  1. That's all it is though, an assumption. While there may be common technology being worked on with the F-14 experiment group and the VF-0, how they fit into their roles would be different. New tech was worked into the F-14 experiment program while the VF-0 use new tech to build from the ground up.
  2. Actually, they said the VF-0 inherited the F-14's experimental testing group, not that it was based off the F-14. And it's larger because of the engines.
  3. If he cries about it, he can't do anything about it anyways. So post away!
  4. Maybe that's part of my disappointed with the RT kids that come here. If this thread is on their first set of stops, then they're here to cause trouble. Which earns them very low marks and makes me inclined to ban them right then and there. We have had and continue to have people come here just for this thread. They never even bothered to see that we have a Toys and Models sections, or even have threads about other things.
  5. Why is it all these RT fans gravitate toward this thread first??? [action=facepalm] Yeh, don't answer that. [/action]
  6. I blame EXO for this. Ruin the movie 2 months before it comes out... *grumble grumble*
  7. It depends on your definition of colonization. http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/colonizing http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/colony http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/settle Now yes, setting up a military base is "colonizing" an area. But military bases aren't really permanent establishments. When we think of colonizing, we think more of Macross, Southern Cross, BSG, or Star Trek colonizing. As in leaving our known solar system.
  8. Ain't that the truth..... Even with the rebate price of a SSD, I could get a 1TB hard drive for cheaper. Google SSD vs hard drives and you'll see a pages of comparisons between the 2.
  9. No. Just because it was based on a Vajra doesn't mean it actually calls Vajra.
  10. As I've said, they've rolled in the past 5 years of popular anime, and then some, into 1 series. You want transforming planes? Its got it. You want wicked finishing moves? Its got that, too. You want aliens? Yeh, its got that. Hell, it's even got the "Red Comet" and a masked character.
  11. You're probably thinking about how chaff countermeasures work. Chaff, as you know, creates a large cloud of metal shards which stay in the air and flutter much longer than used brass of a gun. Spent casings would fall out in a more linear fashion, creating a thin line.
  12. For the most part, the spent casings are ejected away and would disappear rather quickly so I won't worry that much about the casings affecting stealth. SkullLeaderVF-X, for more information, I would suggest reading up on the Heckler & Koch G11 regarding more information about caseless ammo and its modern applications (keep in mind, guns, like muskets, were caseless back in the day ). One other issue is energy consumption. Something that the VF-0's entries in the Chronicle mention is while Battroid-mode uses only a small bit of power, while energy converting armor while in Battroid consumes a a majority of the rest of the energy. So any beam weapon would have to compete with other systems for power. But, the one overriding issue with beam weapons as primary weapons is costs.
  13. For the people who are still alive...
  14. *tap tap tap* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXUYhFz-SwI Lacking patience, children these days...mmmmph.
  15. I'm gonna go with "No".
  16. I believe that scene described what happened in past tense. Million of years ago, they mated with another hive.
  17. THERE SETO, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW????? And you people think I complain about the VF-1 being all over the Chronicles is bad... Respectively. There's no pleasing him...
  18. We don't do versus threads on Macross World so don't even start. Especially when they involve 2 universes that don't belong together.
  19. I would probably get it now or by the end of the month. They just released some new chips in January 2010. The Core i9's are suppose to be coming in Q2-2010, but those will probably be priced outside of your budget so those chips would probably not be a good idea. But for most of the year, they are going to focus on the Core i3, i5 and i7 lines.
  20. Is it me or does the baddy at the end have a Geass-thing going with that glowing eye? The collar, hair-style and glowing eye reminds me of Lelouch.
  21. So they're basically copy-pasting from Wikipedia......
  22. At $500, it's doable. But it will probably take a little patience. As I said, out of the CPU/RAM/MB set, a Core i7 would eat about half the cost of the set. This is probably where he'll probably want to focus his search on Slickdeals. RAM will probably cost between $90-$110, depending on which kind of RAM he gets. For example: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ - Retail GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD3L LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield 2.8GHz LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80605I7860 - Retail Total: $484.97 And the only thing on sale is the motherboard. But there are 2 socket sizes for the Core i7, LGA 1156 and LGA 1366. The 1366 is about $10 more, but it can only run up to DDR3-1066 RAM, which would drop the price a bit. It won't be high end but it you will get decent performance for mid-range parts.
  23. Renato, you might want to have Graham talk to them. "Gentleman, Renato has been classified VWB: Valkyrie Whipping Boy. In the event of product release, all friendly corporations will immediately send their toys at Renato to calibrate their customer service systems."
  24. It's just another tragic example of how people think all this place is a HG-bitching session. Now THAT'S a Seto-impression.
  25. Lovely, they are making podcasts for each episode. Time to rewatch it all over again...with the commentary. I think that's the point.
