Different artist. Different look.

Not again....and it's not even April Fools.....

I would disagree. Those FAST packs are also used in space. I believe they also appear in episode 48, before they fold to Varuata.

I knew something looked familiar about that shot. That is from Macross II. Attached is the corresponding scene. For those of you with the Manga release, the time is: 1h:59m:32s.

Just made my order. Thanks for the heads-up Graham.

Take a wild guess.... Unfortunately, they are still fleshing out the characters (watching the raws... ) so I'll get back to you once they start working on the story.

A good example would be M0. Look at the Cheyenne. The Cheyenne served as point defense of the Asuka. Even with the booster, the Cheyenne still had to stay close to the ship, or risk sinking. It couldn't fly and it's range was limited to the size of Asuka. Most Destroids only serve the purpose of being a walking turret/artillery. In space, they don't have the mobility of a VF. It would be cheaper to just install turrets at key points over using destroids to cover the area.

I don't think anybody on this forum said that... 1) If M0 was licensed, there would be a big topic on it. 2) There is an ongoing legal debate on who owns what in the Macross franchise, and as such, has frozen most attempts to license any part of Macross outside what has already been released by Animeigo/HG and Manga Video.

http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showth...threadid=103447 There's some fanart in that thread based on the spy reports. We have a rough idea as well. The suit is dark charcol grey-ish color with the cape, cowl, boots and gloves a dark-blue/almost black color. The belt will have compartments for tools and will be a dark yellow color. There's some more details in that thread.

Interesting...The symbol looks similar to the old symbol. The pre-bat-in-the-oval that is (1927- 1950s? and current). (Pic courtesy of DC Comics) As for the continuity, I don't think it's going to be a problem. Batman Begins is really suppose to restart the movie franchise. And their going back to the early days of Batman's career. If Michael Caine is Alfred, that's a much younger looking Alfred than the Michael Gough version. And Gary Oldman as younger Lt. James Gordon. I'm more interested in the costume designs, the Batmobile (which is suppose to have a big chase scene in the movie) and such.

Fan-custom? Can't really call it a fan-custom since Kawamori drew it. If you have to hang it anywhere on your pic board, hang it with the VF-EX stuff. Although, considering that the VF-0 uses lots of fuel, the drop tanks aren't a bad add-on. edit: So Egan, can we consider this something similar to the Mobile Suit Variations (MSV) from the Gundam designers?

hummm....I'm getting flashbacks of Kawamori at Anime Expo....

Privileges of rank....But there were instances of officers carrying Garands instead of a M1 carbine or a M1 Thompson. But that was to fill the ranks of the squad. Officers didn't need to be in the line-of-fire all the time so they didn't need to lug around the 4 kg Garand. Same with the heavy equipment troops. A Garand is way too much to carry so they would take a M1 Carbine. In some cases, your machine gun may be too much to move around (takes 2 guys to move it) so you may designate someone in the squad to carry a SMG and it doesn't have to be an officer. It could be a Sgt. or someone else. But keep in mind that a Garand and a M1 Thompson weigh about the same. And if you're going on a mission where walking is involved, it might be better to take a Garand where you're carrying 80-128 rounds over 200-300 rounds for the SMG.

1) Moaramia eventually joins the UN armed forces. Yep, she grows up. If, you could call it that... 2)It's Emilia....The reason we don't have a lot of info on the other girls is because there hasn't been much written on them. Beyond their birthdates and a picture, there has been very little story on the other girls. Komilia was a central character in an unofficial game but that doesn't really count.

evil flying aircraft carriers from space?
azrael replied to dedalus001's topic in Movies and TV Series
True, but how do we know it didn't? All he said was the analysis indicated that when the guns fired, it caused ship-wide malfunctions. Were they mechanical or program problems that caused the malfucntions? All they could figure out was, after the main guns fired, the ship turned into a engineering mess. We really don't know what that SA trojan program did because everything happened after the main guns fired. It's also coincidental that these systems are linked so again, what was the cause (main guns connect to the fold drive which connects to main power, without the fold drive, they couldn't fire the main guns, hence the need to transform to connect the guns to main power)? Once you get past the main guns firing, it can go lead to both mechanical or program failure. All the problems go back to the main guns. -

It's a great, under-used feature of many forums.... http://www.anime.net/macross/production/an...tion/index.html Try any one of those.

But something had to have been there in order for the main guns to fire. My guess is that a program still existed in Macross that they overlooked. But that still goes back to me saying we don't know. Everything happened after the fact. As far as they knew, everything was peachy and ready to go for actual testing. Who would know that the main guns would fire automatically, then have your grav generators rip themselves out of the hull, then have your fold drive act funny and ditch you around Pluto all in a day? Something must have set off the chain of events.
