Dynamite 7 was awesome. Some detractors of M7 would even say so. You probably were expecting abit much.

While not shown in DYRL? and is more of a tribute to SDFM?, it can easily be worked into canon if they wanted to. She gets them after joining the UN Spacy. The TV-style flightsuit is not even her own. Its Hikaru's scheme. Thus i think more for tribute purposes than for fan-debate. Destroid pilots get TV-styled clothes. ( i don't know how destroid pilots supposed to dress btw)

I pretty much just treat DYRL? as the official canon now since it makes more sense when connecting it with future shows like M7 , Plus and now Frontier since designs, names, and words from DYRL are more often used. And about the movie within M7, it just happen to be named the same. Think of it as a "reference".

I speak truths. Look at Kakizaki vs Max in DYRL. Max survives multiple pulse laser hits on the chests but Kakizaki dies with just one. -
At least i didn't noticed them as easily as i did with Frontier. Final episode will be this right? http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2008/03/29/gundam-00-25/ But i definately missed that one scene you attached. Was it like 1 split second frame out of the whole series as compared to entire episodes of Frontier? This episode? http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2007/11/24/gundam-00-08/ Don't see anything wrong with it at all....unless its all the "00" that is distracting me. Anyway i rather settle for "low level" over an entire series rather than "crap levels" in between overly good levels any day. Over here we have a saying, it takes just a drop of dye to spoil a bucket of milk.

He has a better armour than any SWAG armour. Its called Plot Armour. When you're the hero of a show, your mech will be 10000x more resilient than others using the same mecha. I'm sure when bite the dust later, they'll die from some stray shot. -

Dunno...probably just an exotic weapon....a kind of "sai"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sai_%28weapon%29 Or maybe its fictional since the wiki says weapons are mostly fictional. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_of_the_Immortal -

What beam cannons? Those look like gunpod fire to me from Alto's fighter mode. Apart from the head lasers, were there beam cannons on Alto's VF-25? Hmmm interesting. Does this mean this fold technology allows for instantaneous jump from say Earth to the center of the galaxy without problems of Fold Dislocations? -
Like i said in the ep 4 thread, the economics of Macronised zentraedi doesn't make sense. A pair of shoes cost like a million or more going by the price tag on ep 4. Probably only rich/noble Zentraedi are able to afford being macloned, and not everybody gets this priviledge. Otherwise the economics won't work.

Is the shiny thing on the left hand of Luca's VF the crystal lens thingy? Supposedly used to control ghosts? I wondered why the camera zoomed into it as if its a point of focus for Alto. I still have no idea what Alto and gang studies in the school. What is their curriculum? Are everyone from the school potential fighter pilots, or is it a normal school with many vocations like Zentraedi farming? -
Not sure what comickaze was going on about either. There was little CG in SnM. The ones that i can remember were the renderings of those monsters.

I didn't notice the Work Destroid looking like a cheyenne....i thought it looked more like a Warhammer from Battletech. I think it was pretty obvious to those who have seen Aquarion. 3 part legs = evil feet? I think a new meme is born. Lets see enemy mecha and which ones have "evil feet" Regult = Yes Glaug = Yes N-ger = No Q-rau = No VA-3 = Yes SV-51 = Yes that varauta mech (VF-14?) = No VF-27s might just be "interested" with the Vajra, not exactly aligned with them. I'm still wondering why there is a giant fold booster in that vajra ship and why Luca is so surprised by it. Richard Vilra might be the original Breetai from Space War 1. He has the right eye implant thing and all. Apart from MacPlus there was always a returning chars of heroes of SW1 in all Macross series after all. Why it left, probably looking for something in the Vajra ship but didn't find it or something. Minor grumbling: I realise that Frontier has dropped all of the audio sfx from the rest of the Macross series (though one can say this happpened since Macross Zero). Everything from the thruster sounds, the gunpod sounds, folding sounds, transformation sounds, none was retained. Although I see there is quite a need to upgrade the sound effects, just kinda sad that we don't get to hear the familiar sounds. -

Was he ever directly referred to as Richard Vilra yet or is this on the official website or fan conjecture? -

Just seen the whole thing in high quality raw. Ppl are gonna lynch me if i mention anything about the 2D art here....so i won't say anything except that it still kinda meh. People have mentioned already that we don't see "cannon fodders" being deployed and don't get a sense of how large the scale of the battle was. We get blue and red streaks flying about to represent cannon fodder vs enemies. We only see Skull Squadron in action and only barely seeing Pixie and Koenig Monster haxx0rz so it seems like they were the only ones participating in the battle. Should've shown more cannonfodder blowing up, nameless pilots screaming, etc. But i like how Skull are depicted as an independent special forces team, save Alto and Luca being reckless. The destroids on the Quarter look very much like the Cheyenne from M0. Nice! Macross Cannon's activation has the Japanese characters flashing across the screen....lol....gave me Aquarion vibes, especially when Bobby was the one firing it GAR-Gay-ly. Mysterious enemy (old fugly man & Brera Sterne) seem not to be alien but splinter from NUNs or something. Let the conspiracy begin. The tentacled thing that was holding Luca captive looked like a giant fold booster. Luca mentions that he's detecting a fold reactor in the ship before he got captured by a red lobster. Hmmm....what does it mean? Ep 8 preview.....wth.....quality sunk to new low? -
After watching the raw of ep 7, i have to say that the 2D still isn't up to notch. Ep 8 preview....omfg. Eye cancer for the lack of a better term. *whine whine sulk sulk* Not gonna elaborate.

Gerwalk macross cap ships...i really never saw that coming. >_< -
Bingo. Oh and you lost your cancer pod too.

That would be sad. The sudden Gurren Nishiki upgrade was awesome though...and Kallen knows the controls immediately!

Have u guys seen the next episode preview of 2.0? You see them and the images are quite accurate. But the images could be fanmade i agree.

Depends i guess if the music or the scene is the focus. In visual media more often than not its the scene that is the focus rather than the music. Remember the difference between Deculture edition and Broadcast edition's Don't Be Late? There was noticeable difference in both and its not just because of the scenes. Some people mentioned that the actual audio of Don't Be Late felt abit flat.....and I later found out this was because for 4 months we were too used to the heavy gunfire and jets whooshing sound in the DE that when we heard the song as it should be, felt very flat. -
As far as I was concerned, you were the one pointing it to me thus trolling since i missed azrael's post. "I'm only half-joking since I haven't seen it, yet. but just going by this shot http://img377.imageshack.us/my.php?image=02ba6.jpg I'm waiting for anyone to justify how "pretty" it is against the other previous episodes. Maybe wolfx will do a zoomed-in thingy again" DUH! I think some of us here have watched enough anime to make a proper distinction between good and bad art/animation. Knowing the technicalities behind it and telling ppl "you don't know nothing" is just a way of justifying mistakes and appear to be a jerk at the same time. I don't have to know that it takes 500 camera angles to shoot a scene in The Matrix. But I know those scenes were just plain awesome. Same can be said if can identify a quality stink. Fact is viewers shouldn't even care about these things. To quote Westlo, go watch Seirei No Moribito as a prime good example of a TV series done in remarkable quality. It is an adaptation of a little known novel outside of Japan and look at the treatment they gave it. So citing Macross as "ppl dun care about it" as an excuse is inexcusable. Of course we're not expecting Frontier to be OVA/Movie quality here or even be on par with SnM since that has exceptionally good production values. But at the very least stay consistent and don't look like crap in certain episodes. Hell , even Aquarion also done by Satelight, had less obviously stinker episodes. Japanese forums are also whining about the animation so we're not alone. And they definately have more influence on anime production there than we do, as example, the Gurren Lagann debacle. And i don't think it wise to bring Lucky Star as a comparison to Frontier as i personally think LS was made popular due to Kyoto Animation and the Haruhi craze which had yet to die off. I think LS's appeal in general is the MOE and otaku-centric jokes rather than the interaction. That's uncalled for. This forum is here for discussion and we're doing just that. Sure we don't effect anything in terms of the production of the anime, but neither does ANYONE else in this forum. SnM is awesome. I'll leave it at that. But please don't call anyone stupid. Everyone has a POV and I can see all sides to this debacle. Camp 1: (Fighter mode) Hardcore Macross fans. Only watched Macross, not much of other anime. Animation hiccups are a non-issue to them. Zooms straight ahead. Camp 2: (Gerwalk mode) Anime fans, also a Macross fan. Watched buncha anime, and able to discern between good and bad animation. Animation quality irks them slightly. Balance between the 2 camps. Camp 3: (Battroid mode) Hard to please: The original Macrosses are the best. Frontier has many problems etc. Sheer energy conversion armour baybeh. Bitch bitch bitch.
