  1. Alright kids, you know there's a app thread for that. Seriously, who cares if they look at your profile? What are they going to do, ban you again after you've been banned? Good grief.
  2. Remember this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=30542 Yeah, looks like it's coming back to haunt us again.
  3. Hey, they combined Michel and Saito (GitS:SAC) into a character. And the main ship even has a wave-motion-gravity-blast-Macross-cannon-super-laser-type gun.
  4. I prefer the cheap way of making cables disappear without punching holes into the wall. Hide them behind cabinets, bookshelves or other furniture and tack them down against the wall near the baseboards where they do stand out to make it neat.
  5. Actually I plan on looking at some of the VF-1 stuff but that's after I finish with the additions of Frontier to timeline, M+, M7, M0, and whatever parts of Frontier I haven't looked at yet, and finally MII. SDFM and DYRL? are on the lowest priority on my list unless I know there's something missing.
  6. 3D is coming to a living room near you (CNet - Jan. 15, 2009) I think for 3D to really take off is to get rid of the eyeglasses. If that can happen in the theaters, then the chances of it pushing farther and farther into the consumer market stands a better chance. There are screens that can do it now but as eugimon mentioned, the cost is higher and the effect isn't as good so we end up going back to the eyeglasses. So I'm gonna go with fad for now.
  7. Well, he has to produce stuff to keep up the license and you can't argue with what the fanbase wants.
  8. I just bought one over the holidays and I haven't had a problem with it. No damage or missing accessories. However, you mileage may vary.
  9. You don't really need to copy any files from Windows 2008. You just need to enable PAE, DEP mode, and if necessary, screw with the memory handler in the BIOS. But you'll probably end up making things unstable. It's easier to just install a 64-bit version. And I'll say, those are some pretty good deals.
  10. Need I remind you, those are "recommended" specs. You don't have to follow them. If you do still want to think about AMD, shiroikaze posted a really good deal on an Athlon II X3 deal a while back and that CPU is a decent chip to use. It might be something worth taking another look at.
  11. While our majority here at MW may prefer subs, the majority of buyers, if my memory serves me, prefer dubs. Majority may not make it right, but one has to cater to their target audience's wallets.
  12. Eva? Eva?? Which release of Evangelion? The original TV series? The "Director's cut"? The movies? Macross dub I can see cuz Animeigo put out a version before they did and how many people did they expect to double dip. Well, that was ADV's fault for selling anime with no merchandise. Money is in merchandising. So of course RT would sell better since it has t-shirts, CDs, toys, etc.... When the LAM comes, the least I expect them to try is toys, t-shirts, games, books, and a Burger King promo. ADV was only in the business of selling videos. The margin of return is really small for the video-only market. Because Animeigo never contact him. Why would they?
  13. That should be enough to clear your gaming needs. The HD4670 (the actual name for the M96XT) actually can run Crysis fairly well (equal or better compared with a GeForce 9600) at medium detail.
  14. Meh. My box can do it without breaking a sweat. With a RAM upgrade alone, it could probably last you another 2 more years.
  15. At least they didn't find traces of white sticky fluid. Guess we have a new version of the Pokemon-seizure.
  16. Anybody want Ultimate Spider-Man movies???
  17. For the language impaired... (My comments in (bold)) Mechanic Sheet * VF-0D Phoenix (More data and art...yummm) * VF-19 Excalibur (VF-19F.... probably has the Super parts as well) * Macross 7 (B-sheet probably) * Vajra (sheet for the little ones???) Character Sheet * Mao Nome * Millia Fallyna Jenius (M7 sheet?????) * M7 Civilians Timeline sheet * Galaxy Fleet crisis (So we're gonna spend the next 9 issues with Frontier huh....) World Guide sheet * Zentradi Technology Sheet * Variable Fighter - Missiles (Nothing like spending an entire section on an Itano-circus) Glossary Sheet * Hassan - Vampire (Varauta army vampires, I guess) * PCS Reaction - VF-5000 Star Mirage (Now we're getting to the VFs) Extra Sheet * Game & Advanced Valkyrie 4

  19. USB is suppose to provide 5V (±5%) with about 500 mA (USB 2.0, ~4V with 900 mA for USB 3.0) per port. So if he's overloading the port or hub, yeah, there would be a problem.
  20. How about we just get back to complaining about the movie.
  21. I don't know if "became an independent entity" fits it right. If we look back on the Otona Anime interview, it doesn't seem like it was the military becoming stronger, but civilian bureaucracy becoming more influential, i.e., the civilian-side of things started to stick their hands into more cookie jars. It's more a game of politics than one unit trying to be more independent.
  22. If you are using an USB hub without power, yeah.
  23. The cheapest DDR3 is only slightly more expensive. Like $5-10 more. True. The speed of the SLI-setup would be the speed of the slowest card. So yes, a 8800GT and 9800GT can be used in a SLI-setup, but you'll be limited by the performance of the 8800GT.
  24. If you go with that AMD combo, you'll probably have to get some new RAM. DDR2 is relatively cheap so I won't worry about it much. Both of those combos have (or support) higher bus rates than your RAM so if you're worried about your MB and CPU slowing you down, why slow it down with slower RAM. Two gigs of DDR2-800 is only around $40-50.
  25. Excellent point. A good card will render video just fine and be able to handle all the textures, but you don't want such a slow CPU that it takes 5 minutes to load all the stuff into memory for the video card to render. myk, there is a questionnaire in the first post of this thread which might help you help us figure out a few things. I think the best thing to do is figure out how much you plan on spending. You have an AMD and an Intel CPU+motherboard combo which is great, but have you thought about RAM? Hard drives? Optical drives? Power supply? You said it's been 5 years since you built your last computer. Are your parts compatible with newer core components?
