  1. SDFM: Minmay - my first animated crush... Sure it was from that other version, but still. Mac 7: Mylene Jenius - Never seen Macross 7, so just chose her. Macross II/Plus: Myung Fang Lone Macross Zero: Sara Nome Macross Frontier: Sheryl Nome!!! My number 1 pick.
  2. I agree mostly. A ton of wasted potential in this trilogy. Too many silly uncharacteristic elements. I really liked the opening episode, but these next two just left me a little irritated. Though the action elements of the second episode was still pretty damn good. Perhaps when I see them all back to back to back on bluray it will all come together nicely. I don't like Anakin's turn or reasons for it. "I have to turn to the darkside, to prevent myself from turning to the darkside..." Wait, what!?!? Though as you said Mog, I liked it that he wasn't outright evil. It does make me wonder if Qui Gon's ghost really was the son, due to what he told Anakin in this episode. It would have been great to see Ahsoka's potential fate being revealed in that flash forward vision Anakin had. That would have people debating her fate for sure! Speaking of Ahsoka, why was she fixing the ship? They have the mechanical genuis in Anakin standing right there. With Ahsoka there for this trilogy, I wish she remembered her darkside fall, I think it would have added a lot to her character to have to reflect on that. Especially if she starts to feel that being Anakin's apprentice may be taking her down that path later in the series. Lately it feels like Anakin and Obi Wan have become "jobbers". First Savage Opress practically owned them in each confrontation, now the son just tosses them around like they have no force powers at all. What happened to the "Chosen One" from the first episode, dominating both the Son and the Daughter at the same time? Lastly, wasn't it last week's episode that the son was attempting to kill the father? First with force lightning, then with the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda? Then this week the father decides to kill himself, and the son is very upset, then loses his power. Did he know all along that he would lose his power if the father dies? It seemed like he did. I don't know, I may just chalk up the trilogy as a dream, nothing more. It gives the indication that it was just that, so...
  3. ATLMYK, when you give Macross Frontier's concert a 6-ish, are you talking about just May'n's performance or the whole show in general? I agree that Big Waaaaave!!! is easily the best to date for her, but personally find the Macross Frontier Final to be fantastic as well. But then again, I am basing that on the entire show. Don't get me wrong, I liked May'n Act too, but perhaps it was the scale and all of the bells and whistles, but I felt the Frontier show was better.
  4. The Episode that can make or break this trilogy: Episode 317: Ghosts of Mortis Synopsis: The Jedi remain stranded on Mortis, and the Son aligned with the dark side of the Force renews his efforts to convert Anakin as the Jedi prepare for a decisive confrontation.
  5. I was hoping someone here would review the movie... and kinda expected it to be you, Tochiro. I was interested in checking this out if it came out on bluray, but since my japanese is limited to what I have picked up watching Anime and Godzilla films, I felt there would be a ton of stuff I miss out on when there wasn't much going on but talking. Still though, I am a huge fan of hers, and what you said about the movie was pretty interesting. Also from what you described about the security, jeez, they probably spent more on her security for the event than they made on the movie that day. But it was pretty awesome that she showed up. A friend of mine said at his "premier" in Ikebukuro, she sang Phonic Nation as well for them. I guess she didn't at your premier?
  6. Yeah, I kinda with you guys on this episode. Too much left unanswered. Plus how powerful is this family? I mean, this week the darksider was knocking everyone around with ease, however last week, Anakin was overpowering both he and his sister at the same time. The father just wants them to get back to the ship and leave so the son can't use it to fly away... isn't he aware the son has like a 3 minute head start and is flying? I took Ahsoka's turn to being poisoned, essentially. To me it was pretty cool seeing her saying things that perhaps she thinks of when she is training under Anakin. Like not liking being called "snips". I do wish she had remembered what she had done though. I didn't like her awakening and being unaware of what she did. Keith, as for your prediction, next week's episode looks like it could really kick ass. But at what cost to Episode III? They would almost have to lose their memory, or it was all a dream or something like that. Anyways, the episode comes on in like 10 minutes... I am definitely going to have to see that again. Maybe I missed something, though may end up just realizing how little Obi Wan actually does.
  7. Episode 316: Altar of Mortis Synopsis: Before the Jedi can leave Mortis, the Son takes Ahsoka captive in an attempt to entice Anakin into joining him to use their combined strength to overpower his Father and Sister. Meanwhile, the Father attempts to stave off a disastrous showdown between his children and maintain the Force's increasingly precarious balance on the planet.
  8. When I read the review of the episode on EW.com, they stated that it was Starkiller from The Force Unleashed, Sam Witwer that voiced the darkside "Son" in this episode. Thought I would point out that cool bit of trivia for those (like me) that didn't know.
  9. I'm with you guys on this episode. My favorite of the season, and one of my favorites of the series. In 20 minutes the episode will reply on Cartoon Network here in Texas. I am going to sit down with some coffee and enjoy that episode again.
  10. Episode 315: Overlords Synopsis: A mysterious force draws Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka to a distant planet, and its inhabitants -- a family of exceptionally powerful Force-wielders -- in an attempt to determine whether Anakin is truly the Chosen One.
  11. No, but in the show, they (the seperatists)aren't getting many victories at all. Even when they do well, like in Landing at Point Rain or ARC troopers, they lose that the end. They need more victories that basically forces the Senate to continue to grant more powers to the Chancellor. I mean, the Seperatists have to be a very credible threat, that endangers the lives of the citizens of the Republic. Otherwise there isn't much need for the Chancellor to get more and more power if the Seperatists are constantly losing ground and retreating. I agree with most of this, but he has a massive clone army at his command and they are continuing to make more. He needs this war to eliminate as many Jedi as they can. Droids while weak and easy to destroy, can be overwhelming in many numbers. If a group of Jedi are on a cruiser that is destroyed by seperatists ships that is another few to fall. Order 66 does catch them off guard, but the less there is the less likely there will be survivors of it. And there is that too. One issue with constant "good guy" victories is it just makes it seem like an old saturday morning cartoon. The villians are defeated again. Grievous is becoming like a scooby doo villian... "I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling Jedi." The writers need to watch some SDF Macross or Macross Frontier and discover what good it does in shows when the Antagonists get major victories.
  12. I agree about Maul. Darth Maul alive in anyway just isn't going to work for me. A ghost Maul perhaps, with proper explanation. As for the Clone Wars, I think it went on as long as Palpatine needed it to, to gain power and thin out the Jedi ranks. He got it to a point where he felt confident he could turn Anakin and in one quick strike wipe out the remaining Jedi. What we need to see in this show is, Papaltine ordering Republic assaults on different locations and such, then Darth Sidious appearing to Grievous stating his intelligence reports indicate Repulic forces massing in that location. Thus giving Grievous the needed heads up to launch a massive counterstrike wiping out the Republic forces and the large number of Jedi Generals there. Not only are the Seperatists in need of some major victories, the war itself needs to be costly to the Jedi order. Right now I can only recall seeing like 5 Jedi killed on screen. 1. Grievous kills the newly appointed Jedi Knight in his home 2. Cad Bane tortures one to death 3. Ima Guna Di (creative name) is killed on Ryloth buying time for the residents of that area to evacuate. 4-5. Savage Opress kills two taking the temple. Am I missing any? I would love to see Grievous kill some more, Dooku to kill a coucil member or two, plus several die off in the war.
  13. I thought it was five seasons or roughly 100 episodes. But if the show continues to be Cartoon Network's biggest success, it could go on longer. They'll just use the MASH excuse. 3 year war, 11 seasons.
  14. This second half of this season just gets more and more awesome. When they were saying "secrets revealed" early in the season, I just assumed it was there way of showing all of those prequel episodes and show what happened prior to some season 1 & 2 episodes. But now that has a hell of a lot more meaning, like Lucas really wants to explain the force and the origin of force users.
  15. I wouldn't think so. I mean, Qui Gon Jin died with a lightsaber through the gut. Darth Maul was cut in half and fell who knows how far? Thousands of feet, perhaps a lot more. What are they going to say, he grabbed his lightsaber, and fused his body back together? Also, this is like the second episode in which they talked up Darth Maul as if he was one badass Sith Lord. I guess I need to watch the Phantom Menace again, I at this point view him no more powerful than Ventress... hell after last night's episode, I would rank him under Ventress.
  16. ^ I agree, Qui Gon asks Obi Wan if he has been training the boy as he asked. So this is probably something like the vision Luke had on Dagobah. Last night's episode was great, the duels were mostly amazing. I just hope that Darth Maul is in no way shape or form actually alive. Seriously, that will be worse than endless political episodes. At least in my opinion.
  17. Episode 314: Witches of the Mist Synopsis: Anakin and Obi-Wan, sent to track down the mysterious figure behind the deaths of several Jedi, soon find themselves on the trail of the monstrous apprentice that Ventress has created: Savage Opress. However, Dooku and Ventress also discover that this new apprentice has a will of his own...
  18. Liam Neeson to return to voice Qui-Gon Jin in the Clone Wars: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/20/liam-neeson-star-wars-clone-wars-exclusive/
  19. It is episodes like this one that make me wish this show was an hour long instead of 30 minutes. The episode was good and exciting, but also felt very rushed. Especially the magic transformation scene, and the ending with Savage landing on Devaron and wiping everyone out in like a minute. It was funny seeing him get shot, and looking down at the end result as if a humming bird had collided with his chest and it died on impact. I am torn on Savage right now and how he became so powerful. I mean if the Nightsisters can make instant Jedi killers out of decent warriors, why not breed an army of warriors and take them all to the Nightsisters? Then drop of said army on the Jedi Temple door step. Even if they lose, chances are the Jedi ranks will be thinned out considerably. However on the flip side, I am glad they didn't just choose someone from Darth Maul's species out of the blue, and with a couple of weeks of training with Darth Tyranus, he was instantly better and more powerful than many Jedi as well. (Speaking of Maul, could they name drop that name more often in one episode? I was never under the impression he was that powerful to begin with. Just a good warrior, but someone who would get owned by any Jedi/Sith with more than sufficient lightsaber or force abilities.) Anyways, this of course is where an extra 30 minutes could have come in to play. They could really elaborate on what it is the Nightsisters did to Savage, and how often, if ever again, they could do it. Or maybe something like that is why they needed the absolute strongest male out of their warriors in order for the enchanting to produce the powerhouse warrior they did. I loved Tyranus's speech at the end and how he plans on overthrowing Sidious. I assume that he had similar plans with Ventress. Let's just hope he doesn't loose his head over it... Sorry I had to.
  20. Episode 313: Monster Synopsis: When Count Dooku calls upon the Nightsisters seeking a replacement for Ventress, she and her kin seize the opportunity to exact revenge. Ventress visits the far side of Dathomir and the males of the planet seeking the most brutal and powerful warrior among them. Through their witchcraft, the Nightsisters transform Savage Opress into a monstrous killer designed to turn on his new master.
  21. I Loved seeing Ventress's past! Damn near the entire episode rocked! Heck the only thing I had an issue with was Ventress at one point had Anakin and Obi Wan beaten at the same time. Especially with Dooku, I mean Darth Tyranus (Loved that they finally used his sith name) defeating Ventress and the two most powerful nightsisters, all the while mostly blinded and senses dulled. If episodes like this are what is to come for the remainder of the season, I am willing to forgive and forget most of the first half and get this on bluray when it comes out.
  22. ^ Earlier time tonight too. 8:30/7:30 CST Episode 312: Nightsisters Synopsis: Darth Sidious, troubled by Ventress's growing prowess with the dark side of the Force, commands Count Dooku to eliminate her. When Ventress survives Dooku's assassination attempt, the jilted former apprentice vows to take revenge, enlisting her kinswomen -- the Nightsisters of Dathomir -- in her scheme
  23. He did say whatever he needed to say to get things his way. He is a politician afterall. However while I agree somewhat here, I do think he had the ability to prolong life. I think that the force lightning being reflected back at him revealed his true age and image. It didn't actually burn him. I mean, Luke was getting lit up like like a firecracker in Jedi, and didn't show any scarring. Nor did Mace when he was getting lit up during the "Power" speech. However, Palpatine's image was changing pretty quickly. One thing about the prequels, practically everything that happened, Palpatine wanted to happen, except Vader's defeat on Mustafar. From what I took of that, Palpatine was taking the next step in taking over the senate, making it appear as if a Jedi assassination attempt left him scarred, when in reality he did it himself.
  24. Yeah, I hear you. It's cool seeing Anakin being so close to R2 in the Clone Wars series. Even risking his life or his team to save R2. That really was his droid since Attack of the Clones. He often treats R2 like his best friend or like a great dog, that will stay by your side, relying on him for a lot. If they keep this up, it may actually make the trench run scene in A New Hope harder to watch when he as Vader, blows away R2.
  25. Hell Yeah! I would be all about a second series taking place after landing on the Vajra home world. Otherwise you're right, from the trailers, and judging by the events of the first film basically covering the first 7 or so episodes (outside of the end which was like episode 20) there is no way they can combine the rest of the story into one movie. At least not very efficiently. Though the title of the second film kind of gives off a "The End" type of vibe.
