  1. @Saburo Love your pics as always, but I think you need to redo this one. The wings are mistransformed. It looks like you forgot to push them in.
  2. NY has never done that. I think you are referring to MyKombini.
  3. Well based on this pic from jenius, the angle of the canards on the Bandai is more accurate (it’s the Advance, but it’s basically the same thing). On the other hand, the Arcadia version might be too “perky”. But I think neither got it right.
  4. The Advance packaging also has that plastic bubble insert over the styrofoam, so in that regard I think the plastic cover over the antenna is similar to that of the YF-19. However, I think is the major difference here is that in the Advance (and other Frontier valks), the plastic tray with the stand and other accessories are placed on top of the valk. That gives an extra layer of buffer in case pressure is placed on the top of the box since there’s a bit of additional space. For the YF-19, the order is reversed with the valk layer directly on top, with only the cardboard insert over it. I can imagine that if something was to place pressure at the center of the box, it has a greater chance of causing the plastic over the antenna to push down on it until it breaks.
  5. Broken head lasers are not a QC issue. It’s a shipping & handling issue and maybe a box design issue. I’m almost positive that these head lasers were fine when they left the factory and just got broken somewhere along the way.
  6. I feel that you’re doing something wrong here. There are clear positions for both high speed mode and battroid mode for the wings. The proper positions for the wing swing bars are all clearly detailed in the manual with diagrams. Checked your pic again and can see that you have the wings wrong in battroid. You didn’t push them in.
  7. I think your problem is that you didn’t extend the sliding back part all the way. There’s supposed to be a click when you reach the intended position. Once you do, the tab should fit in perfectly. BTW, you need to pull out the little shoulder flaps to complete the transformation.
  8. You can stow 2 reaction warheads with a single hard point with the Bandai DX too. The last page of the manual clearly shows that you should be using "Pylon B". Pylon B is packaged along with the plastic bag containing the extra hands and pilots.
  9. Oh wow. I thought broken head lasers were isolated to just 1-2 guys and was a shipping & handling issue. I still think it’s a shipping & handling issue because it’s hard for me to believe that the guys knowingly placed a broken head laser in the package along with the broken piece.
  10. Ouch, that’s even worse then. More expensive shipping plus customs taxes too. Sorry to hear that.
  11. Those additional shipping costs are cheap compared to the extra $80+ I had to pay for imports customs tax. All in all, I spent around $340 for it. Once I get around to having my 2nd one shipped from HLJ, I’m expecting the import tax to be $100 (due to their higher item and shipping cost). US folks have it easy not having to deal with import duties. I really wish I was able to PO these from NY instead...
  12. Yes, you can.
  13. Yes I know it is silly, but I kinda do like the look of the fold booster attached in battroid mode. Even cooler is that the figure has no problems holding it despite the weight.
  14. Glad that you’re finally getting the hang of it. Like what I said before, feels like most negative reviews are from people who’ve never handled a toy like this before. You have to be very delicate with it, be familiar with the tolerances, and know exactly how to transform it. Regarding the tail fins, I don’t have that issue. I was actually wondering about what people were complaining until you mentioned it was them falling off. Strange, I don’t think that was ever an issue even on the Advance.
  15. IMO no, unless you don’t have an Advance yet.
  16. Got mine in. No QC issues. I think kanjnrig was right in his summary of the Amazon reviews. Most people who rated it low seem to have little to no experience with these toys.
  17. I just use the instructions and I never had any rage-inducing problem transforming any of the Bandai/Yamato/Arcadia valks. But I will admit that the only one that really gave me trouble from the Bandai valks was the single step of pegging the lock mechanism on the Sv-262 for gerwalk mode, but that was mostly because I was scared to apply too much force rather than not knowing how to do it. @nightmareB4macross The pic you posted was for the Arcadia YF-19. But you are correct about the hip position for the Bandai YF-19.
  18. I hope Amiami ships mine tomorrow on a Saturday. It’s a holiday this Monday in Japan so I don’t want to wait till Tuesday for it to be shipped out.
  19. No, the booster doesn’t light up. That image of it lit up is from the anime. It’s just referencing what scene it’s from.
  20. Up to this day, I have been unable to open the front landing gear doors on my YF-30. It won’t budge and I don’t want to force such a thin piece of plastic
  21. Based on your pic, I'm guessing you're a fellow Filipino collector. Where'd you get it? Did you get it locally or from online? I get almost all of my stuff from online stores as the local ones rarely stock Macross items anymore
  22. Hope everyone passing up on this design means it will be easier for me to preorder it on Monday. I’m a sucker for Eva-01 toys, having owned several different iterations of it throughout the years. This design brings something new to the table. I’ve had my fill of the anime-accurate look.
