  1. You don't stick the stand into that hole when in soldier mode. There's another hole at the bottom of the hip section where the stand goes in. You have to use the included stand adapter (the small one).
  2. Actually what I don't understand is why the other companies weren't able to compress the legs more. I only own the Sentinel version, but I didn't notice anything particularly new or amazing in the mechanism to collapse the legs. It's all been done before. What was the limitation in the other toys?
  3. What's the purpose of the kneecaps being able to fold out upwards?
  4. Hi. I just wanted to say thanks again for your help and guidance here. I tried transforming it to armo-soldier mode just now to see if I could finally tilt those intakes. It was still a little scary because it felt like I would tear the entire shoulder assembly off, but your pics gave me the confidence to keep applying gentle pressure. Then I finally felt that click which let me know I had moved it into place. I can finally say I've completed the full transformation
  5. Can you explain in more detail how to tilt it? I've seen it in the instructions but when I try to tilt it, it doesn't seem to budge and I hear a lot of creaking plastic so I dare not force it. Do you have some pics of what it looks like before and after tilting? Thanks!
  6. Heh. I stop checking these forums regularly for around 2 weeks and seems that's all it took for the Focker type to be announced, made available for preorder, and completely miss the boat. Hopefully it's still possible to acquire one of these later down the road. Oddly enough, I don't feel that bummed by it.
  7. Looks like I saw it too early. It first showed up as Not Available but after I refreshed it less than a minute later it said Preorder available. It was 25,000 JPY and is still available as of now.
  8. Wow NY sold out already.
  9. How much force have you tried using so far? Normally I'd say you just need use more muscle power while holding it as close to the joint as possible. It's metal after all.
  10. How do you separate parts that have been superglued together?
  11. Thanks for the reply @Chronocidal Yes, I did get to read your previous comments about the stand so I know you weren't using them long term. But I think it's only the airbrakes themselves that are plastic in that area. The actual tail section feels like metal to me, so I'm a little more confident about its rigidity. But I really don't know if it will stand the test of time. I did see some other people talk about the stand itself (which is the same design as the Witty stand) breaking at the screw mounts over a long time, but I'm not sure if there were other factors involved there aside from just the weight of the plane. In any case, are there other any stands you can recommend for the F-14? I don't really like the flightpose type stands.
  12. Looking forward to seeing the actual product from those who ordered. Am really interested to see how the official weathering compares to my commission job.
  13. Sorry about the thread resurrection, but I recently got into 1/72 diecast aircraft and bought the Calibre Wings F-14 D Type. For those of you that also own one of these or a variant, I wanted to ask if you've tried leaving it on the included stand for extended periods of time (e.g. months) and if so, were there any issues? While it does seem sturdy enough, and the part of the tail the stand attaches to is metal, I'm just concerned that over time something might warp or bend because of how the weight is being distributed while on the stand.
  14. Well, I can't really say for sure. All I know is, he really tried to match the color with how it looked like in the anime. I don't know exactly how he did it. But all I can tell for sure is his work looks closer to the color in the anime than the upcoming premium finish version does. I'll try to get that picture done sometime next week. I had him do a little more retouching to the SV-51 to even out the scratch marks. Change to what paint scheme? I already like the current one, but I just wanted it to look closer to the anime and weathered.
  15. Finally got it yesterday. Here are some additional pictures in natural lighting. Stickers haven't been applied yet, but will probably have that done next week.
  16. Possible. He keeps telling me it looks much lighter in person. Well I will find out tomorrow once I get it.
  17. So a couple of weeks back, I showed the weathered SV-51 I had commissioned. Not too long after, I decided to have the same person do the same for my VF-0D. Here are some in progress pics, although it's pretty much done already. What do you guys think? I think it looks pretty good
  18. I don't know about you guys, but even if they release it as it looks now, I would still think it's a vast improvement. It already looks a lot more solid than Yamato's YF-21/22 ever was. Yes there may be additional tweaks that could improve it further, but for me I would take those as icing on the cake.
  19. Sorry if this is old news (please delete if this is a duplicate topic). But that is one big VF-1. 713mm long (28 inches) ttps://www.amiami.jp/top/detail/detail?gcode=TOY-RBT-5157&affid=fc&a8=h3s4_3t.TzW4XWO.YomWH-FA-.r_R.s97.1aMUq.JaFmlAsulAwbYAsbHvJAOCshJ3YWTAwi4RLQxs00000003017001
  20. It's all cool. I've actually started getting into the RC hobby myself lately, but only RC tanks in particular. The RC culture is very different from my usual toy collecting since in the RC hobby (at least from what I've seen), it's almost expected that people customize their stuff. MISB or stock models usually hold the lowest value. I could be wrong but that's what I've experienced so far in the last 3 months.
  21. Why'd you leave again? You used to have a massive collection. Then I remember you started talking more and more about model cars...
  22. The problems with the SV-51 are far more than just misassembled ankles. Some of its engineering is the same as the old Yamato (which needed improvement), while some are even a step back. The only new engineering on the Arcadia SV-51 which improves upon the Yamato are probably the nosecone and arms pegging in better because they have tabs instead of weak magnets. The folding canards and the openable VTOL intake cover in fighter aren't really needed as these weren't issues before IMO. I can't remember if the Yamato had extendable double jointed elbows, but this is an improvement if they didn't. Ankle articulation is horrible. Wings can still get floppy (they removed the locking tabs for no reason), the head doesn't position well unless you extend it making it look disjointed, tightness of the joints are very inconsistent (one of my shoulder joints is too tight while the other is too loose, same with the shoulder hinges and wings). I know I probably missed some stuff but on the whole the SV-51 was not a good release. And that's coming from me who was one of the few who got the right ankles. The weathering job I had done actually saved it in my eyes, because at least it looks good enough now that I can temporarily forget about most of these other issues (as long as I keep it in fighter mode forever).
  23. Hmm, you make good points. Alright, I think I'll go ahead and have him weather my existing 0D instead. He's currently working on my Weijiang OS SS Blackout so perhaps after that's done. On a different note, my floppy wing strangely tightened up after I rotated it all the way to the other side, then rotated it back. It's still not rock solid, but it is probably 2-3x tighter than it was earlier. I can actually flip it upside down (gently) without the wing angling down. I'm wondering if the pin is not perfectly round so some areas in the rotation are tighter than others. Now I'm hesitant to transform it even again because I might end up loosening the wing back up.
