It's around 2070. We're not completely sure of the time period (we've only seen "20XX" on posters). Will M7 be required viewing for Frontier? No. If anything, we'll get a short-short-short history lesson which would summarize what has happened previously. The previous Macross series will probably be optional viewing if you want a more in-depth history lesson.

And I don't see that changing either. Macross has never been heavy on the capital-ship combat and I expect Frontier to follow that aspect of the formula. I think anybody looking for BSG-style will probably not find it in Frontier. Anyways, Kawamori likes his VFs more.

AMS-129 Geara Zulus...So the Geara Dogas and Zaku had kids huh? I don't see that much coming from the SEED section anymore. Maybe one of the Astray units (I would lean toward Red Frame) but I don't see much more coming from SEED. Most of the other kits got a proper clean-up from BEE-Craft. I'm lowering my bet on Nightingale. Too big. Maybe later but not now. I still have X, Double V, Turn X, Asshimar high on the list. With Unicorn going to 1/100 NGs first, we will probably see a Unicorn MG but that will be down the road. They could use #102 for something easy like a CCA grunt unit or a recoloring. With Gundam 00 coming out They probably don't want to steal any thunder from that series.

I won't put it past them if they set up some security measures to block recording devices. But those pictures posted earlier say otherwise. But taking snapshots as opposed to holding up your phone to record video is less likely to get your ass thrown out.

This might be possible, but I think this might be a story-limiting point. I say only a PPB. An ODB system might be make the VFs too powerful. Or otherwise a temporary ODB similar to the bubble shield of Halo 3. One use full protection. But otherwise only a update PPB. I think this will be a moot point. Whatever new stealth technology they throw out will probably be defeated making that all moot. We've seen similar technology schemes in other series and for some reason, they appear to be defeated, so I see no change. I see this as a footnote. I can see this since it would save fuel. I see no Spiritia-based or Varauta-based weaponry. I think we'll be moving away from that train-of-thought. I think we'll still keep missiles. Can't get rid of a classic.

The question you should be asking is, "Did she survive long enough to make it out of the movie and into the series?" (A) looks horrible. (B) looks the best out of the bunch although, I would prefer something better. ( C), I don't really like the section look but the centered title and logo looks better then the top-aligned title.

How much future-proofing (i.e. how long do you want it to last you) do you want to do and how much are you willing to spend because these will affect my answer .

OAV? You can try to extract them. Google it to find a slew of sites and utilities. Movie? Subs are hard-coded. Don't bother. Considering that the US release has been out forever, why waste time putting subs on the HD version? It suppose to be 100% identical except for the fact that it's HD-quality. If you know what their saying in the US releases, I don't see how it would be that hard to follow.

It's always possible. One thing to note is that the Compendium only lists relevant facts and info. We don't need to know something if the impact of it has no significance. Does history need to know how and when Focker's VF-1S was given to Hikaru in terms of the big picture? No. All history needs to know is that Hikrau was in the war from start to finish. Do we need to know about the adventures of every colonial fleet? No, just the ones that impact the story the most. In terms of writing, it's always been noted that Macross is "a work in progress". Don't expect Kawamori to flesh out all the details because he hasn't written all the details down, and for that matter, he's not going to. Why should he limit himself by spelling out every minor detail of the world he created?

And of course the women...In the Empire, there are hardly enough women around in uniform. I would be staring at a clones or a bunch of guys. There are practically no girls around the Empire.

One must remember that the hype-machine for Gundam 00 is a much larger machine. Also Sunrise's Gundam animation plate has been clean since earlier this year after cleaning up GSD. So they've had plenty of time to work on episodes. The only thing that would slow them down is whether marketing is gonna interfere with the writers room.... In terms of marketing, Gundam will always win over Macross. So just because we don't hear as much, doesn't mean they aren't doing anything. It's just being drowned out by that other mecha show. We still don't have a confirmed broadcast date for this series among a missing video.
