1/60 YF-19 Gerwalk Locking Chest Mod
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in The Workshop!
Sounds good. It'd also solve the problem of the underside piece not locking properly wich is also a bummer. Edit: Hey Wicked Ace, Is that a 19 Stealth custom I see back there? -
Megahouse must've taken this route to improve poseability. It's not much of deal breaker, but suddenly CMs' version looks more appealing to me.
-
I've bad news on the Megahouse ride armor: I was looking at the armor mode pic and specially liked how the shoulder seats so high up, unlike Toynami's. Then I started to wonder how the shoulder pice got in that position and I got scared of the answer: the shoulder piece should be swappable i.e. even farther to perfect transformation. I thought that to make this possible Megahouse would've to have made a small hole or slot on each shoulder pad of the pilot. So I went to my Ridearmor Toys folder in search for pics and to my horror I found this:

CMs could be fun to have, I'll wait for more detailed pics of the final protos. I've preordered the Megahouses as well. The sculpt looks great and I don't mind the riders bodies. Besides MH's look much more poseables, but as jenius said, Toynami's probably end up costing us the same if not less than the Megahouses, so I might give it a shot if the reports aren't too catastrophic.

1/60 YF-19 Gerwalk Locking Chest Mod
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in The Workshop!
I remember that. So I guess I'm not a genius after all :'( Oh, well, I guess great minds think alike I only wish the 1/72 had a Battroid chest locking mechanism were we could draw inspiration from to fix the 1/60. -
WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!

Judging form Macross 7 both fighters made it to production, with changes tho'. But we do have the VF-19a from the game wich is cannon and identical to the YF-19. As for the 21, Yamato only would have to change the head and canopy and do repaints ad nauseam. Edit: Almost forgot: Hey Graham, where are those YF-21 pics?

1/60 YF-19 Gerwalk Locking Chest Mod
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in The Workshop!
Thanks Mechaninac. I've forgot about the 1/72. I hate it so much I just buried it in a box somewhere. But yeah, I'm not much of a modeller, so I looked at the easiest way possible to fix the chest, so the damage wouldn't be so noticeable in case I screw it up. -
I like the all blue one with the black cockpit. A stealth would be nice too

Yamato 1/60 YF-21 News & Pics
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
On a closer inspection of the TV ad, I found out that the shoulder pads are hidden inside the airtake blocks: It seems that there's a opening panel in the bottom, so apparently you swivel the shoulder inside. Very clever. Also it seems like the fuselage under the cockpit splits in two making room for the nosecone to slide inside. -
Agreed 100% with Twoducks. I also hope that CMs figure out the Tread's landing gear. For the proto pics it seemed that they were swappable.
-
There's no way you can have a perfect transformation Cyclone. It's too bad you can't have the front shock absorbers stored somewhere in the armor, but you have to swap the arm armor plates anyway.

I see Yamato took inspiration in the Hasegawa model for the nose sculp. Good call. I also love Battroid's head. The hands are the best we've seen from Yamato yet IMHO. I wish the legs seated further into the armpits in Battroid, as it is it looks too human, but that also means you have to make the flightpack shorter and where would you store the long legs then? So I guess I'll have to deal with it. What else... Oh yeah: Yamato get you ass down and upload those Hi-Res pics on your website already!!!! Edit: By the way, if Yamato can't do the VF-22's nor the game version due to licensing issues (Graham stated that it "might" be an issue with the game licence), wich other non canon schemes are possible? Are they any interesting fan works out there that Yamato could use as "inspiration"?

Yamato 1/60 scale YF-19 Fix/Modification Thread
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Wicked Ace's topic in The Workshop!
Hi guys! I posted this mod as a new tread, then I saw this pinned tread about the 19, so here's the link for the locking chest mod I made for Gerwalk mode. Now my Gerwalk mode feels rock solid, I love that. Plaese feel free to make any questions. Link: http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=24162 -

Yeah, Toynami's sculpt is spot on. Too bad about the design. I have all four of the originals, no big QC issues fortunately, but I'm too waiting for CMs to overdo Toynami. As for CMs sculpt, remember that they pulled back those prototypes a long time ago and haven't showed nothing since then, so we might be in for a surprise. Not that I mind their sculpt that much. I've only hated the intakes, really.

So this finally explains why Yamato has been so secretive about the 21: They were making a damn commercial. Well, the caps of the toy surely will be poor, but after the airing nothing stops Yamato from publishing the pics on their own website. THAT's good news

That scene would be nice made as a "story image figure" thing. With the wrecked starfighter and all.

Tribute to Dobber camo !!!!!! sv-51 repainting
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Ghostkiller's topic in Toys
Great! Can't wait to see the result. What you have so far looks pretty pro. I hope this will help Yamato to make their minds up on the Dobber scheme. -
1/60 YF-19 Gerwalk Locking Chest Mod
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in The Workshop!
A quick update before anyone tries this: I've just realized that the swiveling shoulder piece does touch the wing root a bit since the chest mount sits now a bit lower. You can easily fix this sanding down the "armpit" just a little bit. Also do the slots as low as possible. As I said before, I'm even happier with my 19 now than when I forst got it. Such a great toy. Now I'll try to find an simple way to lock the chest on Battroid too -
