I've never dealt with this site before, but they do have the Mac figures in stock. $30 per case of 5. $6 for Hikaru. Shipping's $7 for non-California residents. Why do I get the feeling that after skipping both VE and ML's stock, I'll suddenly want the figures and won't be able to get them?

Very true. But 1/48 FAST packs vs. a CF chunky? The chunky has no chance.

I went ahead and placed a large order I had been holding back on, an extra $18 isn't going to break me. And like you said, chunky monkeys can be messed around with almost infinitely without worry of damage. I certainly wouldn't buy one for $50+ though.

Nope, not kidding. With a black faceshield that helmet would be great. Aside from your personal color scheme preferences, why would the helmet repel chicks? Considering I barely know what anime series it originates from, it's unlikely that any "hot chicks" would either.

$25 1/55's? 8000 yen 1/48's? Sometimes I wonder why I haven't moved yet.

I'm more than willing to import the FIX figuration series, but are there any plans for a domestic (USA) release? I'd rather not pay double for figures that will be available within the year at my local TRU; but I need me some 0017 Zetas.

I think the key here is that it's not as popular as Gundam. To compete with Yamato and their wide array of Macross offerings, Bandai would have to devote a lot of time and money towards design and production of new toys. To do so when there are far more profitable lines is unreasonable. Yamato's 1/48 would be very hard for Bandai to top.

I wouldn't suggest it. I own the Sundowners version of that F-14 and wish I had my $20 back. Unpainted pilots, no landing gear, non-removable missles, an apparent lack of many panel lines, non-weathered decals and some misapplied paint apps. I need a 1/48 F-14 with the quality and detail of the Bulky Lee.

I'm quoting you here again because the VF-1's are not the characters of the series. I want to make sure you understand that, because this is vital for understanding why repainted Valkyries are not the same as repainted Transformers. And again, this is an entirely different point of view. Stormtroopers, Cobra Vipers, CF's... they all are faceless because their characterization is unimportant. They exist to show the size of the army. In contrast, and aside from Beast Machines, Transformers have never had faceless drones. There are no fleets of Transformers. The armies are made of very unique individuals. What we're looking at with Armada and Energon (Archer has said every Autobot toy will be repainted in Energon...) is a line composed of very specific individual characters who, to procure more profits without effort, are being repainted. So we have: Hotshot x2 Cyclonus x2 Smokescreen x2 Demolishor x2 Instead of: Hotshot and Hot Rod Cyclonus and Springer Smokescreen and Hoist Demolishor and Bludgeon I'm not arguing business practices here; obviously Hasbro stands to make a lot of money from the sale of toys that they don't have to put time and money into designing and tooling. But, money is the only reason they are doing so. Again, Transformer armies are made up of unique individuals. So to repaint these individuals and sell them as the same individuals is contrite. Skywarp, Cliffjumper etc. are acceptable because they are different, unique characters. But I can't imagine being a completist of Armada and owning two of every toy simply because of new paint apps.

VF-1's are aircraft, they're mindless machines and are meant to exist as a fleet. The characterization for the series lies in the pilots themselves who are very individual. With Transformers the robots are the individuals, and to have them repainted and powered up is pointless.

I'd buy one, but only for around $40-50. My current 1/48 F-14 cost $17 at Walmart and has a significant amount of diecast. However, the missles are static, there is no landing gear, and the detailing looks pretty bad. I could definitely use a high grade 1/48 to replace it.

I'm sure Don realizes that the post-movie characters already had Cybertronian modes. However, as an artist with his own unique vision, it's well within his bounds to alter those modes to create a more fluid (i.e. consistent design) universe. It can all be explained away by remembering that millions of years elapsed from the crash of the Ark to the coming of Unicron. It's not unlikely that those on Cybertron would have been rebuilt or upgraded had they so chosen during the many years of fighting.

I disagree wholeheartedly. The GC controller is by far the worst setup for a fighter ever. Even the easiest of combos take far too much concentration on button timing.
