagree. I think the fact that Gibson has been off of his rocker lately make him more suited for the role of Max, who is also a little off of his rocker. Fury Road is a lame name, though.
15. It's about frickin time. "Who you?" "Me Max." With dialogue like that,m this movie could blow away the oscar competition. Get a move on, Gibson! We haven't had quality destruction on the big screen in a while!!!
16. OK, so I've gotten eps 1 and 2 to play with Mplayer which YellowLightMan pointed out, but I still can't get the subs to run. My wife's the smart one with all this command line and compiling stuff, and even she's having a problem. Rrgh. Oh well, at least I can see it. The Zakus in the beginning of ep. 2 look pretty generic. I'm kind of disappointed.
17. Sorry. I was grouchy because I'm sick, and I'm frustrated because I can't get the damned thing to play.
18. Ummm... did some googling. Couldn't find anything that helps me on my Mac. Sure, it's a little hard when a lot of this is like latin to me, and I may be missing something, but it's no reason to get snooty and call people lazy. Your "help" is just an attempt to make us look stupid and yourself look smart. Back the story- Another thing I forgot to mention: When I had Appleseed as a .mkv, I could launch it with QT, but it would never run properly (all sorts of error messages and whatnot). With these Igloo files, it won't even try to launch them with QT. Any ideas?
19. IIRC- When the Appleseed movie was first fansubbed, it was .mkv, and that's what prompted me to get VLC in the first place. That ran fine (I have since deleted it because I bought the R1 version), but these don't at all.
20. Or have to pay for it!!!
21. Sorry, I'm not drunk- Just sick. I'm sure you all understand what I meant to say.
22. Yeah, I don't that helps me because I run VLC on Mac. It looks like all fo those codecs are for Win?
23. Allright, bubs. The WIP thread lives again!!! This image, including dtails about it, can be seen by clicking the link in my sig. p.s.- I just like, totally, sliced open my pinky finger. Crap.
24. How come it's name after a plane?
25. To this day I still think that Manga's dub of the first Patlabor movie is one of the best dubs ever. Overall, it's just very well done.
