  1. Considering this is a backdoor pilot...Grabbing my attention will be one thing. Keeping it, that's another.
  2. So in Academy/School mode, if you play a girl, you can go out on a date with Michel?
  3. As I mentioned in my last post to you, there are issues with later Macross animated productions, that do not involve HG, which make them very difficult to license. In other words....nothing new that we haven't heard about. Back to sleep....
  4. No. The trademarks show that they were filed and first used in 2001. Since that time, they have defended their trademark. All previous marks were abandoned. To go back ans file legal action for previous mark wouldn't be worth the trouble. Manga can say they did their part and diligence and found no conflicting mark when they licensed Macross Plus (and the same could be said with US Renditions when they licensed Macross II and which ever parties nabbed the film license for DYRL). They didn't need to go to HG for any legal blessing because their previous trademarks were abandoned and never renewed. That's HG's fault for not doing anything with their trademark. That opened the door for the DYRL film, Macross II, and Macross Plus. But when HG filed the trademark in 2001, the door closed. For HG to go after Manga for something they did when HG wasn't doing their jobs is ridiculous. HG has the trademarks now and have been defending it since. It's not worth the legal mess to deal with something that happened 15 years ago when they weren't doing anything about it. I'm not a lawyer but that's how I see it. And trust me when I say there are other issues with later Macross-animated productions that don't involve HG at all.
  5. Those productions were licensed by US Renditions and Manga Entertainment (who bought most of of US Renditions' catalog) prior to HG's trademark filed in 2001...2002. Going after Manga Entertainment would open a different can of worms involving only HG and Manga Entertainment. And simply put, it's not worth the trouble.
  6. Ahem...
  7. It helps to add a bit more info.... Unlike Caprica, it looks like SG:U will complete its second season when it comes back in Spring 2011 according to Fused Film. So only 10 episodes remain when it comes back to finish its second season.
  8. No, we're not doing this. We have the debate thread for this.
  9. Doncha know? They'll say anything to get mentioned on THIS site.
  10. Robot Wars the Movie? Without buzz saws, claws, flame throwers, and all that stuff?
  11. The wrap-around imaging screens used in the VF-19 and VF-17 was not adopted into the VF-22.
  12. Our long-standing "versus" policy is in regards to cross-universe "versus". Hence, we don't do "versus" threads here. Like "could a Hover tank take on a Gundam" or "My VFA-6H Alpha Fighter could kick your YF-19's ass" and that nonsense. It doesn't cover in-universe bickering. And your topic was closed for having a cryptic thread title as someone mentioned.
  13. There's a reason why I put in the line in bold.
  14. I won't take the Mayan Island myths/legends/folklore literally. That's why they're myths/legends. The Bird Human cutting off its own head seems a bit far fetched. But that's how the natives and legend view it. It's possible that it was a move by the Protoculture survey ship that came to this region of space to after they were attacked by insurrection forces. The survey ship didn't want the Bird Human to fall into terrorists hands and decided to make it unusable or whatever excuse you want to use, so they ejected control unit, or the "head", and abandoned it on the planet. And gee whiz, it's as if AFOS cut off its own head. At the same time, the "turtle shell" that landed and became the present-day Mayan Island could have been that same survey ship, before it was blow to pieces. Those islands may have been there already or been formed geologically at a later time. But because no one ventured out that way and the Protoculture ship just happened to be in that area, oh my, the Mayan Island was formed by them.
  15. Okay the idea behind this thread is simple, users tend to ask questions that are, for better words, either easy to find common knowledge or sound pretty funny. You don't want to look stupid and we don't want to have mod a bunch of little topics. Examples: "Whose that green haired lady?" "What happen to Rick hunter?" "Did Minmay kiss her brother?" "Is this video from this country a bootleg?" "What's with the Zentradi elf-ears?" "Is there an official answer to <insert story="" or="" production="" trivia="" here="">?" "Where can I find a copy of this <insert product="" here="">?" "When will we see <insert product="" here=""> come out?" "What are this things?"/"Where are these things?"/"Who are these things?" "What <insert show or episode> did <insert event or item> show up?" and other newbie or short questions like these post them here. Ground rules It's only for newbie-type and short question/answer type questions about Macross. When someone post a simple question here hopefully one the more experienced posters will tell the newbie the answer. It's Question & Answer-format only. Nothing more. Newbies tend to be lazy and ask questions about everything. If you can point the newbie to the source it's better than just telling them the answer straight. If you see a newbie question about Macross somewhere else direct them here and their other topic will be closed/deleted. Search is a great tool. 17. Anyways... Back to Macross R...
  18. Not to mention he misspelled Valkyrie.
  19. Ummmm....that's due to Minovsky particles. Minovsky particles screw with electronics like most forms of sensors and communication in MSs. So MSs have to rely on visual sensors (i.e. cameras and human peepers) to shoot at each other. This is also why then end up in close-quarter combat situations fighting with melee weapons like beam sabers.
  20. It's been mentioned and I'd like to remind us, but the summary does mention that NUNS and PMCs (in this case, SMS) are using the race to secretly test their VFs which is why something like the VF-19EF shows up in this race along with other various VFs. And one of the Dengeki Hobby scenes is a squad of VF-19EF engaging a Zentradi power armor. So I don't think this novel will be short on things blowing up....and I'm not talking about the male protagonist's VF which, as his bio notes, seems to malfunction just as he is about to win final round races.
  21. If you can't stick with the topic, LOCK.
  22. The VF-25 has active stealth so the need for a passive stealth silhouette isn't necessary. It would be nice, but it's not necessary for operation.
  23. Don't you know? Reading is a lost art at MW. But yeah, this is about a race like touring car racing. Except the cars are Valks. Not sure how terrorism got into this.
