  1. I think once Oni-sama showed up the story went downhill somewhat. Not a total trainwreck though (pun not intended). Anyway, I'm pleased to see that Mikimoto's designs got a new bunch of fans. Forget Munmei. Give me the hot, redhead engineer girl with muscles like an Olympic swimmer any day of the week.
  2. If I can change the vodka to some Japanese whisky, we have ourselves a deal. Last episode was tough. That trial was a very "windy" affair. Luckily once the combat started, there was a chance to recuperate.
  3. So does Lady M appear before the end or do they save her for the movie version?
  4. Haven't had a chance to hear some of the other episodes, guys, but it seems you guys are enjoying yourselves more and more. Mike's reactions actually make me warm up to Makina. So far Makina has been nothing but a fanservice character created to sell hug pillows and figurines but Mike's true love makes me hope she survives and he can thereby retain his sanity
  5. Nope. Sentai has not answered my mails or on Twitter. Starting to get worried about them having second thoughts on releasing this.
  6. They're very close to the anime. They didn't take any liberties with the plot at all. They're a fun read, but the writing feels a bit stiff. I don't know if that is how the author writes or was more how it was translated. Yang Wenli comes across as a bit more cynical and tough than he did in the anime. That might be be his seiyuu giving him a softer edge. Have to admit the classical music OST gives the anime a special something missing from the book.
  7. Makes my top 3 with My Soul for You and Angel Voice. Hard to choose between those 3.
  8. Got a Sharon Apple nendoroid for my desk.
  9. Started of fine but got progressively more festive as the Knights got more lines. I agree. The Knights have been the worst bit about the show for me besides the lazy writing and pacing in the second half of the season. They are so utterly bland, their dialogue and actions are repetitive (how many times must Bogue go though the same motions) and they come off as just a bunch of country bumpkins who think they're special because their grandad was something important once upon a time. To make matters worse we all just know that they "will" be redeemed before the end. The Zentradi were an awesome antagonist as were the Vajra. They really scared you when you first came across them. Heck even the Mardook and Anti-UN forces are more compelling that the Breakwind Knights.
  10. Still standing although I'm definitely worried about watching the film versions if the Windermereans get as many lines as they do in the series
  11. I think anyone who is a GITS fan will give this a shot. It seems the the producers/director are respecting the property and not take the obscene liberties seen in other adaptations.
  12. Macross Frontier's episodes 18-22 seem like rare impressive masterpieces compared to what Delta is delivering now. In order not be disapointed next episode, I've decided to spice things up. I'll open up a beer at episodes start. Every time someone says the words "wind" or "sing" I'll have a sip. That should be fun.
  13. Kizumonogatari I. SHAFT with a film budget for a proven franchise. Just amazing. Incredible eye candy.
  14. I'm trying really hard to be positive here but this series has taken a nose dive in the second half.
  15. Finished watching Tekkaman Blade (took me a long time too.) The series could have been done in 26 episodes instead of 49 and would have been better for it. But enjoyable nevertheless. Gonna rewatch Gurren Lagann now. Too long since I last watched it.
  16. So we are getting a remake of a remake? Few people have ever seen the original Scarface. Who is going to be the poor schmuck who is going to step into Tony Montana's shoes? I pity ham.
  17. So the huge nostalgia-info dump basically serves to propel us into the final arcs of this series. Have to agree with those who are a bit disappointed about the subpar writing for much of this series. I love little bits and pieces here and there, but I'm not getting a compelling story that I can submerge myself into. The identity of Lady M is the last mistery left. We know she's an old timer since she's been around since the first Space War so let's see what Kawamori surprises us with.
