  1. Now it makes sense. I was wondering why they suddenly felt the need to edit out the stabbing of someone. They've shown it plenty of times before. Though at this point not sure why they felt Ventress kissing her victim needed to be removed.
  2. I agree, though I wish they would stop with Obi Wan and Grievous dueling. I mean in Revenge of the Sith Grievous tells Obi Wan, "You fool, I have been trained in your Jedi arts by Count Dooku." At this point when the release Sith on Bluray, they might as well have Obi Wan respond with something like "yeah, no duh, we've fought like 12 times." With Shaak Ti there, it would have been great to see her go up against Grievous. Great having Ventress back, her seductress banter with Grievous was great!
  3. Reminder: Season 3 starts tonight with two episodes. Episode 301: Clone Cadets Episode 302: Arc Troopers
  4. While I don't know many Japanese performers, I easily rate her above all of the American ones. Especially today's "pop" artists. The only one that comes close in my view in singing ability is Christina Aguilera... maybe, and even then I like the sound of May'n's voice a lot more. In talking about her non Macross stuff, I had forgotten to mention Glorious Heart. I rarely give this song much of a chance when I listen to her cd to move onto her faster paced music, but her concert of this song had me checking this one out again. I think if I was introducing her music to friends and was showing them this concert, I would definitely include her performance of Glorious Heart which was beyond amazing. Tochiro, I assume (hopefully correctly) that you understand Japanese. If so, can you tell me what she said at the end in what seemed like a very heartfelt goodbye to the crowd. Even though I didn't understand the actual words being said, the emotion she displayed as she spoke to her fans had me damn near fighting back the tears.
  5. What I meant by new songs was all of them from the last movie (Universal Bunny, Pink Monsoon, etc), and whatever will be released by the time this concert plays for the 2nd movie. I bet at least one trailer will be out by then featuring a new Ranka or Sheryl song. I'm sure old favorites would show up as well, but there is plenty of new music for them to work with. Plus the 2008 Budokan concert didn't have some of the best background music like The Target, Tally-Ho, or Vajra theme. Songs I would love to hear a full orchestra play. As for the 15th anniversary, 25th anniversary, and the crossover concerts go, I really don't know the circumstances, or sadly who all was involved. But it seems to me that both May'n and Megumi along with Macross Frontier are riding high right now. The concerts are sure to be quick sell outs, and the executives in charge of this all will undoubtably want to capitalize on what could be strong bluray sells for them. But I am also stuck in Texas, so I may not have an accurate view of what is truly going on in Japan. In the end though, I bet they are at least considering a bluray release.
  6. I just received this on Friday after ordering it from CD Japan recently. Watched it over the weekend on the big screen with the surround sound, and wow was that incredible! Ever since I first heard May'n sing, I felt like she has one of the best voices I have ever heard, however after watching this concert, I now think she has the best voice I have heard. Like ATLMYK said, May'n live sounds even better than her cds. I enjoyed her Styles album but not as much as her Frontier work, but damn those Style's songs rocked the house. Especially H@e me? H@e you! and Standing Bird. Kimi Shini Tamou Koto Nakare is quickly becoming one of my favorite songs of hers, and this was the best it has sounded. The only complaint I would have, if you can call it that, is I think I liked Diamond Crevasse better in the 2008 Frontier Concert, and 2009 Animelo more. Perhaps by the time DC was sung, my expectations were through the roof, and while it was incredible, I felt it was a step back from the other two. Probably just a different sound from the band. But I will rewatch it again (probably many times) and see which I truly like more. Anyways, if you can stomach the cost for the bluray, I highly recommend!
  7. Why do you say that? They released the Frontier Budokan concert they did in 2008 on bluray. This one will be with all new songs from both girls, and with Macross Frontier still going strong I would think that a bluray release of at least one of those concerts is going to happen.
  8. You can officially list me as jealous. I have to move to Japan, though by the time I got out there, the Macross era might be over... at least Frontier's era. Seriously though, that all sounded incredible, especially with most of the actors on stage like that.
  9. Monsters kind of looks like this year's District 9.
  10. Not Macross, but a new May'n song for the upcoming movie The Incite Mill. When the cell phone comes up, click on the button, then on the next screen, click on the first "New" in the blue section on the left. Her song kicks in about 2/3 of the way into the trailer. http://wwws.warnerbros.co.jp/incitemill/ EDIT: Found a less complicated trailer on youtube:
  11. ^ That made me laugh out loud for real! Good way to start my three day weekend!
  12. So you couldn't ask if she had a boyfriend or anything like that? Such a shame.
  13. I don't know if it is what you are thinking of, but she does the opening theme for a recent anime, Ookami-san, or something like that. Here is the video:
  14. ^ Frontier Marathon? I'm in. I agree that a live action Robotech is all but dead. Plus I am sure it has been mentioned before, but there has to be some legal issues they will have to dance around, on top of what I would imagine would be a monsterous budget to even pull this off. To even effectively tell the Macross side of the story they would need to make it a trilogy at the very least. I guess they could cop-out and just jump in on the New Generation storyline, but then that would probably turn out as bad as Battlefield Earth. As you stated, Cowboy Bebop could translate well. I somewhat view the show Burn Notice as being very similar as if it is modern day, down to Earth version. In fact I think Burn Notice could do very well to follow Cowboy Bebop's ending.
  15. ^ The first Austin Powers film was the same way. Turned out that series has done quite well financially.
  16. It would definitely be an interesting and off the wall change. However I seriously doubt he would retcon the story any where near that much, even if it was just for The Clone Wars series and never meant to be canon. As for Anakin, there wasn't anything in season 1 that I can think of showing a darker Anakin, and not much in season 2, but then again Lucas wanted to show the hero Anakin who was a good friend to Obi Wan, something he wasn't able to show as much in Attack of the Clones or Revenge of the Sith (outside of the first half). In season 2 though, Anakin did hit, then force choke Poggle for information without the other Jedi knowing, and after they failed to get Poggle to talk. Showed jealousy when Padme was with that other Senator. Showed excessive worry when he feared Ahsoka's death, even Luminara had to calm him some. Stabbed the one Mandalorian guy in the back when he was going to blow up the ship. - The act was totally justified, but not the Jedi way. Anakin and Ahsoka keeping a kill count, while most were droids, there were Geonosians there as well. Plus his teachings are rubbing off on Ahsoka, as evident with her reaction to one whole stole her lightsaber. I think all in all, they are just looking to take their time with building up dark moments with him. Let him be the hero that the Republic saw him as during the Clone Wars, which will make his fall all the more tragic.
  17. ^ Perhaps they will re-edit back in the scene where Grievous kills Shaak Ti in front of Anakin and Obi Wan, however replace Shaak Ti with Ahsoka.
  18. Glad to see Ventress return, after taking all of season 2 off. The Sith turning on her could have some really cool storyline possibilities. I don't think they will kill off Ahsoka till closer to the end of the series. She is a popular character right now, and really the only major character (besides Rex) that is not seen in any of the movies. Take her away and we know the fates of everyone else, so for some there may not be as much of a reason to watch. Keep her around and either have Ventress or Bane kill her, and Anakin snaps then kills them, or give her an honorable sacrificial death. Done the right way, it could have the same impact as Charlie's death on LOST.
  19. I went to Star Wars in Concert, and all of the Yoda scenes from The Phantom Menace had a CGI version in place of that ugly puppet they originally had.
  20. Yeah. That is another thing with that scene, Han gets up close and personal with Jabba, since that scene was originally just a fat guy. Then Jabba intead became that rosie odonnell-esque large slug, Han standing that close just looks really odd. In Return of the Jedi he was a feared, vile, and ruthless gangster that demanded the utmost respect of anyone in his presence. As evident in all scenes he was in that movie. In A New Hope he was practically ridiculed and embarrassed. Personally I wouldn't mind he being removed from The Phantom Menace as well, but that wasn't an "added" scene so I don't know how much Lucas Films would go for that.
  21. Come to think of it, besides removing the Greedo shooting first, I think Han meeting Jabba in A New Hope is completely pointless and actually weakens Jabba's reputation as a ruthless and vile gangster.
  22. Like others have said, in a heart beat. Especially for Frontier. I'm working enough overtime lately, I'd be willing to chip in that extra income for subtitled Macross Frontier on bluray.
  23. I'm in. Though not sure why they can't simply remove Greedo's shot and keep it with Solo shooting first. Also judging from Star Wars in Concert, I think they will be replacing all the puppet Yoda scenes from The Phantom Menace with a CGI Yoda. I think that is change that is much needed as the puppet in The Phantom Menace looked deranged.
  24. I know you stated in other topics that you weren't sure where May'n's career may be headed with her playing in smaller venues, but it looks like for this she is getting top billing at this event. At least from what I can tell, first picture, one of the larger ones at that. Plus she is the only one with a video clip (an interview I think) at the bottom right. Perhaps they are expecting some big things from her with the second movie?
  25. I really enjoy those three songs as well. I can't wait to see what they have in store music wise for the next movie. I'm guessing Ranka will have more songs as well.
