With a reported budget of $320 million dollars, The Electric State will leave you in a state of shock of how bad it is.

I watched this, I think, it was certainly on, while I was doing other stuff and paid very little attention. For the talent involved, and the budget spent, this was the most boring, uninteresting, uninspired, by the numbers, made-by-committee, algorithm scripted blockbuster I've ever seen in my life. What an absolute waste of time, resources and talent, Netflix CAN NOT be banking on stuff like this to keep people subscribing, this was the most one and done film possibly ever.

Robots looked kind of cool though, I guess.

So, another Mortal Combat..is this connected, aside from name, to any of the others? Or stand alone.?

It's a direct sequel to the 2021 reboot film.

Wish they would've done Johnny in the first film, fish out of water works perfectly for him, instead of some random, made-up, not in the game descendant of Scorpion with literal plot armor as a power. I liked the 2021 film, definitely in for this one too, FINISH HIM!

  3. Loved the Cruise movie, so much so that I grabbed the novel and read it, definitely a fun read! This looks, interesting? Definitely not a fan of the designs, and the animation is a bit much, very, uh, artsy? Not really what I expected, I expected something a bit more gritty and grounded, oh well, still might check it out eventually.

If you're not into RoboCop, it's a solid but definitely not triple A shooter. If you're into RoboCop, though, it's the best the franchise has seen in decades, with a story set just after RoboCop 2 with Peter Weller reprising the role of Alex Murphy.

This, holy crap was it soooo good if you were looking for a true sequel to the first film. It nailed everything, and on a budget! The studio that did Robocop also did the only worthwhile Terminator game too, highly recommended as well, at this point I wish they could get a hold of the Dredd IP.

Just finished the newest episode. Still rolling strong

Even though I hate multiverse stories, at least they never try to get stick on explaining how it works or doesn’t work.
Mark’s lil bro definitely has a higher understanding of what sometimes needs to be done and this episode really squashed mark’s lesson about not killing your super powered psychotic enemies.

i kinda wish Rex picked a better way to defeat his opponent though, it just seemed like way to close to a certain episode of X-Men 97

To be fair, Invincible is adapted from a comic story written well before

    Spoiler

    X-Men 97

    was even a thought.

  6. I liked the first two episodes for sure, the tone seems right, the CG fight scenes are a bit rough. Mixing CG with the practical fights sounds good in theory, but they really didn't blend very well and it looked pretty rough, that said, having those scenes in bad lighting and in the dark is definitely the way to go. I'm just hoping..

    Spoiler

After making such a big deal about Foggy and Karen back Karen isn't already out, Foggy, obviously is, RIP, but Karen needs to have a more prominent part. I'm hoping they didn't bring those two back just to shuffle them off in episode 1, that's a bit of a bait and switch IMO.

We'll see, solid start, definitely looking forward to more.

Just watched last week’s episode. Was a bit behind on tv. This one was one of those episodes where you know pretty much what exactly is going to happen, but still shocking to see that it actually happens.

It doesn't hurt that Aaron Paul is a phenomenal actor and gave a great VA performance, he really sold the whole conflict and character.

  8. It sucks too, merch based on the actual, original FFVII is few and far between, everything nowadays is Remake or Advent Children, there's even less merch of actual articulated figures.

I get it, Square put these out at this price point because they knew they would sell, that nostalgia is a helluva drug, and they look absolutely fantastic, they just half-assed them in every way they could but the price. The full lineup, Reno and the Turks included, is an insane amount of money for such small, badly designed figures. The only thing they do is look good, I've handled Barret as well and it's about the same deal, looks good, not fun to handle or pose.

  9. Doesn't matter, that figure is pure ass anyway, not even thinking about the absolutely horrid price for such a small figure. It's badly engineered, there's bad QC, it barely poses, it just sucks,

I want one for my Super Smash display, but outside finding a cheap used one or seeing it on a deep sale I'm not paying the asking price for that awful little turd of a figure. Square is frakking insane for releasing this line in the condition they did, at the price they are asking. These really are literally, only for the most hardcore-weeby FFVII fans, these figures are awful, and that Cloud is a bad figure in general.

  10. Definitely hyped for this one to finally return. Once again, who would've thought the best D+, let alone D+ Star Wars series would be about a character we know dies in Rogue One? Crazy. Obi-Wan was god awful, Boba Fett was almost comically bad, but Andor was frakking gripping, interesting, well made and acted, the difference in overall quality was undeniable.

  11. Yeah I'm enjoying the season so far, as a comic reader though, I'm waiting on the other shoe to drop....

    Spoiler

Also, wondering if we'll see Dinosaurus this season, I think Mark's first encounter was after his first encounter with Conquest, so it could be happening to cap off the end of this season.

  12. Absolutely fantastic final episodes! The show went out on a high note, I can't complain about how it ended at all, every character got their moment, and ended in a good place, it was a fun ride for sure.

Finished up the last set of Cobra Kai eps.

Still cheesy as hell.  But there were some nice, even heartfelt and touching, moments in the end there.

    The show ended well.

For something we all thought was a bloody joke when it first came out (on YouTube no less!), it’s nice to see the show finish up.

Dare I say, it found a nice way to balance silliness and heartfelt growth. 😉

    Spoiler

The final Johnny and Kreese bit got me pretty good, well done Cobra Kai.

  14.

Season 2 coming this Summer! I'm hyped! I loved the first season, only downside was the tournament wasn't featured, only teased, season 2 seems to immediately fix that. I've always loved this game series too, and wish Sony didn't just sit on it and do nothing, we need a PS5 reboot stat!

I’ve only seen the Black Widow movie once and kinda totally don’t remember what happened with Taskmaster at all.

Lol same, I remember her dying until Thunderbolts got announced and I realized I remembered the end of that movie totally wrong and she apparently lived. I think she had her brainwashing broken? And then she disappeared? Or ran into Julia Louis-Dreyfus? Not sure, she's a Thunderbolt now I guess, one of five Captain America stand-ins on a team of Captain America stand-ins.

  16. Scylla but still no signs of MonsterVerse Mecha Godzilla? They teased that figure years ago, and we still haven't even seen a prototype, wonder if they'll bother at this point or just move on to GvK2?

  17. I still think it looks good and I'm in, but after the new Superbowl commercial I wonder how much Taskmaster is even in this? She seems to be on the posters and some marketing material, but she has the least scenes and screen time in each trailer, I wonder if she dies, or is the "Enchantress" of this movie, she turns on the Thunderbolts and helps the baddies.
