  1. I'm not seeing it in the pic seti88 posted :(

On sept 24 Mr K retweeted the following, as translated by the net..

Mr. K busily work in! I will do my best all employees towards the VF-0S sale! ! !

    and the accompanying pic...

    post-15116-0-93364900-1443438092_thumb.jpg

I tried to enlarge it but its too grainy, however from line pointers on the side of the plane i thk i see UNSpacy as being part of a sticker sheet...

it may be logical to re-use some sticker sheet portions i guess...but it may also give hope that the head lasers are tampoed with redlines...

when it comes to looking at arcadia's pre-production test shots...will take things with a grain of salt...but still fingers crossed!

  2. Am really liking the color from the mr. K's feed..

    post-15116-0-84905600-1443434975_thumb.jpg

    looking darn cool... B))B))B))B))

Not sure either if its been posted, i didnt see it but from his timeline....does the helmet count as more skull tampo?

  3. Just to confirm what was meant with the stealth comments - he is trying to steer away from stealth elemts in REAL world designs when designing new valks.

He wasn't referring to stealth being a factor at all in Delta.

Ah i see.... thanks for clearing that up....thats good... Avoid the all transformers look alike when they move so fast syndrome....

more pronounced and charestic shapes/lines on the valks!

will eagerly anticipate the new valks line art....

  4. Woohoo! Some very exciting bits indeed. Good to know he's revisiting the valk vs valk aspect. I'd be extremely happy if it's Plus meets Frontier.

It might not have passive stealth but active stealth was introduced in Plus. As for the colours, I always assumed the Frontier and 7 valks were in bright colours to make them stand out vs a black, space background.

The cynic part of me wants to say they chose white blue cos its probably the cheaper ink to use..*jokes*...tho now being land based, it would make sense to blend into a sky like atmosphere....

  5. Some hints dropped by Kawamori during today's panel.

(Going from memory and via my phone on-site):

-The Valkyrie in the key visual is indeed influenced by the Draken. Recent planes stat to look similar due to stealth tech/designs and a fight between two Valkyries based on modern stealth planes wouldn't be that interesting. Similarly, they would be difficult to differentiate between in animation/dogfights.

Kawamori liked the Draken when he was growing up, so he drew upon it for inspiration. Similarly, he referred to it as a Valkyrie so it does actually transform.

-The white and blue valk is a logical progression on Valkyries seen to date. The 'Draken' valk is an all original transformation and this posed more of a challenge.

-Different thruster colors - in-universe the Valkyries engine are made by different companies. The coloring also makes them easier to distinguish visually.

-The relatively bright coloring of the white and blue valk is also an attempt to go against the visual trend of stealth fighters.

-The Delta logo - it mainly represents the three main pillars of Macross. But the fact that the sides don't join indicates that the triangle is not a predetermined outcome. Some elements may or may not come together to necessarily form the triangle as expected.

-The planet in the background of the logo is a hint regarding the setting. Details to be revealed on Oct 29.

-Kawamori wanted to revisit valk vs valk combat in a TV series since he felt that this was something that hasn't been done in a TV iteration of Macross for a long time.

-Major details including characters and setting will happen during the live stream on Oct 29. The winner of the idol contest will also be present.

    nuggets galore!

    - transforming draken? this i gotta see..would it mean a faction wont be reliant on stealth then? Would be intrigued to see why that is so...

    - so the valk variant is a stealth? from the poster it looks like the draken is more stealthy.. a bright stealth fighter may be confusing to understand tho, i hope they would also have more logical stealth colors which wouldnt help chogokin sales either.

    - looking forward to Oct 29 on the planet...mayhaps the frontier fleet has finally made it home somewhere...

    - am gushing abt valk v valk combat! hopefully more mecha designs than an itano circus barrage....altho my wallet is starting to tighten up.....

    am so excited!! :lol::lol:

The Hype Train has become a HYPE ROCKET!!!

and the rocket is about to enter fold space....sorry not sure what that means..

  6. It could also be that the craft in the background has two main thrusters like the Typhoon for example but has its Battroid legs placed side by side so it creates the illusion of a single engine aircraft.

that may mean then that the arms are outside the legs in fighter mode...straight-forward birdman....altho gerwalk would mean really tight spacing in the legs somehow...

  7. I'm pretty hyped for the upcoming Macross series. I haven't been this excited since Frontier 8 years ago.

Anyway, does anyone else here think that the promo image for Delta gives of a Macross Plus vibe?

I did too in the beginning with the opposing valks...

After mulling it over, with the like planet involved in the lettering, suggesting perhaps they may have shifted to a land/planet based scenario.

if i was a japanese mind, that would spell out colonisation/race/faction war which commonly appears in the earlier days of anime..

    am still excited nevertheless! :)

  8. I think I might prefer that the valkyries need fold boosters. Not only do Macross-style fold boosters make FTL for fighters more limited and more distinct among all science fiction than the typical Star Wars/Star Trek space craft (and as a result, more dramatically interesting), it also allows for the creation of visually interesting fold boosters as an accessory, both in-universe/in-series and as merchandising for toys and models.

I've never understood the hesitation to the idea. The YF-21 Battroid mode works just fine positioning it's main engines with the back torso and deploying retracted legs stored internally when needed. And most of the battroids have a rocket pack on the rear torso to fly around in battroid mode. IMO, single engine could work just fine doing the same.

Yeah, that really looks like the top of the cockpit to me, given all those red, glowing cameras/sensors.

I too think a single engine valkyrie would be great, especially in the right design like this Draken-inspired craft. Though to be honest, I would really imagine that in a Draken-like craft, it would be too tempting not to make the big side fuselage portions into the legs. Doesn't discount a single engine battroid, but each left-right section having a foot at the back would be really easy to envision and build :)

the 21 had its thrusters spaced apart, running down the back but almost down the leg path. Cant conclusively say how the thrusters on the draken-copy would appear similarly in battroid, however if they dont part it may look like a single nozzle hanging back down in the middle.

the effective rotation of battroid may be affected if there arent space apart for torgue from the thrusters.,.

    will see i guess...

It might be wishful thinking, but I expect at least the first couple of kits to be revealed as soon as tomorrow. :) Bandai, Hasegawa, Wave, bring it on!

I feel like a kid again and cant sleep well!

  9. The closest comparison I can make to an existing fighter mode airframe is the YF-27. Behold.

    More pics:

    http://frameout.blog67.fc2.com/blog-entry-340.html

Frameout!! and i was looking thru pics of valks wondering where i saw something similiar (other than the 30 that is)!

You have a good memory...that looks real similar!

if delta valks have those artlines, bandai would have my $$ if they come up with that tampo!

the draken is a contender for tampo of the year if the lines on its body happen to be extensive like an bio-mech circuit board....

Also looking at the exhaust flames of the draken, it looks like 2 very close nozzles burning together(forming a giant flame)...i would like to see how it transforms!

  10. As silly as this might sound, I figure it may be things they salvage from Vajra technology and physiology. These include micro fold reactors that allow indefinite operating times, a micronised fold drive for individual valks without use of fold boosters, and munitions that can be "unlimited" as they are warped directly into the weapons of the valk. The vajra had these abilities. That is assuming they managed to artificially create fold Quartz.

And maybe more practical and civilian use of the vajra fold network without cybernetics.

a centralled managed fold armament system supplying to the valks would be quite interesting....although in such respects i would expect them to go down the drone path too....

is it possible we would see transforming and merging valks? like the old alpha-beta configurations of mospeada...

Here's the symbol in question. A lightning bolt? An 'S'? Squadron 69?

    macross_delta_symbol.png

It's on the tail fin and also just below the cockpit.

    delta_valk_zoomed.png

There's also a yellowish blob closer to the nose that could possibly be an SMS logo? but I really doubt it.

    delta_sms_maybe.png

I am just waiting for the updated skull markings! slobber......

    :p:pB))B))

the delta's in opposite direction could mean like a demonstation team or something ...esp with the light blue angel colours ...suddenly interrupted by a menacing draken delta wing...

  11. I wonder if it's even possible that red-Draken-like craft could be single-engine. THat would certainly be different.

can confirm until we see the reverse side...although with a single engine, its gonna be pretty ackward in battroid...

i mean the feet may have their own mni thrusters but you then have a big ...ummm backside thruster hanging downward!

  12. Given that we previously heard that Delta is only set a few years after Frontier (I forget how many), it's not surprising that the airframe and basic transformation of the hero VF will likely be similar to Frontier-era / Macross 30 era VFs.

Anyway, from what we can see of the design, it's pushing all the right buttons for me so far.

I just hope it's a military VF, in a conflict / war based story.

I really don't want see a Macross anime about racing VFs, basketball playing VFs or sky surfing VFs.....yuk!

    Graham

basketball playing VFs? slam dunking the enemy mechs...

The engine nozzles/battroid feet on the white and blue bird look like the ones on the FF-3001 engine..... and the other valk seems to be brainwave-controlled......... Interesting....... Macross Plus ???.......

macross plus that was just what i posted a min ago! seems like the poster does draw comparisons to it eh...

One thing is for sure. The "Hero Valk" 's air frame and basic transformation will be very similar to Frontier-era valks. Not sure if that's a good thing. As much as I loved the Frontier-era valks I was hoping for a whole new revolutionary valkyrie with new transformation scheme. But really I' m not sure how would Kawamori improve on it.

Anyway, anyone wanna start naming the Valks? :D

    To continue the Arthurian theme:

    VF-34 Lancelot?

    VF-37 Mordred?

    XD

arthurian theme eh? there would be a lady of the lake songstress....

  13. the draken valk looks interesting fi wonder how they will pull off the battroid mode...most likely there will be a sharks fin on his back of some sort...

the yf-30 (soon to be vf) lookalike was expected so not much of a surprise there tho ..liking some of the reinforcement holes on the side of the thrusters ...

and ....it looks like an updated macross zero poster of some sort? i thk there was talk of going more character development somewhere...

  14. noel, spanner nice money throwing pics :D

thats what i call big boys toys...the fleet pic never gets old... B))

...although i would save some room for the 0s with reactive fighting off the 51's attacking the ship and then a space for........the destroid cheyenne!!! can we ever hope??
