  1. You’re probably more color-intensive than most men are. I know I’m not. I don’t really put much value on whether something is hot pink, warm pink, or whatever else kind of shade or gradient of pink it is. For me, pink is pink. In fact, it was only because of my wife did I realize that all these shades of pink had different names. And to answer your question, yes, I would most likely be fine with any of those color variations you mentioned for Max and Millia. Anyway, my point is it’s hard to say that majority of collectors put as much emphasis on these kinds of details if in the end more people still bought it anyway rather than those who didn’t because of things like the color shade or inaccurate panel lines. There are other more important details to be concerned with.
  2. I would suspect you're doing something wrong, but maybe if you could share a pic we can determine what's causing your issue.
  3. I’m not sure about this statement. Even in this board, there aren’t very many who are that particular with those smallest of details. Personally for me, if it looks good, then I’m perfectly fine with it. I am very much open to less screen accuracy if the final result is better looking IMO. A couple of recent examples are the Metal Build line and the Riobot line, who take creative liberties with the source material. Same is true for Fewture (aka ArtStorm). And while my dad was a pilot, I wanted to be a pilot, and I love airplanes, what got me into Macross wasn’t just the jets. It was that these jets transformed into robots. Just seeing the jets is boring, kinda like what happened to me in Delta where 90% of the time they never transformed out of fighter mode.
  4. They look like they’re dancing to me hahaha. Maybe this is after they made up.
  5. The bumper goes at the back of the hips. No parts forming. It is perfect transformation.
  6. My experience with Weijiang TF figures has always been tremendously positive. Their products are always superior to the originals in almost every way. Of course most of the credit still goes to HasTak for comig up with the original designs, but lately I get the idea to just wait for the Weijiang KOs instead of getting the originals...

Whoa, this means I’ll be having more than 1 HMR VF-4 in the collection if these get released. I honestly didn’t expect them to milk the mold.

I accidentally ordered 2 at AmiAmi due to the timeouts and delays.

I honestly don’t mind the chocolate color. I love chocolate.
  12. Yeah, I must've already forgotten how it is on the Yamato. I haven't transformed mine into battroid in years mainly because that mode looked so unattractive to me.
  13. Eeew, that knee hinge looks horrible I hope they just bent it at the wrong point. Seems like it's double-hinged.
  14. Ah, thanks for the explanation guys. Actually, my leg fins stay on pretty securely. I think I'd have to forcefully pull them off if I wanted to detach them. Hence I was pretty surprised when I read that others had their leg fins detach at the slightest touch. If it's a molding issue, I find it strange though if some copies would have a molding issue while others (like mine) don't. I always thought the molds used were the same, or maybe they used multiples and one of them was already showing some wear. If it's misaligned, then that's an assembly issue. But apparently even after popping the fin back on, it still doesn't stay on securely for the others (unless for some reason it's not being put back on in the correct way). So maybe it's a little bit of both? Definitely a quality issue in either case.
  15. Are the leg fins really damaged? Or was it just not assembled correctly? I didn’t have the issue on both my copies so I can’t picture what’s causing them to fall off easily for those with it.

I don’t know about you guys but this looks better than the Yamato/Arcadia version IMO. But what surprises me the most is all that tampo. That’s a lot especially at this scale.
  17. The double head laser 29’s (Alto, Fokker, Rod) didn’t come with hard versions of their lasers.
  18. Personally, I didn’t loosen it on the first one because I wanted to validate if there really is an issue with the hip joints. There’s also a part of me that doesn’t want to modify or alter stuff out of the box if it can be avoided. After confirming that it is indeed possible to move it safely without loosening the screws, I did it on the second one.
  19. I didn't loosen them on the first one, I just grabbed it at the rotation point and slowly wiggled it around to ease the tension. However on the second one, I decided to just loosen it a bit because I was too lazy to do the same thing as the first time. In the end, whether you loosen the screws or not is up to you. If you are experienced with how to handle such joints and/or patient enough, you can slowly and gently work it as it is. Just be aware of where you're handling it and how much pressure you are applying. But if you're not too confident or are just impatient, I recommend that you loosen it.
  20. So I guess I should consider myself lucky that both of my YF-19s don’t have any of the issues others are having? My head lasers are intact with no signs of stress, the arm cannon pegs in flush to the arm, the tailfins stay on secure and tight with no hint of it being loose. The only one that can probably say I experienced were the super tight hip joints. But I don’t really consider that a defect or issue. My only real complaint with this release is that I couldn’t preorder it at N-Y and had to go with Amiami and HLJ instead. That resulted in having to pay an extra $160 in import taxes...
  21. The irony is in my case is, that 30k yen price from NY is actually the better bargain than the 25k preorder I bought from HLJ. After shipping and import taxes, I would only spend 35k yen (30k yen + 5k yen UPS shipping) if I got that from NY. The one I got from HLJ cost me 39k yen (25k + 4k DHL shipping + 10k import tax).
  22. Thanks for sharing the video. It’s probably just me, but while I think it’s an improvement in all aspects from the Yamato v2 design, I was hoping the transformation was done more differently. It looks more like a Yamato v3 rather than Bandai’s own unique take on it. But I guess there are only so many ways to do the transformation with current tech and the v2 was already a pretty good design so they borrowed a lot from it.
  23. Mine stays in really secure and lines up correctly, just like my Advance. I didn’t even know there was an issue with the tailfin until someone reported it.
  24. Perhaps. But Bandai clearly has the more advanced engineering VS the Arcadia when it comes to the YF-19. To say otherwise would be foolish.
