Yeah. It reminds me of YF-30 Shoulders. It has the 25 torso sequence and the 30 shoulder/arm sequence. Curious on what kind of pod it carries since it doesn't look like a traditional 25 shield.

I think the shoulders on the 30 are one piece whereas the 31 is slightly different. From the screenshots of the 31 it looks as if the front canards form the front shoulders "without" a corresponding back piece. Think of it like a front armour for the shoulder.

Front Swept Wings, ala the 19 and the 29.

Too bad the valks seems to have the same old backpack wings in Battroid mode.

The fact that the front canards merge to form the shoulder pads and plus the size of large delta wingspan would differentiate it somewhat...

It'd have to be a one shot ova. Cuz destroid always get destroid usually with one shot. Lol get it. Just kidding.

Yeah all of that gold paint is going to need some industrial strength top coat to prevent gold flakes flying everywhere during transformation.

Bandai has done similarly for the VF-27's with their mix of green/purple and white lining, so i suspect it wouldnt be much different in implementation here..

And the Draken somehow have the traditional VF-1 look in the silhouette. Looks interesting.

I suspect that they only used the VF-1 silhouette by default cos they havent figured out how it transforms!

That 31 has a single laser mounted on top of its head aka CF style.

The missile pod is the dragoons in Delta. Missiles spam instead of beam spam.

The missile pod isnt really showing the new blue and white vf31 tho, due to lack of visibility of any missile bays ala vf-30....who knows it may turn up on the others...

I would like to thk that it would be gold plastic, however thats going to prove to be a challenge for bandai in form fitting the parts together.

I dont thk they can color inject sperately on a single sheet of plastic but they have the scale and experience as a toy company so who knows...

either that or it could be a very elaborate piece of tampo...if they pull it off they will have a notch higher on their tampo-kingness!

Since the unveiling of the SV-262 what are the tots abt it?

like i mentioned in the delta annoucement thread, the legs seem to be more aligned to wing-facing rather than top/down thrusting...which may mean more of a built for speed valk.

Am not sure abt the size of the tyhruster protrusions tho...it seems quite ok in the lineart but from the model its a bit elongated?

However the color scheme is a quite fetching...

So if the VF-31 is a new valk, then would you plonk $ for a first release?

I thk the consensus b4 was if its a 30 makeover, it would be reasonably ok.

However am not sure if the 31 constitutes new transformation sequences or structure in any way different from the 30...

As I posted in the other thread, I guess they rotate 180° along the forearms, so that they can point forward in fighter mode.

it may be possible, but of course they would have to contend with their own 1/60 scale releases canabalising the hi-metal line.

I mean who would have the $$ left after spending on a 1/60 multi colored line..

This would be due to the fact that 1/60 would be coming out b4 any hint of himetals for the delta..

The 31 looks DOPPPPPPE! But it ;ooks different enought that I still might attempt to get a YF-30.

I suddenly realised that since it did not display the 30 in the new series...i thk the existing 30 toy price may ummm go up in the long run?? idk shhh....

Or an added character who joins the group mid-way through the series.

Also, I (fortunately) miscounted. It looks like the Draken squad is in classic Diamond Force colors, one with yellow/gold stripes, the rest with white/silver.. fortunate because there's actually 6 of them.

Looks like 5 on the VF-31 side though, and I expect those will all be unique.

This is going to be a serious struggle for people who like elaborate displays.

On one hand i do like the color design on the valks this time and i hope bandai can pull it off stunningly in their dx line.

however from a display perspective its gonna boil down to just 2 basic valk designs, and if i get those, compelling me to splash out more for a recolor may not be so appealling straight away.

But from what i see on the AKB48 side of Colored Sentai Valkyries are Light Blue, Dark Blue, Blue Green, Yellow, and Purple. Not sure if they will ever release a 'Red' variant for this.

Red variant would be reserved as a high priced exclusive.

hmmm.... well at least it can be retracted... and the design doesn't force it (the 30 looks worse without the missile pod)

and they got rid of those oversize 747 engines on the wings of the 29. the 31 looks promising.

i do hope they find a way to implement those rudders on the wings better than the 30 dx tho, and have them stay in place by a mechanism and not friction.

floppy rudders on the wings would not look good...
