Zonbiasu (Zombie Ass: The Toilet of the Dead)
GU-11 replied to Noriko Takaya's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
WTF is this sh!t? Some sort of softporn horror B-movie for AV actresses to springboard onto more mainstream careers? -
Tamiya putty and epoxy is popular among gunpla modelers who use it to fill in seams on certain parts. They're designed for use on resin kits, too. Here are a few links to the items: http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87053 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87095 http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM87097 The last one is a polyester putty, which seems to be the most suitable one for the job, as it mentions "repairs" as one of its intended uses. Hope this helps.

Hey, Myk. However you might choose to fix it, you will have to repaint the hair, or at least touch up the sealed crack with the closest brown color. I don't recommend "cement" [the watery type that melts plastic to bond model kit parts], as you'll have to deal with the prospect of damaging the hair even further--it could melt the surrounding plastic and you'll have to sand off the gobs of plastic that form around the seams. Maybe try epoxy or putty to fill/seal the crack and hope it doesn't get worse. Since it's a statue and you're not likely to move it around, epoxy or putty should be good enough for the job. To be honest, I'm no expert when it comes to repairing these things, and my recommendations come from tips gleaned off of modeling forums. Maybe some more experienced modelers can help you here. EDITED FOR TYPOS.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
GU-11 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, almost everything is kept identical to the game, except for minute details like the omitted dialogue between Nanako and the worker at the gas station etc. One major reason for me to watch it is that it's got Japanese voice acting; the game was in English, so it's nice to see how it sounds in Japanese, as well as some of the things that were changed [Morooka's nickname is Moroki in JP, but King Moron in EN]. I'll keep watching and see what other changes I might find. They did change a major part of the plot in that Tales of the Abyss anime, so I wonder if Persona 4 will do the same. It's very character-driven and IMHO the least dark of the Persona games, which of course carries over to the anime. People still die and stuff, but it's not quite as apocalyptic as Nocturne. The plot plays out like a mystery, and the characters form a sort of detective team to solve the mysterious deaths that have been happening in town. Just think of it as Atlus' version of Scooby Doo. It even comes with its own pet animal...sort of. I totally recommend either watching the anime or playing the game. If you want to know more.... -
All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
GU-11 replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Actually, it's the other way around. I saw the Armored Core V review, and later read Archer's post that mentioned AC Revelations. Might have been the morning drowsiness, but I didn't notice the difference, and took AC to mean Armored Core. No one play Armored Core for the plot? Never knew that; I've never played the game before, just built a couple of Kotobukiya model kits and was curious about the game itself. The reason I thought For Answer was Japan exclusive was because I didn't notice IGN releasing a review for it [damn them and their new review list arrangement]. In that case, I'll pass on this. Being a strictly offline player, if the single player missions are bad, it's of no use to me. Well, so much for my first Armored Core game. I guess I'll save the cash for the Zone of the Enders HD collection, then.- 6876 replies

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
GU-11 replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So if a completely new player like me were to just jump into Armored Core V, would it be too much of a learning curve, like the IGN review said? Would I know that's the story about? I know that For Answer was a reboot [didn't get the game because it was only released in Japan], but the IGN review didn't mention much about the plot. The review also mention that "the game can be dry if you only play offline," and I'm a strictly offline player. Would this game be a total waste of my money?- 6876 replies

Why do I feel like I totally misinterpreted AC as in Assassin's Creed for Armored Core? Oh wait...AC REVELATIONS.... D'oh! LOL! That just made my day.- 6876 replies

Okay, this is starting to scare me a little. First it's DLC, and now no used games. How's the game play? I've built a couple of AC figs in the past, and the cool designs made me want to try one of the AC games. Thing is, I read the review at IGN, and it says the game's got a hell of a learning curve that might put off new players. I don't want to be stuck with a game I can't complete because it's too hard. Also, I've obviously never played the previous games, and am not sure if I can follow the story. The IGN review also states that the game's "rather dry if you don't play online," whatever that means. I'm pretty much an offline kind of player, so would that mean the game's a waste of money for me?- 6876 replies

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
GU-11 replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Just caught the first episode of Persona 4, the Animation. Follows the game almost to a tee. Not sure why I bother, since I've played the game numerous times and know everything that happens. I guess it's just nice watching the characters and plot without worrying about leveling up and all. -
Kind of predictable, but it looks like Lion-O's finally going to get his sh!t together. LOL, Cheetara just can't help flirting even in Lion-O's dream world. IMO, Tygra seems to make much better decisions as de facto Lord of the Thundercats, using deception to help them free themselves. BTW, is it just me or does Wily-Kit sound more like a little boy than a girl?

I hate to admit it, but I never finished Nocturne. The boss battles were a harrowing experience, and I barely got through using walkthroughs. I managed to complete over two thirds of the game mostly because of the demon collection system was really fun, but then forgot about it after getting a new game. As for Persona 4, it's rather "light" compared to the others. There's still a lot of dark elements, but the mood is brightened up a lot due to the cast of characters, quite a few of which are comic relief types. The difficulty is also less punishing than previous games, IMO.- 6876 replies

Speaking of Persona, I'm going through a third replay of Persona 4. Game play's not as addictive as Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne's pokemon-style demon collection, but the characterization is deep, and you just can't help but give a damn about what happens to them.- 6876 replies

Currently eying the Takara versions of PRID Soundwave and Vehicon. Personally, these are the only two PRID figs worth getting, and Soundwave's minicon [or whatever they're called here] looks cool. Thankfully, I won't have to use any of those dinky stickers since Soundwave's CG render doesn't really have any noticeable paint apps, aside from the purple "energon lines", which I think are pre-painted.- 17112 replies

170 USD for 12cm of plastic?! And it doesn't even transform. My local hobby store has both up for pre order, but there's no way I'm paying that much for so little. The price is just ridiculous.

I was hoping we'd see a more mature and determined Lion-O after Cheetara and Tigra hooked up, People usually sober up and refocus on their career after failing in the love department. Kept thinking he'd move out on his own and tough it out rather than watch Tigra and Cheetara smooching in front of him. Would have respected him if he did that. And yeah, his whining to Cheetara was lame.

Are the feet articulated? I can't tell from the pics. They look static, but in order to transform into jet mode, they should be able to swivel around and be stowed on the shins. And I can't believe they didn't paint the side covers on his hips! The face sculpt is an improvement, although I agree that the silver's too dark. Hope there's a face-flip gimmick they didn't/forgot to show on the pics.- 17112 replies
