1. Why do they get it from US? Don't they get it from the producers in Japan?
2. Spatula, you malaysian? Didn't know that. Well in any case, perhaps ODEX is legit, but gosh a whole shop filled with anime licensed by ODEX makes you think, why does US have to pick their anime whereas s'pore just grabs them all? And they're heck of alot cheaper too, although they come in generic looking crappy plastic boxes. This is probably a stupid question: but when a US company picks up an anime title, they're picking up international distribution rights? Is this true? This was something i vaguely understood from the HG Licensing thread in regards to Macross.
3. Boobies aren't everything mate. Besides with the lolikon fetish making a grand reemergence, flat is ALL THAT. And about Devon aoki holding the sword, well, she had lots of practice in SIn City.
4. I hated the TV series with a passion. It was boring and repetitive. Alucard owns the vampire of the week and proceeds to kill off a non-important vamp by the name of Incognito in the end. Ho hummm....don't remember much else. That kinda made me stay away from all things hellsing, and even the manga doesn't interest me. The OVA was pretty cool though. Very stylised. Lots of dark shots and shiny teeth with evil grins. Non-stop blood spurting action all da way. And I love how everyone greets everyone by their full name coupla times. Integral Wingates Hellsing what? ROFLMAO! Then proceed to narrate the whole situation to unimportant people like what the bullets are made off, or who the Hellsing organisation are, or what the Vatican and bio-regeneration are. Important information nonetheless. Want more.
5. Yes...australia too. But you realise Madman stuff are basically just repackaged ADV/MangaEnt. stuff. And thus the prices for those DVDs are around the same price as the US region 1s. These anime DVDs here in m'sia and s'pore are dubious ones though.
6. Ok, 1st off let me say that I'm from Malaysia and there's no anime licensors for this country but there are stores that sell anime as "originals" approved by the government when in fact they are just repacked HK bootlegs. This gets me annoyed cause here there's no chance for you to get original anime unless you import region 1s from the US which will cost you a bomb for a single DVD. Are these copies that the shops are selling off as "originals" really illegal? Then last weekend i was down at Singapore, i was amazed at the wide selection of anime they had. They were all at affordable prices, and they seem to be locally licensed by this brand called ODEX. They don't really have the cool stuff they package in region 1 like t-shirts, box sets etc. They come in some cheap-a** plastic boxes and they're all the same save the box-art. My question is, is this ODEX company a LEGAL licensor and distributor of anime that actually pays royalties to the anime creators? Cause if they did, it seems any anime under the sun is licensed by them. Won't this cost them a bomb? Even in US, different companies license different titles, and considering the cost they charge for a DVD, the licensing MUST be expensive, right?
7. They'll probably build a SDF-1 themed coffin for you then. You can be buried in zentraedi costume as if you were the last remaning zent on the ass-1 when it crashed.
8. I've seen hotter lei fangs than that one.
9. You know this for a fact? OMG!!! MORE INFO AND PICS!!! I don't like that yellow emblem on the GBP's crotch. Am planning to change it into the Jolly Rogers or something else. What's that big "P" on it mean anyway.....
10. Minmay guard! Dayum...wish i had one.
11. Seems anyone who's a moderator to MW has +10 to hotness and sweet lips. XD
12. Most of this guy's stuff is clean flat paint. But damn they look good especially after modding! http://wonderexcellence.big-site.com/gallery/gallery.htm
13. He is number 1 twice, hence number 11. If that makes any sense.
14. When i get back and if i have the time, i'll attempt a box art for the VF-0.
15. Newbie thread is like the beginner dungeons in RPGs. You gotta go there, kill some rats and insects before you come out to the big bad world of macross. God knows what would happen to you if you came across AgentOne, the ultimate Boss character. Welcome aboard.
16. I've met him. He is... and he does! 374581 Graham....kiss my baby...uhh i mean my valkyrie!!
17. I believe EVA is pretty much confirmed. There was an interview with Anno and the ADV dude. I think Weta confirmed it was working on EVA right after king kong.
18. I agree. It CAN be cool if they do it right. But there's just too many pitfalls that this movie can fall into. Well if it flops , hopefully Japan would come up with something cooler in the near future.
19. Hmm...ok. Any idea what those holes are for? (if you can tell of course ) Now makes you wonder why they have similar holes to the 1/48 there. If it was for the Ghost booster, i reckon it shouldn't join to thebackpack that way. Mebbe its for the reactive armour. Shin densetsu: Yeah. I saw what you mean. Thanks. Gives the thigh joint slightly more mobility. Hopefully that part is racheted just like the 1/48 or there will be problems with it standing up in gerwalk. prometheum: Though the pic of the VF-0A is a hasegawa, a yammie VF-0A is highly likely to be the next release since its just a repaint and new head, whereas a VF-0D is quite possible later on, cause i mean, its Shin's plane. How can they not make it?
20. That is probably almost true. "Give us what we want or we'll boycott you and leave you high and dry" Graham's lips are sweet. Beware his sweet lips.
21. Don't really see what you mean by the knee concealing. Isn't it just the same as the 1/48 with the knee covers? Yeah...i love the way they pose that on the display stand. GAH! This is definately an improvement over the 1/48. I always wondered why they didn't do the full piece turbine in the legs in the 1/48. And they did it in this VF-0. w00ts. I can't decide to leave this in what form. I might just get a whole squadron. >_< There's also the holes in the backpack, the back of the legs and the arms to seemingly fit the VF-1 fastpacks. Well i'm sure the pegs in the arms and the holes in the legs are there for the transformation but the backpack holes....hmmm. It MIGHT fit. But if not, here's waiting on a Ghost fighter. PS: I foresee that there might be a problem with the hands of the VF-0. It looks like you'd have to pull it out of its housing in fighter mode when changing to battroid or gerwalk. Its connected by a wrist joint. So it has to be very tight and durable to handle the pulling. If yammy doesn't do it right, this piece can be the next piece prone for breaking.
22. Check out this modded Terminus, which seems to be using Apache helicopter parts. http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/42...Seven+Terminus/
23. The low viz looks better here than the WF photos. Especially the ones in gerwalk and fighter mode. I like that gerwalk pose with the yammie stand in the stand pics. And the stealth looks kinda good too. I'd hit it.
24. I don't think these were posted yet. Pictures and info thanks to Eddieyew from www.play.com forums.
25. Somebody should do an anime about mecha pilot's elderly days, his struggle against hurting back and shaking hands, falling asleep in cockpit in the middle of the battle. That would be so intense. 373097 You should check out Gun X Sword sometime, it's only in one ep but episode four has exactly what you decsribed in the form of an aging sentai team. 373207 That ep was hilarious!
