Sounds to me that whoever is writing the code for the firmware didn't check thoroughly enough that it would keep the voltage to 1.3v. Either a mistake in the code spelling or it isn't applied properly I would imagine. You'd think after compiling it that they would have done extensive tests.

The problem is, if you close off all the places in the firmware where the voltage can be adjusted, you limit what can be done on the board, essentially crippling the product.

  2. Besides hardware and brand recognition, Asus is certainly dipping their toes in uncharted territory here. We'll see in June if the ROG Ally is a competitive to the SteamDeck. Yeah, the hardware looks impressive but yeah, Windows....But if anyone wants a portable gaming/mini PC, the Ally definitely looks better than the Ayaneo. It just lacks the library of Steam. 🤔

Last available news is that, like House of the Dragon and Lord of the Rings: the Rings of PowerAndor is moving ahead with production of its second season during the strike.

House of the Dragon S2 scripts were done before May 1. However, if they have to do reshoots, this will delay things if they need to rewrite dialog.
LotR: Rings of Power is moving forward with non-dialog shoots and with what they have already written. The EPs are also part of the writing team so they are not participating on any level of production. It sounds like they prepared for this eventuality so they prepped as much as they could. Again, same problem if they want to do reshoots.

Andor  is in the same boat as the other 2. They are continuing production with what they got. But it sounds like they are maybe just a little more behind the other 2 shows just due to scheduling so 🤷‍♂️

While shows can continue in some sense, the Directors and Producers union contracts expire on June 30th, 2023. Whatever is not done by then may come to a grinding halt in 2 months.

After facing criticism Gilroy has ceased all of his producing duties of Andor.

Need to clarify that this is due to the current writers’ strike.

He stated that he would cease all writing-related duties.  Got hit with criticism and then decided to cease all non-writing duties as well.

    Yeah...context.
Tony Gilroy is both Executive Producer (i.e. showrunner) and writer for this series. Due to the strike, productions have all but stopped worked (either in solidarity with the WGA or due work being unable to progress due to writing changes).

Jedi Survivor looks like a lot of fun, loved the first game, but I saw Digital Foundry's breakdown and yikes. For $70 they crap the bed on this release, another AAA game released before it was ready, day 1 buyers are practically beta testers. I'll buy when they patch it into decent running condition, and for their BS, when it's on a steep sale, I may even grab a second-hand physical copy from Gamestop, these devs need to learn this isn't acceptable.

I'm hearing it's playable on console. PC...yeah, wait for a few more patches. I know companies have deadlines (if they didn't nothing would get released), but would this game moving to a Fall release kill them?

I'm not an advocate for buying any games at launch, let alone pre-ordering, unless you enjoy being a beta tester. Especially these days.

Milking it. Just like that last season of STRANGER THINGS.

'Could just...I don't know...switch to a weekly release format like the other streaming platforms. Vol. 2 comes out exactly 5 weeks after Vol.1, or exactly when episode 5 would air if it was a weekly format. Come on Netflix, DO IT!

  7. I'm satisfied with this ending. It doesn't remove the stink from the first 2 seasons, but I'm walking away happy from this season. Unlike The Mandalorian S3. 😒 That show's third season was a disappointment.

    Picard Season 3: 👍

    However...

    Spoiler

I'm gonna share @Roy Focker sentiment about Titan-A being rechristened as Enterprise-G. That doesn't seem very befitting to either ship's legacy.

I also like to nod to Voyager's last episode. Or at least I hope that's a nod to Voyager's last episode. It's nice to know Adm. Janeway's sacrifice didn't leave the Borg unscathed.

  8. That felt.. rushed. Like really rushed.

The only thing that really resolved was

    Spoiler

    ..retaking Mandalore.

Also, the Darksaber being destroyed...So what was the point of it then?

Other than that, my summation of this season is: Disappointment. Most of the season was "meh". The rest regarding Mando & Grogu feels like it got pushed to next season along with hitting the reset button, i.e., moving the goal post for the 2 characters we're suppose to care about. If there was no Season 4, it would be fine, but since they are moving forward with Season 4, Season 3 feels like a let-down.

    Season 3: 👎

... in Star Fleet there's nobody between the ages of 25 and 50 years old. This grand plan of the changelings would doom them as well. If I'm not mistaken didn't they solve and make peace with this in season 2 of Picard? It was a really bad season but try working with what they gave you instead of pretending it didn't happen.

    Spoiler

Well, they were all being shot by the Lts and Ensigns, maybe crewmens too (can't forget the enlisted kids). You know, the cannon fodder. Red shirts? Yellow shirts? The Borg won't care much about the Changelings. Just another race to assimilate.

    On a side note...

    Spoiler

It won't be home without Majel Barrett doing the computer voice. Bless her for doing voiceover work before she passed. Oh and Alice Krige doing the Borg Queen again.

    And...

    Spoiler

I will have to agree with Worf with his sentiment. I'd feel much better going into the frying pan with E's armaments as opposed to D's.

  11. So the premise of Rey's movie is Rey rebuilding the Jedi? Are we going to see the galaxy at large as well with the rebuilding of the Republic? Is the villain someone named "Darth Talon", who was a secret apprentice of Darth Sidious? Oh just for kicks, let's say her real name is, let's say, "Mara Jade". At the end they fall in love and she takes on the name "Mara Jade Skywalker".

See where I'm going with this? Just to remind us all, Lucas' original idea for his sequel was we would see Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order. At the same time, we would parallel Leia rebuilding the Republic. The main villains would be Darth Maul and his apprentice, Darth Talon. The main group of baddies would be the criminal underworld, under the Crimson Dawn Syndicate that Darth Maul created. We would see the syndicate battling the Hutts, the Pykes, and even Imperial-remnants; consolidating all their enterprises and territory under one syndicate. Little bits of Heir to the Empire-trilogy, Jedi Academy, and some other elements. It's like those stories, but sticking in Kathleen Kennedy's characters. (Frankly the criminal element and Imperial-remnant feel like better villains, post-Empire, than the First Order does because it's more organic. The First Order was JJ's attempt to make an Empire and it fell flat. 🤮)

This is part of why I'm not enthusiastic with this premise for Rey. Instead of doing that from the get-go, they're now revisiting those elements. But with new characters 🤦‍♂️. Just like they did with that sequel trilogy.

  12. *Bookmarks show*

Seeing how The Mandalorian has been going, it may start good, but then the roller coaster starts going down. We'll see how this pans out on the long haul.

So, the Rebels crew is essentially replacing Luke, Han, and Leia in the Heir story? Not that they have a choice there.

Best to go with Filoni's characters at this point. Or spend money on bad deep-fakes that some Youtuber could do a better job at...

  13. This week's episode is pretty much part 1 or prologue to the season finale, assuming episodes 7 & 8 are the last episodes this season. At least the story is heading to the season finale. It was a good episode but since we are barreling toward the season finale, if things didn't pick up by now, I would have been very disappointed.

Also Ugnaught speech... "I have spoken.", I assume, translates to "PERIOD.", "NOW.", "FINAL ANSWER".

It's become a self-fulfilling belief. Their history is full (real or not) of being persecuted by Solids, so everything is done in defense. And when another race manages to hold them off or hurt them bad enough, then that is just more proof of how dangerous/evil the Solids are.

I agree with @Thom. The Founders have been and played the victim for so long, that thought pattern is practically their culture and, in turn, what drives them.
