  1. ATTENTION! DATE OFFICIALLY CHANGED TO 26TH OF JANUARY! Due to inavailability to the venue, the date has been changed from 12th of January to the 26th of January. Please re-mark your calendars. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Cross posted in several anime-message boards. A bunch of us from MW are holding a local convention with a screening for DYRL. Just posting here for awareness. Macross 25th Anniversary Convention In conjunction with the 25th Anniversary of Macross, the Macross Fans of Malaysia (“MFM”) in collaboration with the Taylor’s Anime Society will hold the “Macross 25th Anniversary Convention” on the 12th of January 2008 at Taylor’s College University main building, Subang Jaya. A special screening of Macross: Do You Remember Love? the movie will be shown at 2pm during the convention and an exhibition would be held to showcase the various Macross merchandise, including the limited edition 25th Anniversary Macross VF-1S and YF-19 Valkyrie. We, the Macross Fans of Malaysia, invite you to join us at the convention and meet other fans of this animation masterpiece. Bring your favourite Valkyrie toy or even cosplay as your favourite Macross characters. Goodie bags sponsored by Animax would be given away (to be confirmed). The tickets of the screening of the movie would be at RM4 but the exhibition is free. The price of the tickets would be used to recover the exhibition and rental costs. Those interested to book a place for the screening, may email their full name and hand phone number to Macross Fans of Malaysia (“MFM’) at macrossmy@yahoo.com as places are limited. 2. Oh great...what a perfect day for the whole of Malaysia to have bandwidth problems. Much Christmas e-greetings cards being sent? ARGH!!! *looks at 1-2kbps transfer rate and currently at 3%* *cries*
  3. I'm talking about fighter mode upside down as seen in the pictures.
  4. The gunpod UN SPACY logo is upside down. Anyway 1/60? Wth...i have like 6-7 1/48. >_< I only hope that the 1/60s are the same price as the old 1/60s that came out long ago. Then MAYBE i'll sell all my 1/48s. Hahaha.
  5. I don't blame them. The item is hard to obtain and instead of holding people's orders for something that may not come they cancelled it 1s.
  6. Yeah its matte. Like I said it looks better than in the photos.
  7. Why am i not surprised izzy is the 1s to get his. XD
  8. Blurdy hell and they cancelled my order. >_> Thanks for the heads up, wolverine!
  9. Black box with a picture of the VF-1S/YF-19 in fighter mode in the middle of it. And below the fighter picture is a round logo for Macross 25th Anniversary in gold.
  10. I was there for work. Might go there again 1s week of jan. Will let u know if i come down there. And yes the wordings for the 25th Anniversary was sharp. Pilot was painted black too. Really nice bird.
  11. yf-19 sported green visor....VF-1S was a clear plastic IIRC. I can't tell what changed though.
  12. Mine too. Sigh. Oh well.
  13. I am in Singapore for the week and got to go to china town to checkout the toystores yesterday and a shop already has them on display though they're not for sale till tomorrow. VERY NICE....for those who doubt the colours and the finishings and are holding back.....get it now! I know i'm sold! Damnit and I was hoping to pass on these.
  14. I won't go into the mathematics of time dilation since the numbers you provided made me go dizzy. I'm sure someone can explain better but i'll try. In Gunbuster there's 2 types of faster than light (FTL) travel which is the normal one, with the use of kinetic acceleration/propulsion (like boosters or being blasted out of the blastzone of a black hole). Another is by the use of WARP, which Gunbuster explains some mumbo jumbo about Tannhauser Gates and Vanishing Motors. Main differences: -Normal requires much more earth time the longer you stay in warp-space. WARP takes a considerably less earth time to get from one place to another since it bends space/time after all. There's your difference between Excellion and the boosters/warp-less Gunbuster. -You need a vanishing reactor to engage WARP travel. For normal, you just need some powerful rockets. About your 10 minutes vs 12 seconds and their glaring differences in earth time, remember that the 10 minutes includes the time taken for them to accelerate to the Luxion's position so they'd be at different degrees of time dilation right up till the Luxion. Also consider that the Luxion is still accelerating to infinity so the longer you stay ON the Luxion (which is going faster and faster), the bigger the difference between warp time and earth time. The concept here is simple. The faster you are going, the faster time passes. And as for how long the gunbuster is drifting before they reached earth....anyone's guess. Probably just a few hours. But they were from the galactic center and the blast was so great that they were propelled all the way back to earth. Going by that speed, its no surprise that 12,000 years have passed in that short amount of time they were in the Gunbuster.
  15. I didn't realise how kibbly Kyrios looked. 0.o
  16. It lives....and Chow Yun Fat is Master Roshi....omg http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-...as-master-roshi
  17. I agree. But it was indeed frustratingly tough. I played through a level 20-30 times before i could get past it. Ahhhh youth.
  18. Dang I think you're right. It was Aquarion. But Eureka 7 also had buncha dream sequences that weren't of the trippy strange-art kind when communicating with the Coral.
  19. She's supposed to be a cyborg. And the Katana....i thought it was some kinda vibro-blade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_vs._Pre...8arcade_game%29 And as for the PC games...the 1s one was sh*t hard. You don't get mid-game saves IIRC. And you die from 1 good swipe from an Alien. If you're lucky, maybe 3 swipes before you die. I remembered the tension was high in the 1st AVP since every corner and every beep of the motion sensor spelled doom. I particularly remembered AVP1 to be ahead of its time in graphics then but due to difficulty and buggy engine, the game didn't receive such a good response. AVP 2 was more forgiving and has more semblance of a story. The armed-power-loader level was pretty cool, though I thought they should've made some cooler exo-skeleton rather than a armed-power-loader.
  20. I thought duke was tough since the VGA tandy days? XD Can't tell from the pixels i think.
  21. Aww come on....duke nukem's the man. We had some wannabe Serious Sam that didn't live up to Duke.
  22. http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/50457 Bout fsking time i'd say.....
  23. Yeap. And remember that dream sequence episode in Eureka 7? That's him too.
  24. You guys are just being old guys complaining in rocking chairs about how it doesn't compare to the olde days. I think Gundam 00 is pretty cool for a show and I don't have to compare it with a 1981 show that I found uber cheesy anyway. But shrug....with SEED, my expectations are way low. I liked ep 11. A big win for CB. Who else is guessing Nadleeh can join with a bigger weapon's platform ala GP-03? And Tiera's golden eyes and that place where he floats seems to suggest a direct interface with machines ?
  25. Yes they do. Generally the body system is called MMS (Multi Movable System, IIRC) which I feel isn't that great since it has alot of trouble standing on its own feet and the body proportions are always the skinny-type.
