I got to check out my buddies Hiya Ghidorah yesterday and I'm even less impressed and even more glad I didn't preorder. It's not a terrible figure, but it's not the holy grail, MonsterArts crushing figure I think many had hoped it would be.
It's not movie accurate, the sculpt or colors, the neck articulation is somewhat fixed and just really limited overall, not anywhere near as poseable as the MonsterArts, and the wings are kind of a mess, yeah they're articulated and I'd say better overall then the MonsterArts giant, heavy static wings, but they're so segmented they look awful most of the time and they're flimsy and clumsy to manipulate. He also has some QC issues, paint, one of the heads haw a lower jaw that's fixed and stuck in a crappy position, it's just not what he was hoping for. Overall, it's still far cheaper then the MonsterArts, and between the two I'd probably recommend new buyers to grab the Hiya, but I'm still glad I personally own the MonsterArts first release, neither of the super gold versions look good because that color scheme just isn't accurate to anything, it's more an homage color to older Ghidorahs.
The MonsterArts is a better sculpt overall IMO, and as plain as the original release is, the colors are better then the odd brown used throughout the Hiya. Now there's a gold release coming that's cheaper and I just don't know what to think, how is it cheaper but it comes with more then the first release? Whatever, I'm in for Hiya's Evolved purple Godzilla, and I'm sure they'll do Shimo and Skar King too, which I'll grab both, I have a feeling Bandai has zero intention of doing new sculpts for this movie, they already showed their absolutely ass looking Godzilla for this movie and it's the same sculpt from years ago, same with Kong but I really like that figure, hopefully they fixed some of the QC on this new release.

Any indication whether Spiderman will make an appearance?
The last one seemed to imply that the 2 would meet...
Knowing how these Spider-Man adjacent movies have worked, even with this supposedly being the "last" Venom movie, Spider-Man will probably appear before the credits roll for a minute or two max, and it will contribute and lead to nothing.

Yeah this kind of just comes off as a supernatural John Wick riff, less Crow, he just seems like a guy with Wolverine powers and a revenge story, bummer.

I’m gonna look more at Amazon for examples and some of their stuff is pretty great. Sure Rings of Power was as you said a dumpster fire, but Reacher is pretty fun for being kind of a basic television series with a bit of streaming flavor added, The Boys is still one of the best things in the superhero category along with Invincible.
I personally think Fallout looks far more promising than Rings of Power and hopefully Amazon has learned from that mistake. Sure there’s a chance for failure, but it looks like a different kind of show. As far as video game adaptations, it looks far better than Halo from p+. And I killed the last of us on Max. I couldn’t think of one on Amazon.
I mean, I think overall Amazon has some absolute bangers for shows.
The Boys and Invincible are a breath of fresh air for superhero stuff, The Expanse is one of the greatest scifi series ever made period, Man in the High Castle is brilliant, Reacher and Terminal List were both fantastic throwbacks to classic action cinema, Good Omens and Gen V were both solid series. I'd say Amazon is far more hit then miss, Rings of Power was an epic stinker to be sure, but to use that to try to say Fallout will be a dumpster fire? I'm just not following.

Damn I thought it was a real trailer, bummer.

Let me be clear.. I really want it not to be a Dumpster fire, but unless you've been living under a rock, or in your parents basement with no internet one does not need to look very far.
I'll start with West World then... First 2 seasons teetered beetween ok and good but never great.. the 3rd and... how'd that turn out again?
The Lord of the Rings reboot.. yeah nuff said
He-Man reboot? anyone?
What I find amusing is how Amazon is touting this Fallout series with the headline about its the same writers from West World..
I mean, it's all subjective, I thought West World season 1 was fantastic, great stand alone season that later seasons never managed to reach in quality again. Rings of Power? He-Man? Those aren't related to this show in any way, I'm not understanding your logic. I could just as easily say Shogun is incredible, it's not related either but it's a show that's out and is a 10/10, that proves something I guess? House of the Dragon was great, Last of Us was really good, The Curse was fantastic, I just don't get the bringing up two other unrelated shows to make a point, there isn't really one, some shows are good and some shows are bad, that's kind of how it works.

Cheaper then the first release, and it comes with more? Yikes, people hate on Bandai for doing this, Hiya takes it a step further. Still a pass for me, none of these companies have made a movie accurate KotM Ghidorah yet, they're all inaccurate in different ways, oh well, I'm fine with my original release MonsterArts figure.

Guaranteed Dumpster fire,
Guaranteed? Yikes. To each their own, but dumpster fire? In what way?

No 4K release? Why only Bluray? Lots of people have moved onto 4K and Dolby Vision, and this film deserves the best.

Yup I'm even more hyped after that new trailer, it looks fantastic! And once again, Walton Goggins can do no wrong, the dude is an incredible actor, plus all episodes at once? I like that, makes the release for Invincible seem even more egregious.

Damn I might grab this, I loved the black and white cut.

I'm really enjoying FFVII Rebirth but damn, sometimes it's too much of a good thing. The world is already stupid massive, but it's also filled to the brim with way, way, way too many mini-games. There's mini-games for everything, most are tedious, and several are tied to side story progression and even gatekeep certain items, it's awful. I don't want to play Fort Condor, I don't want to play Queen's Blood, but you're forced to if you want full completion in a number of areas for a number of different things, it sucks.

I'm gutted, RIP to an absolute legend, DBZ will always be my favorite shonen ever, it's probably the best shonen ever made. His legacy and influence will be remembered for years to come, his work will never be forgotten.

I really liked season 1, definitely in for season 2 and Toph, and THE BOULDER!

Love my LEGO Optimus, absolutely in for a transformable G1 Bee, that sounds great.
-
Yeah I'm all caught up and this is absolutely the best thing on TV right now, it's frakking fantastic. Excellent performances, the show is gorgeous, there's intrigue and drama, it's just a 10/10, highly recommended.

In for Ahsoka, she looks good, I'm glad I didn't bend and get the Mafex, the Figuarts looks better and it's cheaper.
-
I absolutely love Halo Reach, easily my favorite game in the series, and would love a high quality, poseable Noble Team, but those prices are outrageous for figures of this size. Carter and Noble 6 are insanely expensive, I can imagine George will be $200+ easy, maybe even $250, I can't justify those prices.

Boy Kills World looks wild, and that cast is insane! Makes me remember Warrior got cancelled again on HBO, bummer...

So I'm two episodes into True Detective: Night Country, and – does it get better? It should have been an easy receipe of The Thing x Thunderheart, but somehow doesn't achieve the slightest suspense so far. I'm all for a slow buildup, but everything feels so staged, and I lost count how many "Chief, you gotta see this..." transitions we had already. The setup and actors are there, but IMO it deserved a better director.
I'll give it a go eventually, but I'm still surprised this series keeps getting new seasons. Not to be that guy, but the first season with Woody and McConaughey was damn near perfection, and honestly, the only consistent season.

I grabbed Black Suit Snyder Superman for $65 on sale, killer price. I'll use him to replace my Figuarts Superman in my Snyder-League display, I like the Figuarts figure more, but the black suit just looks right with the rest of the League, I liked the Snyder Cut, so this works for me.
I'm considering grabbing the 2.0 Snyder-League Batman, but Mafex prices are frakking insane! Everyone gives Bandai crap for rising Figuarts prices, and I agree, but damn, Mafex is far more egregious IMO. All I have is a KO Mafex Batman, the Figuarts Justice League Batman was absolute garbage and I gave mine to one of my cousin's kids, maybe I'll wait and see if I can get the Mafex 2.0 for cheaper after release.

So, wait, the main enemy can't possibly be the red ape. Seems like something Godzilla would just stomp over.
I think the red ape is Kong's big enemy, there's another enemy, some giant ice dragon thing or something, it's far larger then even this new Godzilla and that's Godzilla's new foe.
