  1. I really enjoyed the first two episodes but they were definitely slow, catch-up episodes for some, straight up introductions for many others. As someone that thinks Rebels was up there with Empire as some of the best Star Wars ever period, I love it, for others that didn't watch, it seems it's a Star Wars show about the orange jedi lady from Mando and a bunch of "new" Star Wars characters. I'm a little surprised there's so much emphasis on Rebels and Clone Wars knowledge, as others have said, lots of fans didn't watch those and I don't really think it's a great idea to have the overall main story a continuation of a story a lot of people aren't familiar with, hell most casual fans are still wondering who or what the hell Thrawn is.

  2. My Starfield for Series X arrives early today, I'm pretty hyped, Bethesda+space really does it for me. I'm a little worried the day 1 patch won't be out until closer to the 1st, but the early leaked footage looked surprisingly stable and bug free, either way I'm excited to dive in tonight for as long as I can stay up, sleep is an optional objective...

Presumably they didn't notice the difference.  I know I didn't outside of the fact I think the blue is too bright.

...and looking up the differences now I see why I think the color is too bright.  The WS museum one is a brighter color.  Too bad they got the costumes mixed up.

I really like the First Avenger costume so if this were those colors I would probably bite, as-is, like you said, it's a bit too bright. I also really wanted Bandai to put out that Figuarts Star Spangled Man Cap, but that was just another prototype that will never see the light of day.

I'm hoping this ties in in some way to Kong: Skull Island, but even if not, I'm up for it!

Skull Island was in the Mosnterverse so yes. I also read a part of the story takes place in the past, Kurt Russell plays his character in the "modern" timeline and his son Wyatt Russell plays the character in the "past" timeline.

I'm excited, I've loved the Legendary Monsterverse movies, KotM and GvK were both great! I don't have AppleTV though, I'll definitely have to steal a sign-in from a friend whenever this drops.

  5. Looks pretty neat, and while I absolutely love MMPR and have tons of merch, I really haven't felt I need any rangers beyond my Figuarts I was lucking to get back in the day from BBTS when the US releases were happening. The One:12 look good for those interested though, there's also a company making snap together, poseable figure kits that looked really good too, ThreeZero has the 1/6 figures, it's a good time to need MMPR core 6 right now, lots of great options.

  6. Yeah I didn't hate it as much as expected, but damn it looks awful. I've been watching the 4K screen grab videos on Youtube, and while Youtube compression is awful there's no denying the CGI is just frakking terrible. Like, tie-in movie video game awful at times. So many scenes look so bad, there's a CG Henry Cavill and Affleck at one point when some major conflict bits are happening and wow, people laughed at Cavill's CG lips and moustache-less face, wonder what they thought of some of the scenes in this movie, yikes.

This show definitely didn’t have the budget that earlier D+ shows

Somehow, some way, this show had a 200 million dollar budget, go figure.

Finished Secret Invasion and it was pretty awful overall, easily my least favorite D+ MCU series, far worse then expected. What a waste of money and talent, it was poorly written, it looked really bad, it was painfully dumb and borderline idiotic in it's story beats. Shockingly bad considering this was Jackson's big come back as Fury, what a waste, he came back with a whimper. Maria Hill died for this garbage? And in such a completely underwhelming and forgettable way? Just terrible. I am absolutely positive every revelation and major event from this turd will be forgotten just like Eternals, Disney should be embarrassed, I saw the director is already trying to do damage control on social media. Apparently he won't read the universally awful reviews, what a bold strategy, let's see if it works out for him.

Looking behind the scenes I'm a bit baffled, the director was a nobody with little experience, same with the script and screenwriters, why hire such mediocre talent for a show like this? How was so much money spent when it looked so awful? The reshoots and behind the scenes drama must've been intense, this whole thing was just shockingly bad in every way, I've been a shill for most of the D+ shows, I've enjoyed them all, even She Hulk, but this was blatantly awful and a complete disappointment.

Charles Kane gets brought back along with Sweet Tooth by Calypso in Twisted Metal 2 as the boss Dark Tooth seeking revenge on when you kill Sweet Tooth at a certain point in this game.

Damn I remember that! Twisted Metal 2 was fire! That was the huge ice cream truck boss that had specials like Minion and Warthog or something like that, those were killer games, I always liked the dark, twisted, monkeys-paw like endings, especially Minion.

  9. Caught the first four episodes last night and I'm really enjoying it! I'm glad they didn't take it super seriously and go with the ultra dark vibes from TW Black and the game after, this series is absurd, and I think it works best when tongue is firmly in cheek. Cast is great, you can tell Mackie is having a ton of fun, Neve Campbell is solid and still gorgeous, Rose from Brooklyn 99 is funny, and yes, Samoa Joe/Will Arnett kill it as Sweet Tooth. Though, I'm a bit confused, if I'm remembering right Sweet Tooth was just the ice cream truck, the killer clown was named Needles if I remember right. That's not really an important detail, just seemed a bit odd to me, the series seems to get most other references and lore quite right.

One thing I'm bummed about, and I called it when the first trailer dropped, the newest MK movie did the same thing...

    Spoiler

The tournament isn't until next season, this season is build up to the first big Twisted Metal tournament. I thought Neve Campbell's COO of New San Francisco was Calypso, she even very specifically uses verbiage like "making people's deepest wishes and dreams come true", but she's being cheeky. I do believe Calypso is very real and she's using our main character John for some kind of trial for the first Twisted Metal tournament. We'll see, I've still got a few episodes to go.

Pretty fun overall, lots of references and easter eggs, plus if you're familiar with the games several game characters make appearances and set themselves up for next season.

    Spoiler

Twister is the girl that now runs the crazy convoy community, as soon as I saw the schematic for an F1 car I knew it was her, then she calls none other then Flower Power, VW Beetle in her front yard and all, apparently her ex girlfriend. They're clearly in for next season, Mr. Grimm and Warthog have already been mentioned. Next season seems it'll be stacked, quite a few game characters and the real deal tournament. One other funny easter egg I noticed was John uses the cheat code from Twisted Metal 1 for infinite health as his "secret" to getting his car into first gear, there's quite a few funny little nods and easter eggs like that.

Overall I'm enjoying it, it's definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea, if you're not familiar with the games I feel it will be an even harder sell, but it's a fun show that's fully aware of how insane it's world and characters are. I've been enjoying what I've been seeing.
