Yeah I saw these leaked about a week ago, and it's just not really doing it for me either. I get what they're going for, before the design reveal and leak, Toho described pretty well what he'd look like, and this is definitely what they described. They wanted him more monsterish, and terrifying, and like others mentioned, they wanted evoke the original 54 concepts where he is essentially a constant radiation sickness/burn victim, and yeah, he definitely looks that way to me. That said though, as I said before, I don't really like it, it's a bit too much in my opinion. The radiation/burn damage thing doesn't really make too much sense to me conceptually, he's not a human, depending on continuity he's either a mutated Godzillasaurus, or just some kind of monster lizard that already existed and then got further mutated by radiation testing and what-not. Would a creature like that show the same attributes that a human would under these circumstances? It's just weird, just being green and a giant lizard before was fine, THAT was the product of his mutation and radiation exposure, he's a giant atomic breathing lizard, making him look all zombie-like doesn't make sense, are G-cells no longer a thing? Can he no longer nearly instantly heal? I really need to see it all in motion. -
Can't wait, I'm ready for season 2. I love how the Punisher skull has been in the background of almost every piece of marketing until now, he's coming, and it's going to be badass.

Yeah I think Vision would be a must buy for everyone, even those not collecting all the Marvel Figuarts, his look was great in the film, and I think a Figuarts of him would be insane. Black Panther, Winter Soldier, Falcon, I'd buy them all, that said, and this may sound bad, but I'd punch my mother square in the face for a Figuarts Ant-Man and Yellow Jacket...

I'm talking animation scale, which yes, probably isn't the best scale representation obviously, but the way I remember Zen troops is them being as big as a VF-1 on the show, so that's how I remember them, the scene painted in my mind is when Hikaru drops his first Regult and the troop gets out, and is as tall as Roy's 1S. Maybe the Hi-Metal R line is more to true scale then I thought, but everything still seems like it's smaller then it should be to me. Seeing those charts you posted, which I've seen dozens of times, the basic troops still look far too small to me, if that is actual scale, then it's even more irritating to me, why exactly was Breetai a giant? Why do some troops look like they could fit into a Glaug or Regult and others look like they could box a VF-1? I think it'd be for the best for Bandai to just make Figuarts Breetai and leave it at that, any other troops in any other sizes would get confusing in my opinion. Cockpit sized Zens, VF-1 sized Zens, bigger then VF-1 Zens? Their sizes are all over the place, I think trying to recreate fodder troops would be a bad idea.I couldn't picture holding in my hands, tiny little zens to fit into my enemy mecha, and a big valk sized Figuart Breetai, that'd be weird. If anything, I'm a little baffled Bandai didn't at least make painted static pilots like the valkyries, granted on the Regult there wouldn't be much to see, just the back of some dudes head, but the Glaug could have benefited from a little painted pilot sitting in the seat.

Yeah but they'd be teeny tiny, I don't think the enemy mecha in this line are in very good scale to be honest, it's somewhat close I guess, or at least close enough. Figuarts already showed off Breetai, I know he's supposed to be quite bigger then the average troop, but if we somehow got Hi-Metal Zen troops, and supposedly Figuarts Breetai is in scale with the Hi-Metal VF-1s, something is going to end up looking very off. My main worry now is that I've only got 3 Regults on pre-order, and now 2 Glaugs, if Bandai doesn't milk the Regult and put out missile variants I'll probably end up selling a Glaug, nearly as many advanced units as grunts doesn't make much sense to me. What mark up sites are you referring to? And do you mean some sites have pre-orders for $20-30 US marked up above retail? Because the Regults were about $50-60 each when the pre-orders first went live.

Exactly the same here, the 46 doesn't look very different from the 45 I already own, and I'm not one to collect multiple Iron Man armors, and I have zero interest in buying and filling out a hall of armor. And yes, I still wholeheartedly agree, this new Cap looks just plain terribad. I managed to snag Figuarts Mace last night from AmiAmi, he'll be coming in with my two Hi-Metal R Glaugs in May, I can't wait. And I'm dying to know when we'll get to see more of Figuarts Widow and Hawkeye, the need for them is VERY real. edit: Holy crap Bandai updated the Figuarts Civil War page. http://tamashii.jp/marvel/civil_war/ Cap and Tony are easy passes, but that little bit at the bottom, where it says "and more...", got me salivating.

I've had these guys for about two weeks, forgot to post pics. I gotta say, the First Order Troopers are the nicest, most well made white armor trooper figures that Figuarts have put out, they are what I expected the OG Stormtrooper and Clone Troopers to be like. That said, I still love them all, Clones and the kind of meh Stormtroopers too, they all look great.

Don't hold your breath on HLJ, they are the absolute slowest when it comes to listing new Bandai items on their site. When the Regult pre-orders went up, I wanted to grab at least one and possibly a Figuarts Captain Phasma, neither of those were listed on their site until nearly 24 hours later, they popped up at random times. Keep your eye on AmiAmi, NY, CDJapan, Animeexport, and HobbySearch.

Yeah I was going to comment on the masked head too, compared to my AOU version, it looks super derpy and off as well. I mean, this could and probably is still an early prototype, but damn, the head on this thing looks awful no matter how you slice it. I think it's in the mouth and cheeks, he just looks terrible either way, not sure what happened here, just repaint and if you absolutely have to, slightly retool the AOU Cap, he was perfectly fine. This new Cap looks laughably bad, like something went very wrong, I'm baffled at the people saying they'll be upgrading to this version JUST for the head. Really? THAT head? To each their own I guess.

Yeah I saw those earlier, it doesn't look much different from the AOU Cap, so I'll be passing. And that unmasked Steve head looks insanely, blatantly, terrible. What's the deal Figuarts?

I'd definitely say Firehouse, I'm picking mine up while I'm on lunch Monday, and from the reviews I've seen, the set is incredible. I doubt you'll find the official instructions anytime soon, and even then, it's just too many pieces and it's too complex to be feasible, if you want this set, now is the time to get it. -
So I've got a request, I hope someone can help me out. Can anyone that has them, take photos of and compare the Hi-Metal R Hikaru 1S with one of the old Hi-Metal DYRL 1As? I'm really wondering about the color, were the old DYRL Hi-Metals made in the same bright white as the other old Hi-Metals? Or were they more greyish like the Hi-Metal Rs? I wouldn't care which, any 1A would work, Hikaru, Max, or Kakizaki, I just want to know if the colors match or if they would look awkward together.

I guess I haven't posted any of my recent goodies, probably won't be able to mess with anything until later this weekend though, sorry about the picture quality, I took these with a potato. This is a Private Warehouse from HLJ, a Pile of Loot from BBTS, an order from Toywiz for the Lego Ideas sets, and while I was out Xmas shopping about three weeks ago I grabbed the Lego Star Destroyer. I should have gotten the Lego Ideas sets long ago, I was in Back to the Future fever at the time I ordered the Dalorean and Ecto-1, and I probably paid more then I should have for Doc and Marty, but that's what I get for sitting on them and not buying for over a year. I like my Hi-Metal of course, and I managed to snag a Zoids Berserk Fuhrer for just $55 from HLJ, now I can build him up and put him next to the late season Blitz Team. I'm baffled at how many MP Transformers I have now, I told myself to just get ironhide when he drops, and I do indeed have him on pre-order, but since then I've bought 9 MP cars and Optimus, it is definitely a slippery slope folks.

I finally got a payment request from HLJ for Kylo and a Trooper, it seems HLJ is just like that sometimes, if you got a pre-order in, don't worry, it will go through, they just really like to take their time. HLJ did this with Darth Maul, Vader, Luke, and my Clones and Droids.

Not delivered, it was out for delivery in Utah, but the address wasn't even real or valid, so the status updated to Return to Sender, and now It's on its way back to NY. They apparently shipped it out to a non-existent address, it wasn't even valid, I don't know where the hell they attempted to send it to. And now, the long wait...

Well I'm not getting my Hi-Metal Hikaru 1S by Christmas, or anytime soon for that matter. NY sent my frakking package to Salt Lake City, Utah, I'm in Vegas...I don't know what my options are at this point, I already put in a complaint ticket, and they already responded and said they'll contact Japan Post and see what they can do, which I'm guessing is nothing. With mail service how it currently is, I'm not hopeful in them getting the package back anytime soon, that is if they even do get it back and it doesn't get lost in this Christmas mess. They won't just replace it, they won't refund me either, granted, if I wanted, I could have Paypal MAKE them give me my money back, but I'm not sure how well they'd take that, especially with me having already paid off a Figuarts Hulkbuster and Hi-Metal Roy for future release. Now I know why lots of people don't use NY, they've shipped to me before, but this was just a stupid, blatant mistake.

I think Tarantino is absolutely in the right to be pissed on this one, he has nothing against Star Wars, he's rightfully pissed about the childish petty bullshit corporate Disney pulled. Disney wanted an extended run for Star Wars, they asked theaters to pull Hateful Eight, Tarantino was already in an agreement with a contract to have his film shown in 70mm like he wanted at the premier, but Disney, being the a-holes they are, threatened to pull all showings of Star Wars at this theater if they didn't give into to Disney's whining. Tarantino isn't getting his premier for his new film as he was promised thanks to Disney being terrible. I get the Star Wars hype is in full swing, but there's no way you can't look at this and not understand Tarantino's point of view, and that Disney was absolutely in the wrong for handling this this way, they suck.
